True Blood Season 5
I'm on a roll tonight! I just had to! Can't wait for this either.
Can't wait! Though Alan Ball is leaving if the show continues past season 5. This is a bad, bad sign, True Blood fans.
It was said after season 3. Anyway, I normally don't have anything against this as I love True Blood but now that Meloni left SVU for this, I'm left thinking, "to hell with this." lol.
Oh. It’s good. Here’s the new teaser poster for True Blood season 5. The 12-episode new season starts Sunday, June 10. Soooo? Anyone watch this? I thought it was very good, and the "coming this season" clip was AWESOME! I knew Tara would be coming back as a vampire, and I also figured she'd be [********] about it. Looks like that's the case! I don't like the whole Steve Newlin "Guess what I'm a vapire and I'm GAY and I love you, Jason!" story. I mean, I anticipated some action with Steve coming back, but not like this. These seems pretty dumb, like it will be the filler-side-story of the season. Really interested to hear/see more of Terry's past and what's up with what happened in Iraq and the subsequent fires with the members from his squad. I'm also really looking forward to seeing what will happen with [strike]Eric & Bill[/strike], I mean, Marcello & Ike (haha!) this season. All in all, I was pretty impressed, and I am PUMPED for more. :D ETA: Christopher Meloni - Squee!!
Ahhhhh so glad it's back!! I actually thought Tara was dead for good (that sad music playing while Sookie cried by her corpse had me convinced), or maybe it was just wishful thinking. I thought it was a great episode though! I love Bill and Eric together too. I know it's summer when True Blood is back on!

The Terry storyline is also very interesting. I got to me Carrie Preston (Arlene) about two months ago and asked her about the show. She said it's going to be great from what they had filmed so far. So now I can't wait for more!
Ahhhhh so glad it's back!! Glad it's back. And I was hopeful that Tara would be gone for good as well.
I was happy to see the show return, but was by no means blown away as the storylines were by the numbers. We all knew that Bill and Eric were not going to disappear to escape the Authority. We all knew that the wolf pack was not going to kill Sam. We all knew Tara was going to come back as the most annoying vampire in history. Yes, even more annoying in death than in life... The biggest problem with this show is that I don't fear any of the main characters actually dying. If they are human and die, they come back as vampires (or are saved by vampire blood prior to actually croaking.) Thus, any of the suspense I felt in initial seasons is gone. So, the writers bring in the new bad guy or two each year and our heroes/anti-heroes spend all season trying to kill the bad guy du jour until eventually they die (at least for a little while - a.k.a. Russell.) What needs to happen is what the writers did with 24. In that show, no character (besides Jack = Sookie) was off the table to bite it in any scene in any episode. There needs to be a real chance that someone of import dies to create that feeling of fear for the viewer. In my honest opinion, a lead or two needs to meet the true death soon (Bill and Tara is a great place to start.) From that point forward, the suspense once again can become real.
I really wish they just killed off Tara. Her character has gotten more annoying each season. I am very excited for Christopher Meloni though!
i still don't understand the Tara hate. :( i kinda like her character and I like that her and sookie are like sisters while her and lafayette are hilarious together. I don't find her annoying but i guess thats just me. Happy they brought her back... for a second there at the end of the premiere I suddenly had my doubts (like maybe she would only appear as a ghost to lafayette). The premiere was great in my opinion! This show never fails to keep me glued and entertained for 50 minutes every sunday night. What storylines do we have going one at the moment? 1. Vampire Tara and Maker Pam 2. Bill/Eric/Nora & Authority 3. Jason/Jessica/GayNewlin 4. Terry/Patrick and Marine history house fires 5. Fangbanger Hoyt 6. Sam/Luna/Alcide vs. WolfPack and Debbie's parents 7. Andy/Holly/Fairy 8. The Return of Russell Edgington 9. Lafayette and Sookie? Trying to help Tara? So many storylines. So much awesomeness. Looking forward to the 12 weeks ahead. :)
This wasn't the best True Blood season premiere, but it was a good start. It was no shocker that Tara was going to return, being that she's Sookie's closest friend and she's also still in the books. I think the writers should have killed her off for real, for shock value. Sometimes a show needs shock value and that element of surprise to feel fresh again. I feel there's too much main characters in this show as well as lots of storylines going on. Some of them are pointless (like Andy and Holly's storyline). They seem to keep adding more and more characters every season. I think they can do away with some of them. Hopefully this season will be as good as last one or even better. I like Jason and Jessica together, but they need to give him another storyline too. I wonder if they would ever let him revisit the werepanthers. I'm not sure why they brought Newlin back. Unless he serves a bigger purpose in Bon Temps or the vampire kingdom. I like Bill and Eric working together, they make each other more interesting. Can't wait to meet the Authority that they're up against. It would be interesting to see if Russell goes after them and the authority first, or Sookie. Another interesting storyline is the Sam/Luna/Alcide vs the wolf pack. Hopefully they bring in more shifters. I used to look at Arlene and Terry as filler characters. But Terry's marine history has got me interested to learn more about him. I wonder what happened that night years ago... I like Sookie and LeFayette working together. I think it's only a matter of time, before they get intertwined with the other storylines, since Russell's on the loose.

They did nothing with her. They just let her run around screaming and growling and staring at people for an hour. Note to the writers: This is no way makes her any more appealing as a character. In fact it just makes me want to reach through the tv and stake her so she will stop screaming and breaking things. Make her go away. NOW. Puppy in pajamas was adorable, but I think baby Dothraki from Game of Thrones takes the cake. The hair on that kid was too much.
I wish they would have just let her bleed to death.
Stupid Sookie ruining everything again by stopping Lafeyette from staking her! It would have solved all of our problems.
Stupid Sookie ruining everything again by stopping Lafeyette from staking her! It would have solved all of our problems.
Seriously. That would at least cut out a boring storyline.
The random, meaningless tangents on this show are starting to get to me. What exactly is this season about? Fairies? Shifters? Werewolves? Fang Bangers? The Authority? Demonic possession? Some Iraqi fire monster? I really hope a cohesive storyline emerges sooner rather than later... Edit: Wow. I didn't even realize this season is half over. Talk about treading water.

Hopefully now that Russell is back, the story will reel me back in. And half over already? Damn, that's disappointing.
That trailer was better than the first few episodes combined...
I can't believe there are only 2 episodes left. I feel like every season of this show goes by way too fast. I thought last night was a great episode. There aren't as many story lines now and the ones left are interesting. Even Tara was good last night!

I actually really enjoyed Tara last night, but I always love when the bring back Ginger. She cracks me up. I think the last two episodes will be the best of the entire season.

If they are hell bent on keeping that character around they might as well pair her with one of the most liked characters. That way we get more Pam but have to deal with Tara, which is a trade off I can deal with. Miss you Hoyt! I'm sorry they ruined you by making you acting like an emo fangbanger for your last season. I'm still pissed about Christopher Meloni getting killed off so soon too. :( And thank GOD that stupid Ifrit storyline is done with.
I'm sorry they ruined you by making you acting like an emo fangbanger for your last season
Those scenes probably won't be in his audition demo reel! Haha. So sad how he had to go out. A shell of the character he once was...
Those scenes probably won't be in his audition demo reel! Haha. So sad how he had to go out. A shell of the character he once was...
Right? I was so sad when Jessica flashed back to old Hoyt and I realized why I loved him so much. Oh and don't forget about Sam almost making out with himself! If they went through with that I would have switched the tv off right there. A bridge too far, Alan Ball. Too far.
I was dissapointed on the producers not showing a preview for next weeks episode. Pam has to be one of my favorite characters, and Lafayette's lines crack me up.

I am sure it will be a big episode.
I should start doing that Bacchus, but I get too pump up.
Talk about disappointing. I just realized a minute ago that last week's episode was actually the season finale. I had assumed it was this week. Whoops.
