I only say this because Diem is so open with her own battle with cancer.
Exactly! Plus its nothing to really be ashamed about either.

Actually, while Diem has been open about her own life, I believe she regards her family as personal and off limits.
I can not recall the source but, I remember reading an aricle where Diem said there was no history of cancer in her family. And that she was the only one in her family to have ever had cancer. So I don't think her mother passed from cancer.
Thank you for refreshing my memory. I did take a moment to find an interview where Diem says she has no history of cancer in her family. (First question: Diem Brown: MTV's reality starlet and ovarian cancer patient: Savvy Miss.com). Maybe how her mother died was part of the information that kept her off of Real World Key West because she was unwilling to share it.
Although she keeps most of her personal life private, I feel that Diem would be a bit more open if her mother died from illness because of her deeply personal involvement with Medgift.
Thank you for the interview! It's so exciting to actually hear from her, and I found your Q and A to be very insightful! I am one of those annoying people who keeps wanting her and CT to get back together, but reading this reminds me that she is a real person and not some fictional character. There is a lot about their relationship that we don't know about and that she (for good reason) doesn't want to reveal, so who are we to say that they should get back together? If they ever do, I'd be excited, but I can understand why the whole Shauvon thing would keep her from it...especially since he agreed on the plane ride to the Duel 2 not to hook up with anybody.
I admit that I never understood the whole "career first" thing with Diem, but after reading this, and seeing that it was more because of being young, and diving into something she was passionate about--knowing that she wouldn't have as much time for him, makes it more clear to me. I always thought there must be more to it.
I wish her the best of luck, and I admire all that she's doing.
P.S. I've never thought that Diem is boring and I hope she is on more challenges. She's my favorite!
I really don't think that Diem and CT will ever get back together. But I do think she still has feelings for him though which is sad though because I think he is done with her like...DONE! He talks about her as if he hates her. I mean it could be anger talking, but I don't know. And the reason why I feel like they can't be friends is because feelings are still involved. She sounds like she's really happy in her relatioship though and he seems content as well, although his gf is young, I think CT is 31 and his gf is 23.

It was only after some of my Chemo pills went missing that I told Aviv because I was scared that it could seriously harm the person who took them and I wanted to find out who was taking other peoples pills. (Sadly this happens a lot, but in my case taking those pills could do real damage, especially since they didn’t have cancer.
Have we heard anything else about this before?!?!?! I wonder who took her pills?

My guess would be follow up cancer screening. You are not officially cured until you are cancer free 5 years from last treatment I think.

Since Diem has not been explict in her tweets, I think we should regard the matter as private.
I will ask that prayers to the diety of your choice or private expressions of hope for her well being be offered if you are a spiritual person. If she gives me license in a few days to tell people what is going on, I'll update this post.

Actually Diem has tweeted about what is going on. She needs surgery to have a 10cm tumor removed. Also, her CA125 levels are elevated. CA125 is a tumor marker for ovarian cancer. I actually know this because I watched an interview with Diem after Fresh Meat 1. She is currently in the process of getting several opinions from doctors.
I've kept her in my prayers ever since I read those tweets. I really feel for her, she's come a long way and finally seems to have put so much behind her. Of course I'm hoping that it's just a scare, but I'm really sorry that she is having to experience this.

She was communicating privately with some people via DM on twitter, but sometimes you send things to many more people than intendeded... Anyway, Diem decided today to post on facebook about her surgery tomorrow. Here is her facebook update:
"Surgery-Schmergery lol going in tomorrow morning, so today I am mentally prepping. Praying to remain positive no matter what the outcome. I feel really calm & at peace which I know that comes from having FAITH ;) Faith to me is the safety net you need when the rug gets pulled from underneath you. ;) Hope you all are well & please remember, if you feel constant pain in your body get it check out! Pain is a great alarm clock telling you to go to the doctor! ;)"
I don't have twitter and have very little understanding of how it works. Diem posted the information about the CA125 results and the surgery about a week ago. I can't tell if it was meant to be a private message or for the public, but she did make a disclaimer that it might fall under the category of TMI. In any event, thanks for passing on the information about the surgery tomorrow. I will continue to pray for her. Maybe with the understanding that people are praying for her, Diem will realize just a little bit of comfort. I hope she continues to stay strong.

Please check your PMs.
I've said a couple prayers for her today and trust that she will do well. Somebody has been tweeting her hatefulness about it already. It takes a special kind of sicko to be that evil. Expressing a critical opinion is one thing--but taunting somebody about a serious health issue is indefensible by any standard of reason or compassion.

It would appear that the offending tweeter was removed from Twitter. There is always at least one piece of excrement out there masquerading as a human...
I hope everything goes alright with Diem. Still there were/are times where she annoyed the hell outta me but this is sad. I still want her to pull through.
I've watched her since day 1, my first impression of her was that she was strong...I just know that she'll overcome this one, much love to this beautiful strong woman.
I wasn't a big fan of her on tv. I think she got a bad edit.
But this interview slightly changed my irrelevant and unimportant opinion of her. I am glad she is helping patients. I've been inside some hospitals, and patients can be down right suicidal from their depression. Glad she is at least trying to help them feel better. But how genuine she is I don't know.
The cancer is back, what a nightmare for Diem. Just when things seemed to be going really well for her. Career on track, Medgift progressing, seems to be happy in the relationship with her boyfriend and now this. I'll continue to pray for her. Maybe she won't need to have chemo again. The thought of her losing her hair again is just too much. Ugh this is so sad.
