Nope. I want him to win over Jessica, hands down.
Me too. I do not like Jessica, I think she is a copycat performer that doesnt have her own style of way of siging, her youth shows and she is very boring. I honestly dont think her career will go anywhere unless she goes overseas adn that is a stretch. I dont like P2 but I like him better than Jessica. I dont think he will do well outside of AI. I also disagree with whoever said Colton is the only one who will sell records out of this bunch. Colton is targeting a contemporary christian music, which in the KLove world will work great but rarely do artists make a crossover between the two and when they do it's usually only 1 song. I think Skylar will faulter after the show, the bluesy rock thing just isnt in. Elise, although I love her, will be a pub singer I think. I think she could be great but Idk if anyone will give her a good record deal. Joshua will end up singing gospel music in a church somewhere (Ruben) and you will be wondering what happend to that kid tha they said was one of the two best idols ever. Hollie to me is the only one with potential to make it on the charts today. She has her own style, she like contemporary music and she fits in with what is relevant today. I think they should just do away with the judges next year as well as Jimmy and see how America votes without any interference from bias opinions from people who can sway votes.

No one really stood out to me and had something different at all. The bolded part: One of the many reasons why I think they shouldn't have the "save" because it would be a different finale had JLo not stomped onto the stage and "saved" Jessica that one night.

JESSICA FOR THE WIN!!! After 5 years of white males dominating this competition, there's a chance that a female (especially a minority) to win this competition!! Jessica has the most Facebook and Twitter followers, and in an age where the music industry is dominated by female performers, and is becoming more digital, Jessica is a record label dream! You go to American Idol YouTube channel, and list the videos based on most views Jessica is basically the whole Top 5, and a lot of her performances made the Top 10. Her most watched performance "I will always love you" had close to 5 million views! Her closest competitor is Joshua with almost 2 million views. Jessica is dominating the digital realm for this season. I work in the music industry. Just like I see it, Jimmy sees it, and Tommy Mottola sees it, and many music industry veterans sees it, Jessica is a superstar waiting to happen. I could see her performing at the Grammy's a few years from now. Her star power is amazing! If Phillip wins, he will just be another flop WGWG (white guy with guitar). It sad when out of 6 male winners, only 2 have deals with their label and 4 have been dropped, and they sold a total of 7 million albums in the USA together, and there's 4 female winners who all are still signed, and have a total of 30 million albums sold. I'm not even going to include single sales, because it will really look bad on Amerian Idol fans that vote. Jessica Sanchez should win Idol! Especially for the show sake! It will be too predictable if Phillip wins, because I will know a white guy will always win, no matter how superior the other contestant may be. America usually always gets it wrong.

Half the people that watch that probably don't even vote. Digital realm or not, it's not going to matter in the long run. She'll be forgotten in a few years and overshadowed by another Idol winner. The cycle will just continue.

I haven't seen this passion about a contestant in a while! Jessica is current, and with the right Pop/R&B song she will dominate the charts as well. Universal/Interscope isn't Sony Music/RCA...they have a strong sense of Hip-Pop and R&B. They also know how to make niche artist superstars. There's a reason that both Scotty & Lauren (a runner-up) both outsold season 9 & 8 winner Lee & Kris. Jessica is more mainstream, and giving her songs like "If I were a boy," "Irreplaceable," "We Belong Together," "Umbrella," "We found love," "California King Bed," "What's my name," "Only Girl" and the list goes on, she can easily be a star. She's Commercial with a capital C. Fab you know I love you, but if you think that Jessica will fail, you need to do more research on Universal Music, Universal Music Publishing, and Interscope records.

I went to a school known for Music Business. I STILL took a majority of MUSIC BUSINESS classes in college and know what I'm talking about. I'm also pretty sure the words "She'll fail in this business" never came out of my mouth. I just don't think she'll EVER perform at the Grammy's or do too well in the industry. Sure, she'll be great for maybe an album, but after that, probably not. America moves on. Another part about being "commercial" is you have to have the personality, which I haven't seen any from her at all. She has a powerful voice, don't get me wrong, I just don't see her going too far. I can also tell you the main reason Scotty and Lauren outsold two previous winners...that's because it's country music. Most country music singers that have been on Idol have prevailed in some way or the other, even Bucky Convington. You ask any country fan and they've heard of him. I don't need to do research. I know more than you think I do. No one I know that watches this show, other than you, likes Jessica and ranks her under Hollie, Joshua, and some even Phillip. There's a reason why she was technically voted off the show already. In my opinion, the save was luck. I've never liked that rule and never will. If in a few years she's got a few number one albums then you can say, "I told you so," but until she wins and then "makes it big," I'm going to continue to argue the fact with you.

That's the type of music she will be making. I seriously can't wait to tell you "I told you so" hahaha Oh man time needs to go by faster! When it comes to music my gut usually gets it right. I don't want to sound cocky, but I usually know when a song will become a hit, and what direction an artist should go. They need to release "Tupelo" and "The Middle." I seriously believe "Tupelo" could be that crossover hit she needs. BTW, I brought up Lauren because last season you said she will go nowhere, and now she's on a sold-out touring, I shouldn't brag about it yet considering she's the opening act lol, but soon.

As for your "gut" feeling...I believe you're the one that told me she was going to get eliminated tonight...and predicted Lauren would get eliminated before the finals last year...you really know where they are going... BTW, I never said she'd go nowhere. It's country music. They always have a better chance than anyone if they go far on Idol. And that "sold-out" tour is for Jason Aldean, not Lauren. Just saying.

Plus my "gut feeling" reference was about music & artist, not where Idol contestant will land in this show they obviously don't vote the way the charts are going. That's why I said I shouldn't brag about Lauren yet, because she's an opening act. To you Jessica sounds like the original, and that's the reason why she will succeed. Uh, who?
I have been saying Phillip is a lesser version of Dave Matthews since the first time I saw him perform live!! LOL Jessica haters say she's just a copy cat, but Phillip is the exact copy of Dave Matthews! In fact Dave Matthews even mentioned he should retire, and let Phillip take over his band since he does the same exact things. This is the issue of bringing instruments to a singing competition. People get confuse and they automatically assume if you play an instrument you're a "true artist" lol. FYI this is a SINGING competition, and if the best SINGER is suppose to win, Jessica should take the title! Phillip even admitted himself that Jessica is a better singer than him. Ever since the inclusion of instruments white males have dominated the show, because people believe they're "artistic" when in fact they are just another singer/songwriter that you could find in many local coffee shops in NYC. I can't tell you how many Phillips I passed through my life. Jessica for being 16, and singing the way she does, wow! There's a reason we see something special in her! She will be a huge star!! She's done things with her voice that people double or triple her age can't accomplish. Add life experience, and I could already see the superstar she will become! BTW here's a video of Phillip & Dave Matthews, Phillip is an exact copy of him: Phillip Phillips is Dave Matthews - YouTube BTW for the encore song, should Jessica sing: "I Will always love you" http://youtu.be/kPX-H3KGjJI or "The Prayer" http://youtu.be/Ai4KtuTjSt4

Since Joshua isn't there, Jessica needs to win by default. Phillip should have been gone weeks ago! I still can't get over how horrible his performance of "Time of the season" was! I even say it was probably the worst performance of the whole Top 13!
I told you they were going to be eliminated, because America has been getting it wrong for the past few seasons.
There's a lot I agree and disagree with on both sides of the coin in this thread but I wanted to address this statement in particular because I see and hear this specific thing all over the place these days. America cannot get it wrong because they control the votes. AI is not a musical contest and it's not a singing contest, it's a vote-based-on-whatever-criteria-you-want contest, which amounts to a vote for Prom King/Queen. Everyone has their own tastes. Personally I would have preferred Elise and Hollie to be the final 2. But I can't get it wrong and America can't get it wrong because the question posed doesn't have a binary answer.

I always viewed the show, as the place to find the next big star. That's how it has been promoted in the early days. When a runner-up outsells the winner (David Archuleta, Crystal, Adam) America got it wrong. I have an issue with the show, once again cause of the dominance of white males, the past couple of years. I will be fine with them winning, if they sold albums, or even if white male musicians dominated the charts. It's obvious the people voting for them in the show, don't consume their music. It's really sad that the minute I saw Phillp audition I knew he was going to end up in the Top 2 at least, with a huge possibility of winning. There's a problem if the show becomes that predictable. What's the point of voting or investing in a contestant if I know a white guy is going to win, even if he isn't the best of his season (which has been the case by sales the past 4 seasons). The only wgwg I see that made a case for the title was David Cook, his post-idol career was badly manage, because he had potential (I still liked Archuleta better as a star potential). America gets it wrong when the winners don't represent todays current stars. If the winner is going to be someone different, or different sound from what's popular in the charts (ex:Adele), that winner needs to be succesul or at least the most successful in his/her season, if they aren't America got it wrong. The issue isn't who should win, or personal music taste, or even who's most likeable. The issue for me is that the same type of guy wins & dominates the show.

This is my favorite TV show ever, and Phillip winning sends me the message thaf it's time to stop watching, because the same generic person will win.
I get what you're saying producer88, and I agree with the predictability and the thing about PP (I can't see what people see in him either). But I still think AI is a success, if you're not just trying to find the next star, have that person win and go platinum. They still pull in a ton of ratings/advertising dollars and find several people per season who generate some amount of profit for the industry, so the net result seems like a win from my perspective. If I am somewhat entertained along the way (taking the bad lumps with the good), it's a net positive for me as well.

1. Most of the Billboard Top 100 is so over-sampled and auto-tuned that I question how much singing talent really matters to the record industry or its customers. 2. American Idol makes its money when the show is on by the ratings and by the downloads. What success anyone has afterwards is largely irrelevant to the franchise. 3. To say that Phillip Phillips shouldn't win because he is white male is a pretty sad position. The guy has been battling renal failure which I understand is pretty excruciating but wants to stay on the show. There is nothing America likes more than someone with some charm, talent, and a sappy feel-good storyline. It makes great TV and the more people root for him, the more the show makes. The AI audience is vested in him and he will win. 4. No matter how vocally solid a 16 year old is, they do not have the presence to be able to add authenticity to songs about anything other than puppy-love pop songs and Justin Bieber has that market cornered. 5. Considering how many people vote against the show's ratings, it is not a stretch to say that the winners win because a portion of the audience is so into the show and the person that they go to insane lengths to cast a bazillion votes for their person. That makes the show a success regardless of who they vote for.
I won't ever be apologizing. I just don't want Jessica to win and I don't think she'll make it in the "biz." Idol is fizzing out and so is the popularity of their stars, year by year.
Fizzing out? *****. She's expected to do just fine.

It just seems really suspect let alone the fact that he sucks anyway

Not saying I'm a teenage girl or anything but Phillip should win.

If he were he would be in a hospital. He had a kidney stone, he had surgery months ago to have it removed, yes when you have a stone it feels worst than giving birth, but once it is removed you are just a little sore and you move on. This kid is milking the whole I had kidney problems for all that he can. It is quite silly and sort of annoying that he gets out of doing things he should be doing and that he is trying to make people feel sorry for him when he had a stone removed months ago. Tbh I know this is mean but he sounds like a spoiled brat.....I still want him to win over the overhyped, overpraised, overpimped...illegally voted for Jessica Sanchez.

I rarely ever hear him talk about it! It's usually someone else bringing it up!
