Mark and Robin

Mark and Robin first met while on opposing teams during the Battle Of The Sexes 2. Their relationship was short-lived, but the two maintained a steady friendship. Over the years, the former lovebirds have gone their separate ways, with Mark pursuing a TV hosting career and Robin proudly embracing single-motherhood and looking forward to "the opportunity to come to a Challenge and make money to better my life." When reunited as a team, Robin is thrilled at her still muscle-bound ex, who she touts as, "Balanced, calm, and an overall great athlete." But a disappointed Mark recalls his partner's horrible Challenge record, lamenting, "Getting Robin as a partner is like getting dealt a ****, and you can only shine and polish a **** so much." Will this veteran odd couple be able to overcome their different viewpoints and battle their way to Challenge victory?

I never thought I'd be rooting so hard for Robin to do well.
I think Robin looks especially pretty this challenge. I like the smaller frame on her and I'm glad she had a reduction of her twins...
What has happened to Robin? On the very first duel she was very social and wasn't so emotional. I think if we can get the Robin from the Gauntlet 3 she has a good chance at winning a challenge.
I love brunette Robin. I'm glad she hasn't reverted back to the blonde hair she used to have. Ick.

She used to seem so confident when she first started the challenges. Maybe it's just me, but it irritates me the lack of respect she is shown. Of course, in the past she was known to show others disrespect so I guess maybe Karma may have come back to bite. And ...it could be something that I am not aware of that causes the other contestants to treat her that way and good behavior has never been a top priority on these challenges. She even said on one of the videos that Mark wasn't really talking to her. I hope not to be disillusioned where Mark is concerned because he has been one of my favorites in the past :swoon:. I have always liked Robin though, and am glad to see her back for the last two challenges.

At the time he was pitching his own idea for a challenge that would have been something like RW vs RR All Stars with himself as one of the two team captains.

I think people started treating her poorly after the Gauntlet 3 finale , she was kept as one of the top four girls on the vets team. On the island she was made victim by Kenny. While on the Duel 2 everyone thought as was crazy. For Mark not even speaking to Robin, they're partnership doesn't seem to promising.
She is looking really beautiful this season, I have always loved Robin. Her main issue is she doesn't allow her self to fake it, which in a partner game, is needed. Even if you can't stand the people, pretend to. But that's why I love her lol.

I wonder if BMP may have made some promise to him to get him not only to participate in this one but to team with Robin. He doesn't seem the type to go against the grain on what he wants or is willing to do. Are Mark and Robin even friends? They don't seem to have any chemistry together as a team or even act comfortable around each other. I think their past relationship has made them feel awkward and that's the case with CT and Diem, also. I was hoping they would be able to bridge the gap and come away with a positive experience from being on the challenge together, at least. :girl_sad:
Didn't take a rocket scientist to deduct from Mark's facial expression as TJ described the challenge concept in Episode 1 that he was less than enthused with having Robin as his partner.
I found it incredibly ironic during the Honey Challenge in episode one when Diem mentioned that she was jealous of teams who were able to be exes and work well together (And then mentioned both Johnny/Camilla and Mark/Robin). Haha, as if...
Robin gave a reality check to Mark on Derrick's podcast because she didn't like the way he was treating her. It's hard not to like Mark and I know Robin has a reputation for being a little scatterbrained, but does anyone else get the feeling that Mark only began taking on this attitude towards Robin because all the popular guys constantly make fun of her and talk about her (Johnny, Evan, Kenny etc)? It's kind of like high school where he's liked by all the popular guys and wants to fit in easily with them, so the popular guys ragging on the weird girl leads him to have this dismissive attitude towards her on the challenge.

I agree. I was just going to post something similar. I mean Robin may overthink the game and have gotten much stranger each challenge, but she isn't Casey. I feel like Mark came in and made it clear "I am stuck with her" and everyone is like if they are not dominating, it has to be her. I mean Mark is in great shape, doesn't mean he has to dominate though. Plenty of guys who you would think woudl do well don't their are a ton of variables in each challenge/mission. Mark is kind of buying into his own hype at this point which is a shame. They(podcast crew) always have a fall person, and they never seem to blame themselves, so it's obvious the group bully dynamic once again is taking place. Derrick posting the topics discussed was like a shocking reailty check or something, like how can ANYONE say anything bad about the great Mark long? Give me a break, guy has never been in an elimination. If Mark is in the main alliance, why does it matter if Robin has 0 social game. Do they need it? that would still mean one of the guys would have to turn on Mark, however they want to rationalize it. Which i am sure if Johnny did turn on him, he would say it's because of Robin. it's an easy excuse to be shady. Just using Johnny as example because they are friends, not picking on him.
Didn't take a rocket scientist to deduct from Mark's facial expression as TJ described the challenge concept in Episode 1 that he was less than enthused with having Robin as his partner.
Obviously, but I can't see Mark going into this challenge without knowing the concept of it because he has been in a relationship with BMP for such a long time. Was it just for the dramatic effect because we "KNOW" that MTV doesn't do anything to set in motion any storyline to create drama????? LOL. Robin does tend to overthink things and she has no filter for things that come out of her mouth so her social game does tend to suffer...but she's still my girl. I would love to see her get her confidence back but if you are continuously made fun of and bullied it takes a toll to your ego whether you are a child or an adult. But, would any of us watch this show without the drama? Camille and jojorules, I think you have great perception and valid points in your assessments. I don't have anything against Mark but I look at him with a new set of eyes now. I think he was selfless in some of his early challenges or else editing made it seem that way. Camille, I didn't know of Robin's podcast with Derrick but I will have to check it out.

Robin is just the latest Tonya. Production keeps them cooped up so the cast finds someone to focus their dissatisfaction on. Its like The Lord of the Flies on this show and will likely always be that way from now on.
I love Robin. She has really changed a lot and I respect her for that. She's come a long way. I guess having a kid will do that to you. The way Mark is treating her is just disrespectful. The way you are able to deal with your partner is the difference between getting first in this challenge or getting something less. Not sure how he doesn't understand this.
Paula making the comment on the aftershow about Robing crying. Really, Paula, is that the pot calling the kettle black. Don't get me wrong, I like Paula but has she not looked at herself on past challenges and reunions...Great Day!!!!

Mark is playing a game he has always played well, and therefore knows Robin is a liability. Not only because of her own insecurities and seemingly lack of social skills, but because of her horrible game play in the past. I don't think ANYONE would've wanted to be paired with Robin given her past issues. I'm not saying she's a bad person, but she did earn her reputation as a liability. She can't just erase it now until she proves otherwise. I haven't seen Mark treat Robin disrespectfully nor speak very badly about her so far on the show. He has been honest about his opinion of her. He doesn't hate her, but didn't want her as a partner and doesn't feel comfortable around her for reasons you're probably not going to hear about. Just because they have history doesn't mean he owes her some sort of emotional intimacy. He seems to be handling her just fine with his approach. Whether or not she has one of her meltdowns is out of his control. He can't coddle nor hold her hand to victory. That gets very old very quickly. Why is is that when someone is an alliance with Johnny, Evan, or Kenny, their behavior or actions are automatically pinned on them? You're giving them way too much power. Plenty of people go on this show with their own opinions and strategies. Mark is definitely playing with a strategy, but I don't see his personal feelings about Robin being influenced by anyone other than himself. People already like Mark, so this theory about his treating poor Robin badly because he wants to be one of the cool kids doesn't fit IMO.
Honestly, I wasn't looking foward to see her. But she has grown on me. She looks better than ever and she has performed well this challenge overall. I really hope she wins some money.
Her performance has been alright, but her mental state has crashed and burned. Something has seriously snapped in her head. Last night when she couldn't even have a normal conversation with Ty & Emily because, "too many people have burned her in the past" was a red flag for me. She should probably stop with the challenges. They're too mentally taxing on her. As much as I enjoy seeing true veterans on these shows, they're doing her way more harm than good.

How do we know when this scene actually occurred with Ty and Emily with all the editing that goes on with reality shows? If editing can make a favorite like Mark look better and Robin look like the weak link, they may work the angle to that advantage. There just seemed something off with the whole randomness of that scene compared to everything else in that episode. Maybe I am completely wrong with my interpretation of this, it won't be the first or last time I have or will be wrong.

I expect there will be some source info coming soon to illuminate when in the challenge timeline that discussion actually took place.

Found this recent picture. Does anyone know if she is doing okay now days?

Last I remember her on social media was her posting weird tweets about her husband then 10 minutes replying from her own account to them and she was always looking for him on twitter. Then that weird Facebook post from like a year or 2 ago that was posted on here.

Her psych ward needs better lighting

Poor Robin...

Aw that picture breaks my heart she looks so broken. I hope she's okay, I loved Robin back in the day

You could always tell she was very emotionally vulnerable and susceptible Sad

sexes 2 Robin was so much fun to watch. The game didn't get to her yet, she had happy energy and did extremely well her rookie season. I miss her, hope she's doing well.
