Real World: San Diego (2011) - All the Wrong Moves

What are they going to do on the reunion? I mean this is the third aftershow either about Zach and or Ashley and the hottest topic gay issues.
LOL, tonights episode was just that--full of laughter. Alex was wrong for her little surprise but not really. And Frank needs to just flat admit his sexuality. I'm not really into effiminate males but Ashley getting that lapdance was almost hot. The rest of the episode boring and that website launch was just there this week for the sake of being there.
Tonight's episode was pretty boring, honestly. At one point, I found Frank annoying but he was tolerable - now he's becoming intolerable, annoying and narcissistic. Everything has to be about him and since no one else in the cast seems to have interesting storylines (surprise, surprise), as usual... it's all about Frank and how he's always the "victim"
Honestly, this season is such a disappointment. With such a great city like San Diego, this season had so much potential. They could have shown them at the beach doing nothing for every single episode and it probably would have been better than these ****** episodes. Beach, Surf, Party, Bar Hopping, Fun, Hook ups, Fights. These should be the focus for each episode. but we get LGBT issues over and over and over and...you get the picture. Don't get me wrong, it's and important issue that does need to be addressed and have recognition but not in every single episode.
I totally agree. I was listening to Derek's podcast a few months ago and he had some of the Las Vegas '10 cast members on and Nany was saying how so many people came up to her when their season was airing saying "I stopped watching the RW years ago but your season made me fall in love with it again" and etc... and I'm just upset because Vegas got RW back to where it SHOULD have been. The storylines were good, the ratings were consistently good and unlike this season, they all seemed to have a connection as a cast, it never felt forced... and now coming into this season everything has just been a let down.
I couldn't agree more. For Frank to sugggest that he had never been in a relationship so he "didn't" understand why Mike was upset, is totally stupid thinking. The man is 23 years old, a college graduate, obviously very articulate, but totally screwed up in how he is wired. As I recall when I was in college, you learn pretty quickly about relationships. What is right and what is wrong. It is the part of the education you don't pay tuition for, but is what helps shape and mold you as a person. I'm pretty sure I'm done watching the rest of this season. I have no interested in watching people get drunk every Wednesday night, arguing with each other, and taking no responsibility for themselves and justifying their idiotic decsions.
Zach must have so much self-control not to just beat the crap out of Frank. Whenever Zach speaks, Frank has to judge him. Frank get over it, not everyone is going to be comfortable with your sexuality right away, you weren't even comfortable with it the first few episodes of the show. Its an awkward topic, you don't need to bring it up every argument.
I'm actually starting to *gulp* like Ashley.... She's kind of dull and annoying, and doesn't seem to have anything going on in her head, but at least she isn't Frank. Good lord he is insufferable. What I can't believe is how on the aftershow, he was all about Nate and Alex's opinions, and then if Zach or Ashley said something similar, like how they both liked Michael, he would have some snippy comment. We get it, Frank, you don't like them. And I've seen some of his twitter, and anytime Zach or Ashley say something nice about Frank, he goes off on this whole rant about how they're "acting" or "fake". Get over it. Granted, none of the other roommates seem to be Zach or Ashley's biggest fans, but that seems to have more to do with the fact that they didn't try very hard to get to know anybody else, whereas Frank just can't let it go. He makes everything about him. Also, when Ashley said people have different comfort levels and she wasn't comfortable with the lapdance, but Frank was, he was all "exactly. and I have a different comfort level than you". So basically they have to understand his comfort level (which is waaay above the norm), but he can't be respectful of their comfort level? Alex, Sam, and Priscilla are great though. I think Priscilla was kind of a dumb casting decision, but I really like her so I don't care.

 this season is painfully boring, SOS
I've finally caught to with all the episodes, needless to say, I didn't miss much. This season is beyond sleeping pills status. I'd rather watch a Spurs vs Pacers game. This episode was filled with MTV's on going gay propaganda. Hell, this season as a whole has mainly been focused with gay issues. I have no problem with giving a little dosage, but damn, there aren't other cast members in the house who interesting? What about there story? The only person who has done anything ambitious and interesting is Nate. Heather Marter was the least interesting person from Vegas 2, but I'll take her in a heartbeat than these girls on this season. When is the challenge?
I'm trying to figure out if this season is boring because of the editing, or because of the uninteresting people in the house. I do think Zach, Nate, and Sam are interesting though.

I mean, those are two playoff-caliber teams. No Cleveland - Minnesota love? Nothing is worse than the two worst teams duking it out.
I'm trying to figure out if this season is boring because of the editing, or because of the uninteresting people in the house. I do think Zach, Nate, and Sam are interesting though.
Well the spoilers for this season (people who were actually spotting the cast members without all the editing) were boring. I think someone posted on here that a production member said this cast was pretty boring. And i don't care what people say about the DC and Philly seasons, those casts were way more interesting than these people. The only ones i like are Zach and Nate. Everyone else is annoying.
Really? I mean, those are two playoff-caliber teams. No Cleveland - Minnesota love? I like the Pacers though. I think I'd rather watch a Australian soccer game than this right now...
Would you guys rather watch Road Rules: Viewer's Revenge than this season? This season is awful, but it still won't go down as the worst RW/RR/TC season ever.
Would you guys rather watch Road Rules: Viewer's Revenge than this season? This season is awful, but it still won't go down as the worst RW/RR/TC season ever.
Ok, this isn't the worst season...
Would you guys rather watch Road Rules: Viewer's Revenge than this season? This season is awful, but it still won't go down as the worst RW/RR/TC season ever.
Yes, Abram, Shane, Adam L., Veronica, Tina, Dan <3 Even though that season sucked, those personalities were so much more entertaining than Zach, Frank, Alex, Priscilla, etc..
Watching the Spurs play is really boring, they are a defense-minded team, and I'm sure most people like the scoring aspect of basketball the most. I like the Pacers though. They were 6th last year in points per game behind only OKC, Phx, NYK, Den, and Hou. This season is quite boring but you shouldn't call the Spurs a boring basketball team. Compare this season to a Bucks-Bobcats game if you want to call it boring.
Yes, If i had a decision I would watch RRVR then again there would be no Sam, no Priscilla and no Alex and I'd be sad.

I'm a Knicks fan, so I don't have anything against the spurs, but with players today like Blake Griffin and Lebron James, the Spurs aren't as interesting. They play fundamental basketball and are getting old. But anyways, A Bucks-Bobcats game is the perfect definition of this season.
The only reality show that is more sophmoric than this season of Real World, is A-List Dallas. And guess who Frank keeps tweeting? That blonde idiot cowboy from A-List Dallas. They probably deserve each other the way they treat people.
Yes, Abram, Shane, Adam L., Veronica, Tina, Dan <3 Even though that season sucked, those personalities were so much more entertaining than Zach, Frank, Alex, Priscilla, etc..
You mean Kina. Zach and Priscilla are actually pretty interesting to me but they should have saved P for when she was 21.I realy don't think he is homophobic,It just the only way Frank can have leverage over him but Zach really hates him for being a trashy low down human being that has no self respect for themselves,I'm sure if Zach lived with Derek or Mike(DC),even J.D he wouldn't have that big of a problem. When I think homophibic I thin Ryan(New Orleans) and Stephan(Denver) best recent examples. Zach is being forced to deal with the LGBT community at every turn with little to know break in between it's kinda unfair actually.
You mean Kina. Zach and Priscilla are actually pretty interesting to me but they should have saved P for when she was 21.
Yea i meant Kina lol. But the overall VR's cast, even the rookies(forgot the term they used) was more interesting and entertaining than these people. Zach and Nate are the only ones i find ok at this point. Everyone else is a waste of a casting decision.
I haven't read many posts regarding this season over the past few weeks, but I know towards the beginning Zach and Ashley were getting a lot of hate. I can say this....I like them both LIGHT YEARS more than I like Frank. Frank is very quick to say that the reason he doesn't get along with them is because they are super conservative and against him being gay. Well...explain why they got along with Michael so well? Frank, face it, you're an *******. THAT is why you don't get along with them.

Frank is like Ty and Erika from DC's love child if, you know, that woulda happened. I can see him as a child screaming at the top of his lungs, "I'm rubber; you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you" as he walked around smashing stuff.
Frank is simply talking nonsense. If you are willing to be monogamous and really in love it does not matter whether it's your first relationship, whether you are very young, old, have just come out, etc. This season really is a mess. The likeable and interesting people get no storylines at all (perhaps there are none, but I can't really believe that) and the others are just a pain to see.
Frank (Real World, Connor): 60 points. A month ago I wrote this of the Real World's resident alcopsycholic Frank and his new boyfriend, Michael: "Frank has a better chance of diving into a pool and coming out dry than not ruining this relationship in a drunken rage. If the two of them end up getting married, as they discussed just after meeting each other, I will chop off my right thumb." Good news: I get to keep my prehensile digit. To be fair, predicting that Frank would drown this relationship in a toilet bowl of lemon-drop shots was like predicting that water will be wet, the sky will be blue, or after a lockout Raymond Felton will look less like an NBA point guard and more like M.O.P's Lil Fame. Let's follow these Jager-shot-crossed lovers through this episode: 1. The Honeymoon Period: We open with Michael and Frank making out in the hot tub (5 kissing points + 10 hot-tub bonus points). They are that overly affectionate couple you can't stand being around because they are so happy. If Their Relationship Were an NBA Team, Which One Would It Be?: The Celtics. Cohesive, consistent, boring at times, and on the verge of chemistry problems. 2. The Humpty Dance: Frank's therapist told him to "curb his drinking," and for the most part Frank had listened. Until this week. You see, when Frank has had a few (dozen) too many cocktails in him, he just wants to dance. His dancing technique makes those YouTube ottoman-******* dudes look like Fred Astaire. Frank cannot stop ******* things. He humps Ashley, he humps Ashley's hot redhead friend (can we get a storyline for this gorgeous ginger before she leaves, please?), he humps chairs, and he humps poles. After watching his monogamous boyfriend hump his way around the club for a couple hours, Frank's boyfriend Michael leaves him mid-hump to grab some pizza. If Their Relationship Were an NBA Team, Which One Would It Be? The Memphis Grizzlies. Inconsistent, enjoying fatty foods, clashing philosophically, and having communication problems. 3. Betrayal and Immediate Forgiveness: With Michael two and a half hours away (or so Frank thought), Frank hit the town. And the bottle (5 points). What does he hump this time? Some dude named Todd (25 points). Little does Frank know that boyfriend Michael is en route for a surprise breakfast visit. At breakfast, Frank has that sophomore-year-in-college-still-drunk-in-the-morning-and-not-yet-hungover-so-still-giddy vibe, which loosens his lips enough to tell Michael what happened. Michael reacts like anyone who just found out that his significant other was coitusing someone on the side: He snuggles up and forgives him immediately. That happened. If Their Relationship Were an NBA Team, Which One Would It Be? The Lakers. Fine on the surface, exuding confidence, soft at heart but with doom on the horizon. 4. The Dumpty Dance: After Frank's boyfriend Michael left, he did something I imagine a lot of people under 30 do: breaks up with him over e-mail. To be honest, it is a good play and shouldn't be frowned upon. During the actual act, breaking up with someone is much harder than being broken up with. Breaking up with someone in person you have to watch them cry (20 points), which inevitably leads to sympathy, which will make you leave the door open for reconciliation. Also, most important, you just don't have a natural way out of the conversation. If you're going to break up with someone in person, you should have a bus, train, or plane to catch in ten minutes. That's the only way it can go smoothly. "Look, babe, it's not you, it's me. I think we should see other people. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm late for the 4:37 to Ronkonkoma." If Their Relationship Were an NBA Team, Which One Would It Be? Any of them -- during the lockout. Nate (Real World, Kang): 35 points. Nate did some making out (10 points) with his boss, Michelle, and at 2 a.m. convinced her to come to the house to coitus him (25 points) with the following exchange: Nate: "Hey. Where you be?" Michelle: "I be at my house. Where are you? At your house?" Nate: "Oh, boo boo boo." Michelle: "I just got home. What do you mean? I was downtown." Nate: "Can I please have you at my house now?" Michelle: "Not if you just expect me to come over there so you can get some action. I don't think that sounds like ... " Nate: "Oh, I thought it was going to actually be cute, because you would have, like, brought me a burrito and then blah blah blah." [He actually said "blah blah blah." That was not me paraphrasing.] Michelle: "BWHAHAHAHAHAHA" [She finds this hilarious] Nate: "I just wanted to see if you would come over so I could snuggle for a little bit, and then all of a sudden you're an *******." Michelle: "Um, yeah. I'll come over." Nate: [Shocked that this is actually working] Michelle: "I'll be there in like 45 minutes." Nate: "I guess I will let you in." [Michelle arrives] Nate: "Come on, can you spend the night? Michelle: "Okay." Okay, let's review. Nate booty-calls his boss at 2 a.m. and asks her to come over. She says she won't if he just expects some action. He asks her to bring a burrito and calls her an *******. She agrees to come over. He says, "I guess I will let you in." She gives him some action. I have never understood or attempted the "act like a jerk to get what you want" game. Can someone explain this to me?
via
This is very sad. After each episode of Rivals, I had to scroll through dozens of posts, usually +5 "long" pages before replying, to make sure I didn't repeat anything. Now, I only have to read about 1 and a half pages... This was an ok episode, it makes me want to watch more of the season. Zack and Ashley's relationship is interesting; I like the fact that they're not all about having sex (actually, Zack, Ashley, and Alex aren't about having sex, so it balances out Priscilla, Nate and Frank). And I LOVE that she stood up for herself in the club! I actually respect her much more. In the beginning it seemed like she was Zack's lapdog, but you can tell that she has her own personality, now that she's won him over.
Watching Frank make out with Mike is so disgusting lol. And im usually all for some homoerotic on tv but Frank is so repulsive.
Frank is portrayed as a terrible person, and that's how I feel about him for now. Even watching the after show, he's a d-bag. "I've never ever ever ever had a relationship". So? You still know what cheating is; don't act like and ignorant ***** (wait, he is and ignorant *****, I guess... but regarding different things). I'm years than him and I know that what he did is wrong. Like kuguy said, he's smart enough to know what he did. And jesses_girl I agree with you! They really need to stop showing Frank and Mike's PDA. It's not because they're gay, I support the gay/bi lifestyle 100%, but it's just too much on-screen PDA for one couple. Ah... Mike. He was perfect. I feel bad for Nate... The ping pong scene with Zack made him look like an ***, but I also feel for Michelle, because that was quite mean. I don't think he meant to hurt her, he genuinely thought they were on the same page (by the way, couldn't you smell the argument a mile away? They showed him saying that too many times, you knew there would be a problem); he just expected her to know that he was there to have fun, not to have a relationship.
But I will agree that Chet is a crap host. I like him on the challenges he's done but he comes off very biased and holier than thou. [...] And I know I would get crucified for saying this but I think, from hearing them on Derrick's show, that Kenny and Johnny would make good hosts. They probably wouldn't use Kenny because of what's going on with the Tonya thing, but I still think either of them would probably do a pretty good job.
I won't crucify you! They're the kind of hosts that draw listeners in, especially Johnny B. He gives his opinion, and asks for others'. We haven't had any additional information of the trial for a while, so I won't judge them, I can't say "Tonya's right because they have been *****s to women on every show" or "JB and Ken are innocent because Tonya's been instable on every show". I love Chet though. I don't think he's an *****, he's just very straight-forward. It was a definitely insensitive when he put Zachley on blast, but other than that, I think he asks the questions that listeners want answers to. Honestly, I don't understand why people say that the city determines how much fun a season will be. Denver is a boring town. Key West is kind of fun - for 5 days. But both seasons were entertaining because Denver had a psychopath (Brooke; I'm in love with love her), a wh*re (Jenn), a hot bi guy and two guys who were against homosexuality... Key West had an anorexic girl (it was very informative for me, as a young woman, to watch her journey), a d-bag, a sweet 18 (or 19?) year old, a fun "frat" guy, etc. The people, not the town, make the season.
I personally really like this season not as great as last season but better than Key West through New Orleans 2 for me.
Random Observation: Nate made a comment of his twitter a few nights back saying that the edit was horrible for this last episode. He said he went out with Michelle that evening, and that the fight was over something else. He even evidenced it with her wearing a different outfit. Funnily enough, that tweet has been taken down. (Either that or I am a total idiot who just does not know how to navigate twitter land, which is a total possibility) Random Observation 2: Dylan is on twitter (if it really is him) with a MTV tag on his name, but Michelle is no where to be found. Found that kind of interesting.
