I don't think he made up the suicides. I just think he is making a huge deal out of it to get airtime, and had it planned all along that he would suddenly break down over it.
I disagree. The one that seemed to upset him the most was the suicide of his close friend - and he even got a tattoo in honor of his friend. I highly doubt he was just trying to get airtime.
Nate was upset 'cause he never got to meet his great-great grandfather? What the ****...That's a rare thing to even have. I noticed that the cast do not have a lot of followers on twitter. By this time on the Las Vegas cast, they were around 30,000 followers each. The majority of the cast is only around 8,000. For some reason Zach has the most with like 16,000.
Because Vegas was light years better than this season. I could be completely wrong here - but everyone is complaining that San Diego is going back to what the RW was before Vegas brought it back. Well, I guess one could assume the San Diego cast was in place before Vegas really took off and did really well. So maybe NOW the casting directors know what to look for? I highly doubt this is correct, but it's something to think about and cross your fingers on.

If you had put Vegas cast in San Diego house it would have been a totally different season too. The Vegas cast was caged up with only nightclubs at their door, not a beach. There is just something weird about the collection of people they brought together here that is being brought out even more by the beach community IMO. Everyone except Frank seems to have a "Leave me alone" attitude.
Totally uninterested by Nate and his story. If your going to make up a storyline for yourself to play out over the season, make it a good one.
While I agree that the mysterious salesmen with a suicide prevention charity that popped out of nowhere seemed painfully contrived, I wouldn't say something so insensitive about what Nate has gone through. There are other ways of saying things. Which brings me to my next point (and this isn't directed at you, ILoveRW): Yes, obviously Zach was joking with his idiotic comment. No one is putting a restraining order on him because they think he's literally going to beat the gay out of someone. No, people are offended by his lack of delivery on the line and how he says it. It's called tact, people. And it's sad how you're giving him a by on that (and it wouldn't be the first time). Would you like to go on a plane and jokingly say "I have a bomb" and excuse yourself because you were simply joking? Come on, really? Think. There are better way to say things, and most certainly better times to say them. It just takes a tiny bit of empathy to prevent yourself from saying stupid things outloud and embarrassing yourself.

When I'm in a store with my mom and I see something I like I say "I'm gonna totally steal this" with a straight face. Does my mom think I'm gonna steal it? Absolutely not. But had I said that around employees that don't know me, they might take it seriously. Was his comment tactless? Yes but this cast is probably the most serious, uptight cast I've every watched. But I'll just wait and see, it doesn't look like there will be a huge fight next week so who knows.

She hasn't just lived with you for a few weeks. You're actually supporting my point. The best idea is to not be so rash about comments around people unless you know them very well and that they won't react negatively to it.

I think we need to see the context of Zach's quote first, however his tone didn't seem jokingly.
Frank: ... whatever problem it may me about. About anger, about drinking, about... alone-ness. Therapist (few seconds later): You're a really smart guy! I doubt it was done on purpose but the edit was funny. Ah. So THIS is why I didn’t really like Alexandra. I think she thinks too much of herself. I mean she is very accomplished of course, but I feel like she exudes... a fake modesty (for lack of better word).
There is just something weird about the collection of people they brought together here that is being brought out even more by the beach community IMO. Everyone except Frank seems to have a "Leave me alone" attitude.
I didn't notice until you pointed it out, but it's true... Nany, Naomi, Adam, Dustin and maybe Cooke had type A personalities and LOVED drama. And Leroy and Mike are the type of guys who won't go looking for drama but they don't keep their mouths shut about their feelings, so it was bound to create interesting tensions.
I think Alex wants to be single and started all those ridiculous fights to get Byron to be the one to say it. He was quiet because he wanted to keep the peace, nothing he could have said would have pleased her - she was nit picking at everything. He is a smart guy and handled it well. OR Alex is just plain annoying and crazy.

It's like people can't believe some people are just good natured in that way. And if that person slips up one or two times people are ready to bust out the pitchforks.
Yep, it looked like he meant it as a joke though. But of course everyone's gonna turn this into a "It Gets Better" campaign.
I would agree it would seem he means it as a joke. Problem is it is not funny. Instead it is offensive, shows a tremendous naivete, lacks any tact and is something one should never, ever say to an LGBT individual. It may be conjecture but I would not be surprised if Sam has had to deal with bullying and with being threatened verbally and physically. It would also seem her identity seems to be something of importance to her and something she believes in being true to. So for someone to state the identity can be changed through a beating is a place one should know not to go. Zach's ignorance appears to be a point of emphasis. Here is the alpha male of the house that certain people look up to seemingly based on appearance. Yet he is saying horrible things and showing a lack of comprehension to how he really comes across. I also saw a comparison between Sam and Joey from Cancun. Not sure if I see that one. Sam seems like a sensitive, empathetic person who worries about others and tries to get along with everyone. Joey was one of the more repellent individuals I have ever seen on The Real World. Alex's clinginess was bothersome. However I do need to watch a 2nd time? Was Byron maybe displaying slight bits of subtle passive-agressiveness? Alex said they tend to have problems when doing the long distance thing. Maybe there is a bit more to it than just Alex being high maitenance in terms of attention from Byron. Are all of Nate's female friends solely interested in getting on tv. It seems they all want to visit the house but really have no interest in him. Is anyone else getting a Priscilla and Sam like each other quite a bit vibe?

This season is complete gibberish thus far, not impressed nor entertained.
this season is complete gibberish thus far, not impressed nor entertained.
Obviously you're kidding around. Ashley's famous one-liners, such as "The" and "Of", saved this season for me.
Obviously you're kidding around. Ashley's famous one-liners, such as "The" and "Of", saved this season for me.
I think you're going to have to explain to me who this Ashley character is. I'm not paying enough attention I guess because I've never heard any of those lines.
Dude. Hold her hand. Make it easy on yourself.
But you doooooon't understand.... she wanted him to WANT to hold her hand... if he did then, it wouldn't have solved things. He was just screwed once it started - and I think he knew it/been there before with her.
Ok seriously cystic, Ashley already has too many followers on Twitters so stop with the sarcasm or you might give MTV some really bad ideas here... Then again maybe if they promoted her for what she really is, aka the first robot ever cast in RW history, she'd be entertaining.
I think we need to see the context of Zach's quote first, however his tone didn't seem jokingly.
Are you kidding me? While it may not be something that you should go around joking about with an LGBT person that you barely know, he absolutely sounded like he was joking.
Are you kidding me? And I'm someone who isn't fan of being "politically correct" so.
He wasn't laughing or smirking or anything, he sounded like he was threatening her. And I'm someone who isn't fan of being "politically correct" so.
His face may not have shown it, but his voice was soaked in sarcasm. I don't know, maybe it's just that I've heard people use that saying a lot "I'll beat the gay out of you" (not towards me, as I am heterosexual) but I've never heard it used in any manner other than joking.
Is this coming episode the one where Zach is in Sam's face, yelling at her in a bedroom? It looks like it could lead to that, but you'd think they would put THAT in the preview, too.. Assuming time allowed it, I guess.

I enjoyed this episode well enough. Sober raging Frank is markedly less annoying than drunken raging Frank. I counted Ashley in 8 shots overall so I think that's an improvement! She should have more screentime next week since there is a focus on Zach and she doesn't seem to leave his side. Alex was the most annoying part of this episode for me; I agree with some of the others here who speculate on her high-maintenance and needy/clingy attitude.
Zach has the most followers because he is the most entertaining of the 7 on twitter.
I dont think thats why.
I dont think thats why.
I do think it is why. None of the others are bearable to follow. Zach has some interesting tweets during the weekend about football. The others are just boring.
I just realized that 3 out of the first 4, and now the next episode, all revolved around gay issues. Maybe that's why the season sucks, because it's about the same **** thing every time. There's nothing wrong with discussing issues with the gay community, but this has been overkill so far and it's not stopping.
I do think it is why. None of the others are bearable to follow. Zach has some interesting tweets during the weekend about football. The others are just boring.
Psh, boring football tweets pale in comparison to Ashley's super exciting tweets about what she ate this morning.
