Over the first couple episodes I have come to like pretty much everyone, except Ashley and Zach. Ashley is just like a flash in the pan. I dont even remember where the girl is from or what she said in her tape. I dont even remember her coming into the house. She is incredibly boring and seems to do nothing but talk about finding Zach hot and maybe sorta kinda wanting to hook up with him. I dont really get her. And then Zach....he just seems like so close minded. At least at the end Nate was like I dont get it completely and I dont understand it but you're my friend so I'm trying. Zach was just like I could care less, he's disgusting, etc. Zach seems like that person who is just ignorant about something and is totally cool with being that way. Like from the moment the episode started he just was annoying me. I was like get off my screen Zach. And then on the after show....... Frank definitely needs to get his **** together. I mean when he drinks, he just loses it completely it seems. He loses all sense of reality. I mean he said he didnt even remember half of what he said. That is no bueno. Even though his behavior is crazy, I still find myself feeling sorry for the guy. Im sure all that he is dealing with with being ******** and his dad and all that is hard on his mind. It was really nice to see Priscilla kinda decode everything and really try to help. I think she hit the nail on the head with what she said to Zach and Nate about Frank having *** with that guy. Shes a smart girl and it was nice to see her being level headed about the whole thing. I dont think NAte is a homophobe or anything. I think he is just ignorant as to something TOTALLY different than what he's used to. That Zach and Ashley though......
Nate is a pretty cool guy in my opinion, his reaction is kinda normal - he's never been around it. Frank is out of his mind though... flipping out on him and breaking stuff is not going to solve anything. It just makes it worse and pushes people away from him. Ashley is ******* boring and Zach is annoying. The group dinner scene and the moment with Nate and Frank at the end was awesome. :'] I actually liked this episode for a change!
Loved last nights episode. Couldn't stop laughing when Zach thought that Frank was lying about his sexuality for attention! Where do they find these people?
Okay so this is the 1st episode of the season that I have watched and I gotta say that where they are in San Diego is BEAUTIFUL!!! I would SO love to live there. But Frank...Honestly Zach and Nate were both *******s about it and had Frank brought home a girl they would not have had an issue with it period.(And that Blonde girl was a **** about it too. I mean it's fine if you don't wanna go to a gay club but be a **** adult about it). Frank really needs to stop drinking or not drink as much. And on a Side note I'm really getting tired of people on this show having a problems with Booze. It's really tired and overdone. Nobody is going to be able to top Ruthie's battle with Alcohol and I wish they would stop trying to. Nate...Glad he came around. I like Sam. It's good to have a Lesbian on here again. Zach..I don't like him and I'm betting by seasons end I'm going to HATE him. The other girls were Alright too(Forgot their names).
Third week, and once again, this is not a positive post… :( First point, I’m disappointed in Ashley for not going to the gay club. I expected her to be more open-minded than Zach and Nate. She may not feel 100% comfortable, but why does she come on the Real World? I thought the point was to broaden your horizons. I’ve been watching early RW seasons lately and the cast members had more substance, or at least the way it was put together did a better job at exploring different types of issues. Also, I feel like she might have stayed home partially because Zach did. In any case, I lost respect for her. Zach’s behaviour was ridiculous. I hope he takes this opportunity to open up to new ways of thinking but I don’t expect him to; he’s a bit too full of himself for that. Priscilla started to grow on me a bit for being such a calm and comprehensive person… and then she said she wasn’t wearing underwear, which reminded me of why I always roll my eyes at her. But I’m glad she’s showing that us 90’s kids can be mature in some ways. Well that fight was rather odd. It seemed like they were both acting. It looked like Frank was fake-crying, and when Nate was yelling, his eyes didn’t show that he meant it. Random comment: I love when Zach went in the confessional and they had to adjust the height of the camera because he’s too tall. The problem with the first few episodes is that they are too similar RW Back to Las Vegas (a guy was into a girl with a boyfriend he drinks too much, it bothers the roommates, one of the roommates won’t really take his apology… sounds familiar?), which just aired. I can’t help but compare the two, and RW San Diego just doesn’t look good in comparison. Oh my… Chet was the aftershow host! That made it all better :D
Well that fight was rather odd. It seemed like they were both acting. It looked like Frank was fake-crying, and when Nate was yelling, his eyes didn’t show that he meant it.
Well that's kinda common when people are drunk.
This episode was so good , and changed my opinion of a few cast members. Nate really upset me this episode, but I'm glad he and Frank made up and both apologized for their actions. Priscilla has so much respect from me. SO does Sam. Ok, Ashley and Zach, ***. She just goes along with whoever she is around. Also, I'm starting agree that she is relevant. Zach, once again proves that he is homophobic and a ******* *********.
Concering a post earlier about whether the women making out with Sam know she is a woman, they definitely do. That would be interesting if they dealt with how many women Sam is making out with or going to their place with. Sam is many a femme's fantasy type. She may not quite be Kate Moenning but she is not far off. I wonder if they will go into it because a woman like Sam is going to have beautiful women coming on to her at a significant rate. That is why Nate is so funny. He probably thinks he is letting Sam just tag along but Sam, realistically, is probably thinking I better help him out some because he needs it. Nate's dates so far seem to be of the I want to be on tv but do I have to hang around this guy variety.
Nate is a pretty cool guy in my opinion, his reaction is kinda normal - he's never been around it. Frank is out of his mind though... flipping out on him and breaking stuff is not going to solve anything. It just makes it worse and pushes people away from him.
For someone his age, I hope Nate's behavior is not normal. Nate and Zach indulged in fairly explicit homophobic behavior. The action outside that club was repulsive. They behaved if they had seen the worst, most repulsive humanity in the world with astonishing displays of disgust. From the beginning, it seemed weird. I would take it that Frank and Sam have had no problem hanging out at clubs that are predominantly straight. Zach, Nate and Ashley could not be decent and show the same kind of courtesy? Instead Nate and Zach acted like it was a scene beneath contempt, as if being even outside the club demanded immediate hetero***ual reeducation (explosions and shooting guns). Then for Nate to make the repugnant decision to reject the room for three days (due to it being a place of the all frightening gay ***) was just plain brutal homophobia. While Frank very much played his role of poor behavior with the drunken confrontation, the burden on this episode for the problems was more Nate and Zach. I think Zach may factor in quite a bit to Ashley and Nate's behavior. It seems like both see him as some alpha male hero. They seem to feed off his closemindedness. However at the end Nate seemed to be coming around. The sooner he stops looking up to Zach the better. Nate owned up by the end and that is a great sign to see.
Well Priscilla is used to be open about *** cause of her mom, so I guess she would respect other ***ualities. I like her, she shows that she is mature. When it comes to Frank's ***uality and drunkenness can throw funny lines such as "Do pigs get their period?" or "I am not wearing underwear"
I really get the impression that Ashley is pretty much falling in line with what Zach does. If Zach wanted to go to the gay bar and was excited I feel like Ashly would have too. If Zach wanted to understand Frank or accept him, I feel like Ashly would too. There isn't much evidence to this but it's the feeling I get. She seems to be mirroring his behavior to a degree. I also feel like Nate has done this to a lesser extent.
I'm mostly interested in seeing how Zach will react to Nate's crying next week. Making fun of him, talking to Ashley how a man should not cry in front of others? Somehow, I don't think this will happen, so his parade of hypocrisy is likely to continue.
I'm confused as to who this blonde chick is that occasionally pops up on my screen to do a confessional. Anyone know?
I'm confused as to who this blonde chick is that occasionally pops up on my screen to do a confessional. Anyone know?
Was it the chick Nate picked up or the one Zach picked up? I can't tell the difference between the 2.

Been watching Real World since the very first season and I have never been as turned off and bored this quickly with a season EVER. Not even Philly, San Francisco, London or Washington DC had me anticipating the end of the season as much as I am with this one. These people are just not entertaining, memorable, or even very likable and they might have drama but it isn't good reality tv drama, it just comes off as awkward and uncomfortable to watch. The casting department should look to this season as a blueprint for what NOT to do with future casts. I have NEVER, not once, stopped watching a Real World season altogether but if the next two or three episodes don't pick up at all I think I might actually bow out.
I feel like EVERYTHING that the "this season..on the real world" trailer showed has already been seen in these last 3 episodes.
They should rename this season to Frank's World, because that's what each episode has been about. Frank is also soooo annoying, so if the show doesn't change i also might have to stop wasting my time with this season.
Well that's kinda common when people are drunk.
Could you explain what you mean? Are you saying it's common to fake things when you're drunk?
Could you explain what you mean? Are you saying it's common to fake things when you're drunk?
To over exaggerate
Frank is such a little bxtchh I swear. That's why he won't step up to Zach because he knows he'll get punked like the punk he is. As far as this episode went, the real world is getting TOO GAY to watch like come on no wonder so many people that I know that used to watch this show don't watch it no more. The only X-factor in here is Zach because he's the only normal dude that isn't a wierd little pr*ck (nate) or a fruitbag that always gets drunk and then apologizes the next morning. Adam Royer from the last real world was different because he was actually entertaining by not apologizing and still gets the girl. As far as the guys side is going anyways.

It's been the Frank show for the past 3 episodes and quite honestly, I don't want to see him and his drunken outbursts or his sober talks about them and his problems in the house. I didn't want to see it episode 1 and still don't. They really need to have like 2 or 3 different casts at the same time and film them so they don't get stuk with a bad season. Best case scenario, they have 3 seasons filmed already, and can discard one of them. I really don't get who casts these shows either, it doesn't seem that hard to me yet they seem to put together bad casts all the time.

Beyond that, it is just a played out storyline to put gays and lesbians on blast most every season. It isn't "groundbreaking" or "cutting edge" or however it is they like to couch these stories.
When someone says "the real world is TOO GAY to watch" or uses the term "fruitbag" to describe a gay male, I have to wonder if the person is serious too. I hope they aren't.
I sort of get this, but it isn't homophobia so much for me as it is that the gay guys they tend to bring on are so eccentric that nobody would love/tolerate them if they were straight but then it is always twisted into an anti-gay thing if you talk bad about them/don't like them. It isn't "groundbreaking" or "cutting edge" or however it is they like to couch these stories.
I have to touch on this notion that there isn't homophobia from Nate and Zach but just a distaste for Frank because of his whining and poor behavior when drunk. Neither his whining or his drunken behavior had anything to do with the two most disgusting displays of homophobia by Zach and Nate. 1) Frank was not there when Zach and Nate, in the car outside the gay club, acted as if they had stumbled on the most grotesque visions in all mankind. Their commentary in that car was horrendous. They acted as if their whole world was being shaken up and a quick hetero***ual affirmation was needed due to what they have seen (which shows a real cowardice to me). 2) Nate's decision to no longer sleep in his room and instead sleep on a hammock for 3 days because Frank had *** with a man in the bedroom is cut and dry. That he detached himself completely from this person he had been getting along with just fine and refused to sleep in that room for 3 days is terrible behavior. Nate did not stop sleeping in there because of Frank's drinking or because Frank was whining. Nate stated he was not sleeping there because he was creeped out by Frank having had *** with a man in the room. Frank is, imo, annoying, beyond moody, and a horrible drunk. I wouldn't want to live with him. That does not excuse that Nate and Zach did very specific things (and not just the two I listed) that were homophobic. It is possible for people on both sides of an argument to act in a disgusting way. Anyways, a lot less Frank, Zach and Nate would be nice.
As far as this episode went, the real world is getting TOO GAY
I didnt know television shows could have a sexual orientation. Ill have to log this in my notebook right away.
VERY well said, Balmont. Watching this season Zach, Nate, and Frank come off as tools. I think Nate has the most potential to change.
The posts here are very interesting, considering I would rank the cast members according to their entertainment value to me: 1. Zach 2. Nate 3. Sam 4. Ashley 5. Priscilla 6. Alex Frank doesn't get a rating of 7. He is not interesting at all and I wish he'd get off my screen. Wife also thinks Zach and Nate are funny and Priscilla/Frank are not.
When watching Frank I can't help but get the feeling that he knows/is related to/friends with someone at BMP or who is involved in the casting process... I keep imagining someone with connections going "I have the PERFECT guy for this show' or somethin like that... However, like I've mentioned before I think h is a good casting choice, I think the season could have been better had they cast someone like Vegas2 Leroy or Mike, someone that will call Frank out on his behavior worse than Zach is doing
Honestly Nate, Zach, and Frank were all in the wrong in this episode(For Diffrent reasons).
