The Challenge: Rivals - Evelyn Smith Interview

I really do respect her more than a lot of the other cast members (especially the more recent ones). I love being able to get straight up answers from the cast, rather than just being able to see the way they're portrayed by the editors.

Thanks for doing this V1! Really enjoyed her thoughtful responses! It's good to know that I'm not just a crazy conspiracy theorist when it comes to Jenn and Mandi "winning" that rafting mission! Anyone who watched the second half of last weeks episode can see the obvious BS!

Great interview and thank you for doing it V1man (and Ev). With this challenge and now interview, she is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites. I remember I didn't like her at first because of her being Danny's partner, complete 180 from FM1.

I'm super shocked she didnt mention Kelly Anne and Tonya's names more. Especially as far as tough women and fantasy cast women. Strange. But I do LOVE Ev.

I note that she didn't mention Wes when it came to 100% trust. Odd, considering Wes is always so nice to her and seems to be one of the few people on the show that genuinely likes and respects her input.

In regards to Tonya, I do remember reading a post here quoting Evelyn and her placements of all the women on the Ruins in order from strongest to weakest with Tonya falling squarely right above Susie, only behind herself, KA, Diem and Sarah I believe.

I'm so glad she answered the question about her ribs. I believed her because she's one of the few on there that I think is truly honest and genuine but it just seemed off with how she was behaving and moving around. It makes sense though... pain killers can make you feel invincible hahah. I just assumed since people said she didn't see a medic so she wasn't sent home that she wouldn't have had them. Love this interview, love her and love you V1man. <3

Great Interview.. gave a sense of a really honext, complex and real person.. which may not always be everyone's favorite person, but someone that you would give anything to have on your side. =)

Evelyn seems so intelligent. I've always respected that she was able to have her own mind and she is capable of being interesting on the shows without being fake or starting stupid drama. She's so right about people being so fickle. I remember on Gauntlet 3, people were giving her a lot of hate because they weren't happy about how it ended with Coral on there. Then the next challenge she did The Island, people loved her once she was the outcast. People are so fickle. People loved Wes not hate him. I also don't get why the guys from the mob are calling Evelyn a transvestite like she said. She does not look manly at all. She's very cute. Women can be strong without being manly!

V1, On the Rules board for Sleep or Stand last night, it said the teammates had to switch from sleeping to standing every hour. How was Ev allowed to Stand all night?

I'm glad that her and Johnny get along. I think that Johnny just plays the part to get attention on Twitter and such, trying to build his "Johnny Bananas" brand. I like him and I like her, so I wish that he would just stop. I'm also a little surprised she didn't say KellyAnne is in the Top 5 females or her Top 5 desired team members. And I think she's just trying to build Paula up, because although I like Paula, I don't think she's top 5, sorry. Also curious about the steroid use. I think BMP should monitor that better. That's not okay. I can only think of Danny as someone possibly. Some people do train hard for these and it gives the Challenges a bad name.

I was indifferent towards Evelyn until the Island speech but shes become my favorite female from these shows because of her Island interview and blog posts. Extremely intelligent and independent.

Would Evelyn be interested in doing a Ustream chat with us Vevmoers? She seemed to enjoy the one with Cara Maria and Laurel, and it was a lot of fun!

Very good read. This interview reaffirms 2 points I have always had about Evelyn. 1) She's a strong competitor whom I have no problem rooting for in Challenges because she plays to win. 2) She is not the type of person I would get along with at all in reality.

I really like Ev! I wasn't a fan at all until The Island. Her sticking it to those a holes and taking Johnny's key will forever be a top challenge moment! I'd love to see her take part in a Duel format because I know she'd rock it!
