Tina was not "Probably gonna be on rivals." When BMP contacted Beth regarding Rivals (apparently not knowing she was nearly eight months pregnant), the company would have known that the two could not have been cast together. BMP would have had to approach Beth's attorney of record following The Duel to reopen their dialogue. They didn't do that.
Derrick's one tough son of a ***** and shouldn't be taken lightly. He's got heart, as lame as that sounds, but he does. While he's not the smartest guy, he's got a good track record of performing well and always giving it his all, unlike a good chunk of the cast. Would I put him up there with CT and Landon? No, but I'd still put him in the upper section of guys in terms of performance.
BTW that guy seems extremely homophobic and probably is only 12 years old just based on the way he types.

But in all seriousness:
1) Why does someone being gay make a difference as to whether or not they're good ocmpetitors?
2) (pretty sure he meant Gauntlet 2) How is a wrestling match catered to a small person?
3) Being a good competitor has more to do with winning physical eliminations...puzzles and trivia have played parts in many finals. Why doesn't that count?
4) Fresh Meat was a partnered challenge...when the other team has a puzzle genius, it's not a big shame to lose.
5) On Inferno 3, there wasn't a discussion about who was going in. Abe volunteered before Derrick said anything. Derrick didn't actively fight to stay out.
6) He finally [I]volunteers[/I] to go in, and you don't give him any credit, despite the fact that it's against a guy who won three times already...because he beat two gay guys? Again, why does being gay have anything to do with their physical abilities? And remember this guy was heavier than him, AND Derrick had to hold his own against the other teams with no one to back him up during that day's mission.
It really sounds like this guy just doesn't like Derrick and is actively looking for ways to discredit him. Trying to have a discussion with someone like that will go nowhere because they will not listen to what is said unless they can make it fit into their preconceived notions.
Derrick is just considered a good competitor because he has huge heart & will, and seems to be a good teammate. He is considered a great competitor aswell by all the others, not just himself.
Also that guy means gauntlet 2 instead of 3, and I think this is where he earned most respect. He took out Adam L, who is a pretty good competitor. And Syrus & Ace may not be the best competitors but he beat them in the physical gauntlet 'Beach Brawl', and both those 2 were bigger than him and Syrus definitely outweighed him by a lot.
As I said about many others (kenny etc), Derrick also is not the strongest competitor but he is a GOOD competitor. He's pretty strong, has a lot of heart and is well liked by most people, which is why he can easily make it far in many challenges. Obviously people as CT, the miz, wes, landon and darrell are stronger than him but it's not all about strength.
Also I think the dude that posted that comment doesn't like gay people..

What I said earlier was that of the people I listed as retired, I could see Brad as someone who'd change his mind at some point if he did miss doing them, but that as of right now, he's pretty much retired for good.

Yeah I understand that but I meant that if they would have been okay with being on a show together (and if Beth wasn't pregnant at that point) then Tina could've very well been on Rivals paired with Beth. If they both had the time and stuff.

You seem to be ignoring what everyone's saying. I'll describe what they said in as much detail as possible. When Mark said he would retire on Gauntlet 2, he essentially was saying "I'm not gonna be a regular cast member anymore, but if the right conditions are met for a future challenge, I might do one." The Duel 2 met his conditions and he came back.

People need to understand someone's reasons for declaring that they are done with the show. Sometimes circumstances change, as they have with Mark Long, and he decided he could be flexible in his approach, choosing the right time and format for any return. He's been getting to know some of the newer cast members since the national morning show he was co-hosting died last year. I expect him to return if BMP guarantees him the situation he wants.
Brad and Tori have strong personal and business reasons not to return. A few felt that reality TV was not something they wanted to continue to do, in an acknowledgement of its invasive quality in their lives. (They didn't enjoy the experience). While I wouldn't want to speak for either Brad or Tori, my impression is that Brad would not choose BMP over Tori and Brady, because I believe that would be the option on the table. His obligation is now to build a foundation for his family. He knows that is not what MTV is about.
Others, like Jodi, felt it was time to go out on top and get on with their lives in a more positive and productive way. Applause to them all.

Ryan Leslie said he was interested in Rivals, he never said he was opposed to it entirely. I want him to at least come on one because he's crazy and great TV (even though he won't get far). I heard he was asked and planned to do it, but backed out last minute? Correct me if I'm wrong..
If Jemmye and Knight broke up I could see them doing it alone as well, not that I'd be that excited for them on Challenges.
Any word on whether Susie will come back? I hope she doesn't decide to go out on top, but then again I could understand it.
