...the point being that our culture is seriously in decline? :paint2:
And has been for years.

I agree that just because there are more pressing matters doesn't mean people don't still enjoy the fluff. However, anyone who cares more about wrestling than world wide devastation via the HIV/AIDS epidemic has wandered a bit off the beaten path. I don't believe that, "I care more about athletes than sick people" is a valid argument for anything other than ignorance. Unfortunately, that has become the way of our world. It's very sad.
I don't think our culture is seriously in decline so much as I believe that corporate television, notably cable only stations, is in decline. It isn't like at most times the choices across the spectrum aren't pretty inane. My TV is more for background noise than viewing these days as there are only about 4-5 shows a week I actually make an effort to watch. I believe something akin to Nixon's "silent majority" still exists outside LA and NYC and DC that is largely helpless in face of corporate profit-churning. People are just tired of having people with their hand out in front of them wherever they turn so they tune out.
I don't understand what the list is trying to prove? I do believe all the people on the list are recognizable is different circles. I personally don't watch wrestling, but can understand why Mike is such a big name. Truth be told, the only reason I know who Mike is, is because he was on The Real World.

Seasons 1 and 2 (NY and LA) now available on Hulu Plus: The Real World - Full Episodes and Clips streaming online - Hulu Have to subscribe to see them, but you can get a 1-week or 1-month trial for free easily. Also 90-second previews are free for all. The preview for the last episode of season 2 is interesting...since in those days the show's premiere aired around the time they left the house, its them reacting to publicity. Season 2 is Beth's season for those unaware.
It's sad that all the seasons need to be party seasons to get higher ratings. I think instead of having either a serious cast or a party cast, get half of both. It just seems like that would address a lot of issues, relevant and meaningless both, but a lot of drama nonetheless. It kind of seems like NOLA2 did that though. Eric, Sahar, Ashlee, and Preston being serious and Jemmye, Knight, Ryan, and McKenzie being the not so serious.

Well that whole cast aside from Ryan and Eric were annoying to me.

I was watching some old seasons of The Real World and noticed that religion played a major part of the lives on many of the early castmembers. Elka from the Boston season was featured regularly going to Catholic Mass and an episode of the LA season actually had cast members saying grace before a house dinner! Wow. How times have changed. Do cast members still go to church on the show? Mike from Back to Las Vegas has religious values but was he shown going to church and I missed it?

That's all i can remember off the top of my head.

There was a daily from Brooklyn where Ryan was going to church with Chet but they never showed them at the church.
Just wanted to let everyone know that seasons 1 and 2 of the show are available to watch on hulu plus. Crossing my fingers that this means that hopefully some seasons will come out on DVD soon (even though I know the problem is music licensing). If you have never seen the earlier seasons, make sure you check out the original real world!
They haven't updated Hulu+ with more seasons? Ugh, what's taking so long?
Are they having to remaster them so to speak? Old recordings from the pre-digital days tend not to hold up as well and need some color and sound updates to not seem sooo dated.

They just added San Francisco and London
They just added San Francisco and London
That's a very good sign! Thanks :)
They also just added seasons 1, 2 and 14 of Road Rules... This might be worth the $7.99 a month
They also just added seasons 1, 2 and 14 of Road Rules... This might be worth the $7.99 a month
I waited until they get the newer seasons on [strike]their.[/strike] there.
Best. Apology. Ever. YouTube - ‪Best apology ever‬‏
I was just rewatching some London clips it was pretty good,I don't know why people don't like it much.
I was in Brooklyn for my job this weekend and I visited the house it was right down the street. It is unrecognizable. All the paint is washed away half of it is stores now. The fence is gone I don't think they did anythign with the house but the other half of it is all stores.

I think I read somewhere that they were trying to rent out that end part for weddings. I'm sure they gutted that end part to get all the cameras and microphones out. Like striking a set at the end of a play's run.
What are your favorite two seasons VEVMO users? Mine are New Orleans (2011) and Brooklyn
What are your favorite two seasons VEVMO users? Mine are New Orleans (2011) and Brooklyn
If I could add, please include your age as well so we are able to get a small idea of what constitutes "good".
If I could add, please include your age as well so we are able to get a small idea of what constitutes "good".
Okay, well I'm 16. :) The only reason I liked New Orleans is because the cast genuinely seemed to enjoy the fact that they were giving a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It made each episode pretty interesting. Brooklyn, because it dealt with real issues and I loved seeing Chet and Ryan's friendship build.
