Ooh! Sooner than I expected! I will be very glad to have Captain Jack back on my screen. I don't think this will get me to buy Starz though. Hopefully they do what they did with Party Down (RIP) and make them available on Netflix Instant right away. :D

I don't think I can properly enthuse the awesome in that teaser.
Just the little Torchwood theme snippet at the end had me all giddy! I know it's not much but it makes it feel so real! I don't know how much you know about the series but the new cast will consist of Mekhi Phifer, Bill Pullman and Lauren Ambrose. Of course Captain Jack and Gwen Cooper will be there too. Here is a bit about the premise:
In "Miracle Day," Earth's population suddenly stops dying, leading to global crises. As CIA agent Rex Matheson (Phifer) investigates the conspiracy, he is slowly drawn into the shadowy world of the Torchwood Institute, the top secret British project depicted in the hit BBC series spun off from "Doctor Who."
July 8th is so far away! I think they are filming in LA right now so I might have to do some snooping. :)
Just the little Torchwood theme snippet at the end had me all giddy!
I literally had hairs standing up on the back of my neck when I heard the "Torchwood theme" at the end. I heard it and that was it. I've looped the trailer 10 times. Ok, going on 11, but only for research purposes! I am so excited. Captain Jack is back.
The first two episodes of Series 6 were screened at the press launch today and I am getting so excited for the premiere. Here is a great SPOILER FREE review and it's making me all giddy in anticipation. Looks like we are in for a good time! I know you said spoiler free, but I don't want to know anything about it beyond the first teaser. I'm already sold. :D p.s New poster
I know you said spoiler free, but I don't want to know anything about it beyond the first teaser. I'm already sold. :D p.s New poster
I understand. I was skeptical at first and read it very cautiously, ready to close the tab if I felt they weren't being vague enough but it did a very good job of not leaving any hints. Mostly just praise and to be excited saying that if you liked the way Steven Moffat handled taking over Doctor Who in Series 5 you will very much enjoy where Series 6 seems to be heading. That made me very happy because I am a huge Moffat fan and I think I might even like his style more than Russel T Davies (shh, don't tell!) but I won't make my final judgement until he goes as long as Davies did or ends his reign so I can judge his whole tenure as show runner. That poster is glorious and totally makes up for the lack of Chuck today. I can only handle so much Dancing with the Stars until Castle comes on to save me. :D

Oh! And I just had a major "DUH!" moment about River Song/The Silence. I just realized that her first appearance was in the episode titled "Silence in the Library" and there is no way that can be a coincidence with Moffat. Since we know the "silence" will fall and they are one of the "big bads" this season, River has to have something to do with them. Maybe part of her true identity? And if she does I am very interested how her name "Song" will have to do with Silence. It is all making sense! But not really because I am still confused and don't know if I am even right! Oh and the cast seem to be making their way across the country to help promote the show so cross your fingers that they come to LA and I get to [strike]kidnap[/strike] see them.
From the preview pics with the "person" in the space suit, I have assumed it would be the Vashta Nerada. You are right though, River Song is clearly going to play a big part.

Oh that is so sad! I wonder what happened. I haven't heard anything about her being sick or something. RIP Sarah Jane.

Maybe you can help me with a trivia question so I can win series 5 on dvd!
Name all the male characters, other than the Doctor himself in his various faces, to travel aboard the TARDIS for more than one episode of the modern (i.e., Christopher Eccleston and Russell Davies onward) TV show.
I think it would be Mickey, Rory, Capt Jack and Adam, the guy who went with Rose and Nine from the underground museum place and got the thing implanted in his head. I was going to say Donna's grandpa too but I think he was only actually in the TARDIS for one episode (unless we are counting End of Time 1 & 2 as two different episodes). The only question is if Adam counts because he officially entered the TARDIS at the end of "Dalek" but was kicked off at the end of the next episode. So would that count for more than one episode worth of travel in the TARDIS?
Adam definitely counts being Dalek and The Long Game are two distinct episodes. Wilfred should count, because those are two episodes, although in a single adventure.
Ok sounds good. Here's to hoping I win! Less than 8 hours until the premiere! Did you catch Karen Gillan on Craig Ferguson last night? She was adorable as always. I am of course spending most of the day watching the Series 5 marathon on BBCA to help set the mood. The only time I will switch away is for the Bruins game.
Ok sounds good. Here's to hoping I win!
I can't think of anyone else and it is quite fresh in my mind, so I think you are good to go!
Did you catch Karen Gillan on Craig Ferguson last night? She was adorable as always.
I saw the video floating around on reddit and I'll make sure to watch it.
I am of course spending most of the day watching the Series 5 marathon on BBCA to help set the mood. The only time I will switch away is for the Bruins game.
Ditto!
It was great interview. She's is adorable and funny.
I love how she was so nonchalant about seeing the Loch Ness monster. Like, "of course I've seen it! Hasn't everyone?" I made sure to fast forward through the DW clip when I watched it because I don't want anything spoiled. Oh, and I also need som Dalek bubble bath asap!
I made sure to fast forward through the DW clip when I watched it because I don't want anything spoiled.
Haha, so did I!
Finally time for more Who!
I thought it was an amazing premiere. I'm still trying to absorb everything. p.s. The Silence are very scary!
Thoroughly creeped out by The Silence. Very good premiere but I want it to be next Saturday already! I have some theories too so it will be interesting to see if they all come true next week or during the season.
I want it to be next Saturday too. The first hour flew by in what felt like 10 minutes... Lots of shocking stuff, especially The Doctor actually dying in the first act. Why would he willingly have his life taken? I have so many questions. There has to be a reason!
