I'm guessing you haven't seen the episode yet, so I won't spoil you :D but I will tell you I was highly disappointed with this episode.
Nope. I'm in California so I'll be seeing the episode in about an hour.
Glee is really, REALLY hit or miss with me these days. I haven't enjoyed a lot of season 2, but I liked a few episodes ("Silly Love Songs" "Blame it on the Alcohol" "Special Education").
I feel with having 9 songs (at least that's what I've read) in one episode -- with a run time of ~43 minutes -- there isn't a whole lot of room for plot. Now, if they sang songs that intermingled with the plot line, then sure, they could do it. But I think the last time that someone sang a song and it was actually like a part of the story and not just "I'm sad, here's my song for the week" was with Mercedes in "Acafellas" when she sang "Bust Your Windows." I think that's the only performance that actually worked like a real musical.
Having said that, I would still like to watch the episode. lol

I feel the same way. This season has been very...meh for me. And I enjoyed the Journey medley last season MUCH MUCH more than the songs they performed this time around.
They did...yeah, 9 songs this episode. But a lot of them were one-verse things. And Santana's song was HILARIOUS.
Two saving graces for this episode:
1) Kathy Griffin as a Christine O'Donnell/Michelle Bachmann hybrid.
2) Puck's "Big ***...Heart"
Other than that though, this episode had WAY too many songs in it. I counted three by the 7 minute mark. After that I realized it wouldn't matter if I kept counting. I remember a press release in (I think) July of last year in which Ryan Murphy said they were going to limit the number of songs to just five an episode... I don't want to flat out call him a liar, but he's kind of a liar. The only episode I can think of that had less than five songs was "Blame it on the Alcohol" which was actually quite a fun episode - likely due to the fact that the writers gave the story time to develop.
Now, this April... the previews showed a couple of things. I'm most looking forward to Stephen Tobolowsky and Jessalyn Gilsig's appearances on the show. It's been about a year since we last saw Sandy Ryerson. (Anyone catch who the third person in the room with Sue, Sandy, and Terri was? I missed it.) I love both these characters. I know most people hate Terri, but she brings so much fun to the show. I kind of wish her sister still appeared too.
And of course, I've read that Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Kristin Chenoweth will all reappear this season as well.
For those of you interested, lawmakers and Lauren Potter (who plays Becky) are live on CNN.com talking about bullying of special needs children.
I think I read somewhere that Kathy G's character was supposed to be a little Sarah Palinish
Yeah, if anything I should have written a "Christine O'Donnell/Michelle Bachmann/Sarah Palin hybrid."
But the line "I would just like to start off by saying I am not a witch" was a direct reference to Christine O'Donnell's "dabble in withcraft."
Squeeee! :D
Tony nominee Jonathan Groff is headed back to McKinley High for the final three episodes of Glee’s second season, according to tvline.com. Groff will reprise his role as Jesse St. James, lead singer of rival glee club Vocal Adrenaline and former boyfriend of Rachel Berry, played by Groff’s real-life best friend and former Spring Awakening co-star, Lea Michele.
yay! This season seemed really choppy tho. The had the mid-season break, then started back, had 3 episodes, then had a break again, then 3 final episodes. It does something to the viewer (aka, me. lol)
I don't think it comes back until April 19th.
I've heard a lot of different dates which is really annoying but April 19th is the farthest one away so its probably going to be then. =(
So there are only three more episodes left? That's lame. How are they gonna tie everything up together in three episodes.
I thought the ads said 4 episodes left, but whatever.
There are six episode remaining in the season.
4/19 - "Night of Neglect" will be an episode about artists who are under-appreciated and neglected by the mainstream media.
4/26 - "Born this Way" will be the episode that people have apparently been dying to see. It is reportedly being extended from 60 minutes to 90 minutes after a request by FOX to do so. It will center around Dave Karofsky, the bully that drove Kurt out of McKinley earlier this season. Ryan Murphy has stated that he could potentially see Karofsky turning to a life of drugs and alcohol because of his repressed homosexuality, but really wants him to have a happy ending. The Lady Gaga single "Born this Way" will be featured in the episode, and will most likely be sung by Kurt, Blaine, and Karofsky. Also expect Santana to have a story line about accepting her sexuality as well. Other topics in this episode will feature the glee clubbers taking pride in their imperfections, i.e. Finn's (lack of) dancing skills, Lauren's plus-size frame, and Rachel's Jewish nose (I'm not kidding).
I'm not 100% sure about the other four episodes, but I've read numerous reports stating that Charice, who played Sunshine Corozan in the season premiere, will be featured in at least four of the six new episodes. My guess is that it will be the final four. She will be singing "All by Myself" at some point.
Jonathan Groff, I believe, will return for 2 or 3 episodes. Reports suggested he would return to rekindle his relationship with Rachel, and perhaps be her prom date.
The love triangle of Finn-Rachel-Quinn might become a love rectangle with the addition of Sam. I know I said Rachel and Jesse might go to prom together, but other reports have also stated that a Rachel/Sam pairing at prom is possible. There will be an episode when Finn thinks Quinn is cheating on him with Sam, and enlists the help of Rachel to figure out if it's true or not. Rachel and Quinn will also sing a duet together at some point.
Kristen Chenoweth will return as April Rhodes and sing an original song called "It's 10 AM... and I'm drunk" or something like that.
I believe Gwyneth Paltrow will be featured in one more episode this season. But reports have said she'll be back in season three.
Sue will conspire with some of Will's enemies to create her own "Legion of Doom" to take down New Directions. Members include Terri Schuester, Sandy Ryerson, and Dustin Goolsby. For those of you who have no idea who Dustin is, think back to September. He had about a thirty second appearance in the premiere as the new coach for Vocal Adrenaline. He commandeered Sunshin Corozan, causing her to leave WMHS and go to his Glee Club.
Also, that song "Friday" by Rebecca Black (I think that's her name) might be used. Apparently, Ryan Murphy loves that song as do some of the cast members.
Chris Colfer also let it slip at a convention thing of some sort that Kurt will be making his return to McKinley High within the first two new episodes. The audience gasped in shocked, to which Colfer responded "Oh, like you didn't already know that!" And due to Kurt's departure from Dalton, the Warblers will be singing Kurt a send off song.
Speaking of the Warblers, apparently, they will perform at McKinley's Prom.
Which is weird, because I also read some reports saying that Justin Bieber and Adam Lambert will be performing at Prom. Those three just seem like a very, very unlikely combination.
AND finally, Sue Sylvester will be taking on a David Bowie persona in an upcoming episode. Why? I don't know. Because she's Sue Sylvester.

OH NO!!! I really hate that Gaga song and I wish they weren't doing it, but it does make sense for what they are going for.
I absolutely love this song (not just the Glee version, but the real one as well) and I'm glad they are doing it.

Wooo! More spoilers!
"Night of Neglect" -- "Santana becomes the latest slushie victim of McKinley High's football team. Mercedes acts like a diva, Brittany shows off her brain power, and Sue holds a meeting of her new gang, the League of Doom." "Born this Way" -- "Santana ... has something up her sleeve that could permanently alter the Glee club dynamic" (source: 'Glee' spoilers: 'Born this Way'--Santana to 'alter glee club dynamic' - National Glee | Examiner.com)
Producers have promised a happy ending for Karofsky, but things can always change.
There's also a blackmail plot going on in this episode. An extra tweeted "it's a good twist..." which got my gears working and made me think (er, hope) that maybe Santana will blackmail Karofsky somehow. That's my hope though, not an actual spoiler.
Finn & Quinn -- Quinn's drive to become prom queen is "less than honorable" in Finn's eye and may lead to the demise in their relationship.
Santana note -- apparently she will be testing the waters with her sexuality, both with men and women.
Kurt & the Warblers -- I'm still not sure why or how Kurt will end up back at McKinley (though my gut tells me it has to do with money issues in the Hummel-Hudson household), but the Warblers will sing a send off song to Kurt. "Somewhere Only We Know" is that song. Fabulous posted the song in the previous post.
Sue -- In my last post I said Sue is going to dress up as David Bowie. According to new reports, she will be dressing up like Bowie as some sort of disguise.
Not so much a spoiler, but this is off of Matthew Morrison's new album coming out May 10th and it's a duet with Gwyneth Paltrow of "Over the Rainbow." Love it!!!

Read that they were looking to cast a Down's Syndrome male student on the show. Not sure how that would work out--seems like more of a PR thing than anything else as I don't get how that adds to what is basically a musical.

Maybe Becky will get a boyfriend/friend/brother/something?
Maybe Becky will get a boyfriend/friend/brother/something?
Boyfriend would be the most logical considering the show has only really ever looked at Kurt's family (though I understand Sam's family is going to be in one of the upcoming episodes based on a spoiler blog somewhere I read). I just don't see that a romance between two DS kids would really make for an on-going storyline that people would tune in for and I don't see a DS kid integrating into the singing for more than 1 song. I hate to use the word, but it feels like it would just be a token role.

Looks like Karofsky won't be coming out of the closet... but will be more accepting of who he is. That's probably a safe bet, seeing as how I would not believe that he of all people would just suddenly (in the span of one episode) be like "Okay, I'm gay." I think (and hope) they'll chronicle his coming out process, showing what a struggle it can be for people. Then again, Glee has a problem with rushing story lines (Rachel/Shelby, anyone?)
They sort of already did that with Kurt and they are going to have the Kurt-Blaine relationship developing so I doubt that will be the case. IMO it is more likely just how they are going to wrap up a subplot to facilitate the return of Kurt.
