Just looking real quick, the last ratings report for Sons of Anarchy is a 1.8/5 A18-49. The reason I brought up The Real World, is that it is on the edge of cancellation.
I looked up SoA after I asked and it seems that the finale had a decent jump to end on a good note but the majority of their season was around the same numbers so I'm not too worried yet. True, but don't you think MTV may have higher expectations for their shows since they already have shows that pull in pretty big numbers? Or is that not how it can work? I admit that I am almost completely clueless when it comes to ratings and their significance for each network.

My question is why did it fall 20% and will it keep dropping. I'm looking at the numbers, not the show.

It fell 20% because it was a stupid Wynona episode!
It fell 20% because it was a stupid Wynona episode!
Truth! Though it really wasn't bad. ;) Maybe March Madness? Spring Break? Other shows? Who knows. If it's goes back up next week it's probably just a fluke week.
Loved this weeks episode! I really was not looking forward to it after the preview and thought it would be another "Winona is stupid" episode and it was to some extent but oh, was it so much more! Really fun and kept me on the edge seeing if they could pull it off. The look Art gave Raylan at the end leaves something to think about. How much does he know? Exactly what does he suspect? Art is not a dummy and noticed Raylan acting weird all day so I'm sure he is starting to put two and two together but if he does figure it out will he actually do anything about it? And that little smile on Winona's face in the last shot has me worried. I think she has the taste for being bad now and thinking she got off scott-free will probably try and do something dumb again. Then Boyd's new gig! And new suit! I am very intrigued by his new job, his new boss Carol and what she has to do with the Bennet clan. I like that they are tying the stories together now which hopefully means we will see more of everyone each week. And the preview for next week looks SO GOOD. I cannot wait! Let's get to some shooting!

See I disagree completely. I was groaning within the first 5min because I could tell we were about to just see last weeks episode drawn out. I really could have done without it. Winona is far dumber than I thought if she took the whole freakin' bag of money. My BF and I simultaneously said "Oh. **** NO." when they showed the bag. I think my biggest problem is that I'm not quite sure if Winona is that dumb, or if she just acts that way so Raylan can rescue her every time. I was honestly starting to get ****** that Raylan was even going to help her out. He's a US Marshal! Why would he waste his career and credibility to cover for this woman that is so wishy-washy she doesn't even know what she wants from day to day. It just doesn't fit his character for me and I don't like it.
And the preview for next week looks SO GOOD. I cannot wait! Let's get to some shooting!
Yes! It does. And after the last few weeks, I am SO ready to move on to some action! And I am also curious to see Boyd's new "boss"'s connection to the Bennets.

I think they should just have Raylan stay in those batting cages all night. It suits him well. :D I also love hungover Raylan.
Another awesome episode from an awesome show. I love that they would have an episode like this to set up for something even more epic in the finale. This is a finale level episode for most shows but Justified is so great because they use it as episode 9 of 12. I was so upset when I thought they killed Dickie. That would not have been cool especially after we got to witness his sweet dance moves! Oh and Boyd clogging? Does it get any better?

I haven't watched it yet! But I will be as soon as I get home from work. It's my Thursday @ 5:30 pm tradition now. :) I loved last weeks episode so I'm super-pumped to see the action from last night. I'm equal parts excited and horrified to see how Mag's "party" turns out. I'll report back later!
YouTube - Justified on FX - Debts and Accounts This preview makes me so happy! "My name’s Boyd Crowder. You can come after me if you want but it’ll be the last thing you ever do.” click click BOOM!
"My name’s Boyd Crowder. You can come after me if you want but it’ll be the last thing you ever do.”
Apparently I squealed out loud when I heard this line - getting a funny look from the bf. But whatevs, it's BOYD! And I love him! This weeks episode was EPIC. I admit I spoiled myself a bit by already reading what you posted here before I watched it, but I was SO on the edge of my seat for most of this ep. Poor Loretta...that girl has been through so much, and when she saw Coover wearing her Daddy's watch, that scene of her in the bedroom after that made me tear up a bit. She really had no idea... :( Mags...OMG if that woman doesn't get an Emmy there is something wrong in the world. She just plays that role so perfect. And in the end, when she was crying over wanting to talk to Loretta, and then she just flipped the script and was like "Let's go", with that icy stare, I was like, Whoa. Reminded me of the first ep when she was so sugary sweet with McReady as he was dying and as soon as he did she says "Get the girl". I actually kind of felt bad for Dickie in this episode. Poor little scrawny guy with the bum leg. He was getting shoved around by everyone! And you could tell he really didn't want Coover to get hurt but he was obviously already to far gone. I felt for the Coal Mining gal too. Boyd really screwed her over. But! That's Boyd, and that's how he rolls. I can't wait for the next few eps, but I'm SO sad this series only runs 12 episodes. Why not 20-24 like most?? Gaaaah I can't take another 8 months of waiting!! ETA: I hope Loretta isn't gone for good now. I liked the girl, and I'd like to see what happens with her character down the road.

And I love him!
I have watched that preview so many times but it's still not enough. More Boyd! More Raylan! And I better get some Tim this time because it's been too long.
This weeks episode was EPIC. I admit I spoiled myself a bit by already reading what you posted here before I watched it, but I was SO on the edge of my seat for most of this ep. I think she was trying to sway Raylan to get to Loretta to scare her from saying anything more about their involvement with her father's death and when Raylan flat out said no seeing through it she just flipped to scary Mags and was like "IT"S ON!". Run Raylan! Run!
I actually kind of felt bad for Dickie in this episode. Poor little scrawny guy with the bum leg. He was getting shoved around by everyone! I felt a little for Carol but really she is just going to be moving on to the next job and I Love Boyd taking control and getting something for himself. I just want to know how he got Arlo to sign over when he was so adamant about not taking a payout the week before. Actually, Arlo said that Aunt Helen actually owned the land so Boyd would have to convince her. But when Boyd said to Ava that he was just making it up as he went along it makes me think that he doesn't actually have the signature and now has to go back and win over Helen. Either way it will be interesting to see when he has to promise them to get the land and money. That handshake with Mags about not stepping in on pot growing also gave me a bad feeling that Boyd may not stick to his promise down the road. I can't wait for the next few eps, but I'm SO sad this series only runs 12 episodes. Why not 20-24 like most?? Gaaaah I can't take another 8 months of waiting!! I so wish they had at least 18 episodes but if it's a choice between no Justified and a short season, I am very happy with taking the 12 episodes.

Well, another awesome episode of Justified (I can't believe only 2 more left! :() I loved so many things about this episode: Some great conversations: I really enjoyed seeing Mags and Aunt Helen in the diner. I didn't realize they were the ones actually trying to keep the peace, and color me super-surprised that Mags intends to hold to it, at least for her part. Dickey, on the other hand, I just can't trust now. Also Art and Raylan. Art really laid into him and I can't say I blame him. Reminded me of a father scolding a son. Yeah I love you and you're great, but you're acting sloppy, I'm having to pick up your messes, and I guess I'll just have to deal with it. I would have liked to see just a little remorse and or shame from Raylan other than just kind of rolling his eyes, saying "ok", and walking out the door. I hope we see more of how this will affect their relationship. Boyd and Johnny: Johnny! He's back! And not dead! Boyd really laid it on thick, I wonder exactly what the heck he is up to now. Stealing money again? Drugs? Did he ever say exactly? Loretta and Raylan. Glad we got to see Loretta again, though I'm sad this will probably be the last time. I'd like to see her come back some time in the future. I like the character and the actor. Once again, the dark spot for me was watching Winona and Raylan. I just can't stand her character! She is foolish, and selfish. I cannot believe Raylan was all ready to pick back up and move to wherever-it-was for her again and start over. No. No. NO RAYLAN! Geez it's to the point where I groan every time I see her on screen and I just want to fast-forward. We all know Raylan isn't really going to leave Harlan any time soon so what was the point? Also, where has Rachel been? I want to see more Rachel! ETA: Oh, and Boyd and Ava? Totally saw that coming from a mile away! Good for them, guess we'll see how it goes. Especially since Ava seems to be leaning towards the dark side!
Umm, you forgot about Ava and Boyd at the end! I was surprised about the Mags/Aunt Helen convo too. Let's see if Mags holds true to her word but I can see her doing so if it means setting up her son and his family for a nice cushy life. Unfortunately I only see Dickie going down in flames but I hope I'm wrong because I'd like to see him around for at least a little while longer. I have totally forgotten about Johnny, what was his role last time we saw him? Was he just one of the Crowder gang and worked for Boyd's dad? Did he have a larger role than that that I am forgetting? I think this means that I will just have to have a season 1 marathon for a refresher which sounds like a completely awful way to spend some free time. ;) More Rachel AND Tim please!!

Either the last episode or second to last. He is Boyd's cousin, and yes, worked for the Crowder clan until Pa Crowder (I'm slipping on his name) shot him and left him for dead.
Let me know when you watch this weeks ep OPD, because I had the same expression as this cat at the end of it. It needs to be talked about.

I might have made that same expression. SO good and SOOO bad at the same time! :( Ok, you first... ;)
Sorry I never got back to talk about the episode but now we can cover the finale too! If you haven't watched it yet, just know it's another great one.

Wow, so season 3 started off with a bang!! Looks like we have some great villians being introduced. Mr. Ice-Pick guy was CREEPY, and cold-blooded, as is Wynn's new boss (forget his name). My only beef is that WHINE-ona is still around, and of course still with Raylan (even though I highly doubt that baby she's pregnant with is his-you know he'll take care of it especially seeing as he pretty much ran Gary off). And as always, great one-liners and conversations between Raylan & Boyd. I'm excited for this season and can't wait for more.
I really enjoyed the season premiere too! It's gonna be hard to beat Mags but so far the new supporting characters and villians are looking pretty interesting. I also loved that last shot of Boyd walking past Dickie in jail and you realize he wanted to see a judge that day all along!
