A little bone bruise or a sprain doesn't equal a blown out knee. That was Aneesa blowing things way out of proportion and exaggerating as she always does.
Did you not see her knee?? It was bad.
It wasn't blown out. If your knee is blown out, you can't walk on it or put any weight on it at all, period.
I think we can all agree that Aneesa is just as much a drama queen, as she is an elimination round queen. :)
Though it wasn't entertaining, exciting, or nail-biter by any means, Katie's first one-on-one victory since The Inferno on Cutthroat vs. Ayiiia was a personal victory for me.
Anyone mind if I do my usual 'stupidasshugepost' and go through em all? XD Actually ill go through Gauntlet/Inferno/Inferno 2/Gauntlet 2/Duel ones and see if anyone agrees with me. :P Great Elimination Round Games - Dead Mans Drop (Gauntlet). Taken from one of the missions of Battle of the Sexes, it somehow works very well here. (Notable matchups: Sarah vs David/Matt/Irulan and Coral vs Tina) - Perfect Fit (Gauntlet). Nice mix of puzzle and action in the round along with the 'will they wont they' exitement factor that pushes it along. (Notable matchups: Trishelle vs Steve, Sarah vs Trishelle) - Shack Attack (Inferno II). A fun game matched up with an intresting matchup. The excitement and intensity from it worked well. - Balls In (Inferno II). A very exciting matchup and game equaled with two players who pulled out all the punches to try and win the elimination challenge makes a very good game. One of the best even. - Patchwork (Inferno II) Hot on the heels of 'Balls In' comes this chaotic game, again a great matchup with two crazy ladies, complete with a near edge finish. Ranks up with Balls In I think. - Reverse Tug-O-War Gauntlet 2). Fun game, good matchups and two large upsets occouring in the game (Beth beating Ruthie/Timmy beating Derrick) boosts it significantly. - Ascender (Duel). The sky version of 'Perfect Fit'. Again its a great mix of the two main elements (mental/physical) and intresting matchups keep it working well. - Pole Wrestle (Duel). Has to be here if only for the Wes vs Derrick matchup (which is the best matchup ever in my opinion). Okay so the other matchups are not as good but that one brings it here. Okay Elimination Round Games - Hang-Man (Gauntlet). Taken from the first mission in 'Battle of the Seasons'. This is essentially similar to 'Dead Mans Drop'. Only it was only used once and the matchup (Katie vs Rachel.B) wasnt too intresting. - Knock your Block off (Gauntlet). Good and simple concept but also one which would have beneifted a lot from extending to a 'Best out of 3' matchup. (Notable matchup: Abe vs Miz) - Pole Climb (Gauntlet). Likely would have been better had there been any competition when it was played. Instead Alton wiped the floor with Latterian and the game wasnt seen again. - Human Candelabra (Inferno). Good endurance game but unfortunatly lacks the 'oomph' of some of the others and is too quiet really. - Don't Toss Your Cookies (Inferno). Intresting and well put together but I just have a real dislike for 'grossout' challenges. - Brick by Brick (Inferno). Intresting concept, some actual physical and/or mental thinking needed for it. It also helped the arguments and crazypants behaviour around the game fuelled everything even more. It makes me wonder how it would have gone, had the game been 'Guy vs Guy' as originally intended. - Hang Tough (Inferno II). Good game, bad matchup. Would have likely benefited from a 'Best of 3' thing but given the matchup, not sure it would have made much difference. - Wrap and Roll (Inferno II). Another good game but one that fell apart fast when Jodi completely panicked. - Pegged (Inferno II). Another case of good game, quite poor matchup. - Name That Coconut (Gauntlet 2). Intresting idea but quite alienating to any viewer who hasnt been around Real World, Road Rules and the challenges for a long time. - Beach Brawl (Gauntlet 2). Incredibly physical game cut down a little by one overtly overbalanced game (Alton/Danny) vs one quit (Beth/Aneesa) but claws back with the Syrus/Derrick matchup. Awful EliminatioN Round Games - Ride em Cowboy (Gauntlet). Very meh and not all that intresting. Also led to the head-smackingly annoying elimination of Theo right at the end of the show. - Bug Helmet (Inferno). Over too soon for anything good to happen - Chili Counter (Inferno). Again, none too intresting and not close enough to even get a 'okay' mention. - Noise Pollution (Inferno). Total garbage - Scratchathon (Inferno). Another total garbage-fest with the only high-point being the mass of arguments in and around the elimination game at the time. - Smell You Later (Inferno). Not a fan of 'Gross' challenges and theres too little interaction between competitiors to make it work. - Knock Your Block Off (Inferno II). I actually cannot remember this game AT ALL. Hence im putting it here. - Spinner (Inferno II). Boring to watch and a boring finish to it. - Capture the Flag (Gauntlet 2). Nice idea but one thats been done in a lot more intresting way beforehand. Again the really badly balanced matchups (Alton vs Anyone) and the quit (Cameron vs Kina) ruins it. - Sticky Situation (Gauntlet 2). What was this again? Even watching it back, the rules are not 100% apparent, it didnt help it was only played once. - I Can (Duel). What a hateful irritating little game with too little build up and hardly any payoff. Boring matchups didnt help matters. - Push Me (Duel). Screw you ***** flimsy carabiner.
Though it wasn't entertaining, exciting, or nail-biter by any means, Katie's first one-on-one victory since The Inferno on Cutthroat vs. Ayiiia was a personal victory for me.
Anything Katie wins is the best :D
I was always a fan of the Landon versus Brad elimination in Duel 2. It was one that I fully expected Landon to win, but Brad, being the scrappy guy he is, pulled a move that no one else would have thought of and pulled off the upset. I thought the circumstances of Landon getting in were ****, as Evan showcased just how shady he can be, but it ended up being a solid elimination round. Aside from that, I enjoyed the CT/Brad "Push Me" duel. I remember first watching that and having my jaw literally drop on two occasions: the first time was when CT physically shamed Brad by completely dominating him, and the second time, of course, when CT ripped the flag. It was quick, but shocking. And of course, there is Wes versus Derrick...
I have no real order, so I'll just go by order of when they happened. 1. Kendal vs Leah (Brick By Brick - The Inferno) - It's not even the game itself, it's just everything that happened around it that made this so amazing to watch. This is the kind of stuff I miss from the old shows. 2. Brad vs Abram (Balls In - The Inferno 2) - Probably my favorite in terms of the game itself. Besides how cool it was and how much I wished I could do something like this, the end result behind it would really give one team the advantage over the other. Whoever won would have 4 great guys left vs 3 on the other team. In the end, the losing team still ended up winning in the end either way. 3. Wes vs Derrick (Pole Wrestle - The Duel) - No real major explanation needed here. It was just two guys who both wanted it and fought hard. It also got Wes to cry on camera. 4. Timmy vs Abram (Smash House - The Inferno 3) - Aside from the ridiculous DQ at the end of this, I thought this was pretty damn cool. Another one of those things I'd love to do, aside from you know, the multiple shards of glass in my legs and the bleeding. 5. Brad vs Landon (Back Off - The Duel 2) - A lot of people underestimate Brad. I think this really showed that he is one of the best guys on these shows. According to Derrick's podcast, Brad had the ring move planned out the day before it even happened. Shockingly enough it worked, it's just too bad the guy lost by 2 seconds in the final.
Danny vs. Alton (G2) was the best elimination round ever. Everyone knows that.
Danny vs. Alton (G2) was the best elimination round ever. Everyone knows that.
Um, get outta here. Kina vs. Cameran, hello?
Um, get outta here. Kina vs. Cameran, hello?
Well, that was my second. The thing was Cameran didn't compete so well :( Although Jisela did. So those are in my top 3. Danny vs. Alton, Cameron vs. Kina and Jisela vs. Ruthie. Danny vs. Alton, was thrilling. I was riveted the entire time. It was an off-your-seat, nail biter of an elimination round.
Danny vs. Alton (G2) was the best elimination round ever. Everyone knows that.
I actually did love this just because of how pathetic Danny performed in it. Step 1. Run straight at opponent Step 2. Miss Step 3. Lose Especially for Syrus's quote "My team's like 'DANNY GO GET HIM!' 'Cause Danny if you take out Alton, my team's winning this whole damn challenge!"

If anything, all it did was further solidify how weak of a competitor Brad is against top challenge competitors in stuff that involves a combination of physical strength and athleticism. Prior to taking on Landon, he had been humiliated in elimination rounds before by elite challenge players like Abe, Derrick, and CT. Brad did nothing against Landon to prove he is an underrated competitor or even a remotely strong competitor. He got tossed around by a ragdoll by a guy that was smaller than he was and was basically gift wrapped the victory by production.

He got the first one cause he got his clip right next to his ring at the same time Landon did. Had Landon not tried to kill him like he wasn't supposed to, he'd have scored. Yeah I get that Landon's shoulder got destroyed, but hey in something physical like that, it's possible. Had Landon gotten like a heart attack or something like that, I'd probably have a different opinion. Or are you just mad about the whole Push Me thing :wink2: Wait humiliated by Abe? He lost by 1 point when he hit the rim of the container thing on his last shot. I really don't think that constitutes getting humiliated.

Before the gauntlet starts, Alton & Danny are putting oil on themselves. Julie: "Danny is all fired up and he is ready to go crazy". The gauntlet starts and Alton taps Danny on the back and knocks him out of the circle easily. Julie: "It's just embarrassing really is what it is. The first charge, bless his heart, Danny tries, but Alton like taps him on the back and he goes flying 20 feet and it last I think about 2.5 nanoseconds"

I really don't think that constitutes getting humiliated.
The only problem I had with the Landon/Brad match was that TJ stopped things because Landon wasn't going for the ring but on the third and final point TJ let Brad keep wrestling Landon when it was clear Brad wasn't going for the ring and was just trying to stop Landon from winning (Landon already had Brad's ring) and the only reason Brad got Landon's ring was because Landon had to turn around at some point but Brad wouldn't let him and when Brad finally let Landon turn around is when he grabbed the ring off Landon's back. I mean, maybe Brad didn't completely destroy Landon like Landon did him but Brad wasn't going for the ring either.
Abe was the clear aggressor when he went up against Brad. He had him back on his heels during every collision. Nothing seemed to have changed too much from the looks of how their head-to-head battle in the Riot Shield challenge on Cutthroat played out. His "win" against CT was clearly a joke and everybody knows it, so I won't even waste time discussing that. As for his win against Landon, it was a complete and total joke. He beat Landon 2-1... he got his first point because TJ penalized Landon for not going straight for his hook after acquiring Brad's ring... yet TJ allowed Brad to break all of the rules he penalized Landon for earlier in order for him to get the game deciding point. If he DQ'ed Landon for wrestling around and not going straight for the hook after getting Brad's ring, he should've done the exact same thing to Brad during the third round because Brad certainly did not go straight for his hook after he got possession of Landon's ring. It really pissed me off that such a middle of the road competitor like Brad got two opportunities to win a huge sum of money in a final challenge thanks entirely in part to judgment calls from production. CT deserved to be going against Wes in the final on Duel 1 and Landon deserved to be competing against Mark and Evan in the final on Duel 2. I don't think Brad is in any position at all to be labeled as underrated as a challenge competitor given his obvious physical shortcomings whenever he's gone head-to-head in something physical against an elite challenge competitor... plus out of all the challenges he participated in, he only stood out as the best individual competitor on one single occassion during all of those events. If you're going to get lumped in with the top competitors, you have to prove you're the best at more than one thing out of several dozen events.
I'm not gonna argue now whether or not the guy is really good or not 'cause I've seen him do well and all and that's why I have that opinion, but I do remember that Brad said when he did his podcast with Derrick that he told Evan on camera that he was gonna try that ring move on Landon. I think that if they had him saying it on camera, they'd have said it was against the rules from the start. And in terms of the Riot Act, the daily shows that him vs Abe wasn't a curb stomp like they made it seem. That doesn't mean that the whole thing which we can't see wasn't dominated by Abe, but it does at show that he did get a bad edit. Getting off topic now so I'll stop with this. On a different note, I hope that on the next challenge they have elimination rounds that aren't pretty much carbon copies of the old ones. Ex. No more wrestling objects out of opponents hands, less tug of war, etc.

Poor Danny, he really believed he would win. Tap, you lose.
It also played into Brad's hands that Landon's shoulder was essentially ripped out of its socket during the elimination.
??? He was injured during the elimination? This is why I come on here... Wow, that makes me view that duel completely differently now.
??? He was injured during the elimination? This is why I come on here... Wow, that makes me view that duel completely differently now.
Yes, I believe Landon posted pics of his shoulder operation on his blog or Myspace.

some memorable ones over the years Duel 1: Wes defeats Derrick pole grip thing (probably best all time) Brad "defeats" C.T in pole push thing (definately memorable, maybe not cuz of the elimiantion itself but the madness that ensued) Inferno 3: Abe defeats Timmy glass smash (great send off, and great duel) Gauntlet 3: Adam defeats Danny ball brawl ( adam showed some serious quickness in this one, even though danny isn't much of a competitor) Coral defeats beth ball brawl (pretty sick) Duel 2: Brad defeats landon back off ( brad pulling off a great upset using a sick move, took out the favorite and a challenge legend) The ruins: Cohutta defeats Wes in rope thing ( significant upset to previously 8-0 in elimination wes) Johnny defeats Dunbar in rope wrestle( a signifcant win in johnnys challenge career as it was his first elimination win and it proved he was not a chump, also showed dunbar is self hype) cutthroat: Brandon defeat ty in pole me over( nice to see that happen to a nice guy) Tyler defeat Johnny /CT (best moment ever when johnny got carried like a back pack)
My top 5. 1. Derrick/Diem vs Darrel/Aviv (FM1) 2. Ev vs Casey (G3) lol 3. Ev/Luke vs Landon/Carley (FM2) 4. Beth vs Svetlana (The Duel) 5. Timmy vs Derrick (G2)
Of all the elimination rounds that have happened, THESE are your top 5? You've got to be kidding.
Well time to finish off the Good/Okay/Awful list of mine, this time from Inferno 3 onwards (With a mention of Fresh Meat 1 since I forgot that last time). Good: Zero Gravity (Inferno 3) - A very clever game and a very fun/exciting matchup to boot. Corner Ball (Inferno 3) - Derrick wins! yaaaay :D Brutal game indeed though Ankle Breaker (Gauntlet 3) - I actually really liked this game, okay it did help that it only appeared once during an actually half-decent matchup (Frank/MJ) but eh. Ring Wrestle (Island) - Classic sort of matchup here with a good selection of people taking part in it. Ball Buster (Island) - Never mind the scheming that went through beforehand. I loved this faceoff and some of the chaos going on in it (Paula flying off the ball. hee) Bridge It (Island) - And I also liked this one a lot too, some skill, some luck and some smarts all equal a winning game. Rat in a Cage (Island) - A very tense game. Love it. The Elevator (Duel 2) - A quite clever game here with some intresting visuals and at least one super close moment (Tori/Aneesa) Back Off (Duel 2) - A seemingly simple game but with some very intresting gameplay in both with two matchups (Kim/Ruthie and Brad/Landon) showing clever gameplay and two brutal matchups (Shauvon/Aneesa and Paula/Aneesa) Push Over (Duel 2) - Simple concept, fun times all round Spot On (Duel 2) - Oi, four of the Duel 2 games here here. Oh well :) Well deserved placing with some fun matchups. Shoots and Ladders (Ruins) - Some close moments and two suprisingly good matchups leads to a great opener for the Ruins. Oh Ring (Ruins) - I actually really enjoyed this one. One good matchup (Katie/Sarah), one eh matchup (Danny/Darrell) and a brilliant showing at Spring Break Challenge (SO CLOSE) leads it here. Spool (Ruins) - Cohutta beating Wes was brilliant, Kimberly vs Ibis not as much but it was still a tight and fun game. Rag Doll (Ruins) - Johnny vs Dunbar and Kimberly vs Susie made for a great game with some close competiton. Handcuffs (Cutthroat) - A brutal and often tight game ruined a little by the lack of any really close matchup. Back Up Of Me (Cutthroat) - Teehee, CT dragging Johnny around was hillarious. Pole Me Over (Cutthroat) - As was Ty just collapsing after talking such a big game. That and the shock of Tyler/Derrick :) Die Hard (Cutthroat) - I actually also really liked this matchup too with some close calls (Laurel/Camilla. SO close) Okay: Exile (Fresh Meat) - An okay idea ruined by the weight and flag twists which in turn, led to an obvious final. Head Rush (Inferno 3) - A fun idea for a game spoiled by Alton thrashing Tyrie so quickly. Watch Your Back (Inferno 3) - Danny needs to stop playing these challenges XD Hes just outclassed so easily in the elimination matchups. Maybe if we make him go against Casey he would win. Shimmy (Inferno 3) - Meh idea, nice matchup. Simples. Force Field (Gauntlet 3) - An okay game made meh with two very unitresting matchups early on and was never seen after those two. Ram It Home (Gauntlet 3) - Again like Force Field, two very meh matchups leads to a very meh game despite its potential. Ball Brawl (Gauntlet 3) - JEEZ, How many times did this freaking game get played? Too many times thats what. While this did give the Coral/Beth matchup everyone wanted, it also gave multiple boring matchups including the Casey/Ev and Brooke/Jillian matches. Leaning Tower (Island) - Good idea, poor execution since lets face it, Tonya was never going to win this. The Rack (Island) - This is a little borderline Good/Okay for me but I think its not good enough for that area. Timbur (Island) - A very meh game and a very meh matchup. Duel Pole Dancing (Duel 2) - Eh... Not a fan though the Eric/Derek matchup was kinda laughable Burnout (Ruins) - Good idea but would have seriously benefited from a best of three format. Hog Tie (Ruins) Dunno why but I never though it was that brilliant, the Kellyanne/Veronica matchup made it worthwhile but still :/ Lost and Found (Fresh Meat 2) - An okay take on the Exile format but repeated use of the same trekking lines really helped people who went in multiple times. Weight for Me (Fresh Meat 2) - Read 'Lost and Found' and copy. Not much else to say. Swat (Cutthroat) - This game feels like it was made up while production were knocking down beers. Funny but completely out there. Awful: Ejection (Inferno 3) - "You are not allowed to hit your opponent" says TJ. Cue Jenn smacking her opponent many times and taking the win :P Spokesmodel (Inferno 3) - Very blah and over too soon Smash House (Inferno 3) - A bit 'What the Hell' DQ coupled with Timmy seriously injuring his knees leads to me wondering who thought this was a good idea and how this passed safety checks. Sliders (Gauntlet 3) - Awful awful awful. Puzzles aint bad but when they are done like this, its just irritating/boring to watch, especially when it leads to decimating the Rookies thanks to horrible team balancing. Other than Frank/Zach matchup, all the others would have been much more exciting with the other games. Water Bound (Island) - Just not that intresting at all really, especially for a final matchup. Shadow Fighter (Ruins) Brilliant idea let down severly by one washout (Nick/Wes) and one thrown matchup (Ev/Kellyanne) Crunch (Ruins) - Oh hell, this was a pretty lame Ruins really. Muay Thai (Ruins) - Susie vs Casey. Enough said.
Watch Your Back (Inferno 3) - Danny needs to stop playing these challenges XD Hes just outclassed so easily in the elimination matchups. Maybe if we make him go against Casey he would win.
He did on Fresh Meat 1 and lost :shifty:
He did on Fresh Meat 1 and lost :shifty:
LOL. Oh yeah o:) Well I think that roundabout says it all. haha

I actually thought the Ev vs. Kellyanne matchup was pretty intense--everyone thought that it would have been an even match, but the only reason it lasted so long is because Ev wanted Kellyanne to earn the win. She kind of crushed KA when she felt like it, once she figured out how to play the game.
