CBS could certainly save the series without him if they really want to. It is a popular franchise so I would not be surprised to see them bring somebody else in (be funny as heck if they cast his brother to replace him as Charlie and bring in Martin as him from the future a few episodes).

I think they could very easily recast someone and get huge ratings. I think just from all the Charlie Sheen controversy alone that a ton of people would tune in to watch it if it did come back on the air with someone in Sheen's place. I don't even like the show and I think I would tune in for at least the first episode out of curiosity.

I was just reading it as well. TBH I think it will flop. I really wanted someone with an edge.

I don't know what to think about Charlie's replacement. Ashton Kutcher was one of the last people I would have thought of for a replacement.
