Voting anyone other than a girl or Phillip isn't going to help them on physical challenges in the near future. I know Rob thinks he is playing smart by voting out Matt just for shaking hands with the other team, but I think it is a stupid move at this point in the game IMO.
I see what Rob is saying, but I don't think it is the best move. If your tribe is weak and loses every immunity, you are going to get wiped out at the merge. This maneuver could have waited a few weeks as cleanup work before the merge rather than week 2.
****. Matt got taken to school by Rob...
Like I said earlier, I don't agree with the decision. They were the weaker tribe out of the gate and now they are in even worse shape.

They were already down a guy to begin with and now they are even worse off. Once again an idiotic move in the beginning of the game.

I agree, but Rob has already witness an inseparable duo (Parv & Rus) and he didn't want to take any chances. He knows that the tribe is a bit weaker but he still has the control.
I don't like Rob's move. I think it was too early and Phillip is to unpredictable to keep in the game. I'm glad Phillip is staying though, he is an entertaining character.

Rob has to start playing the game at some point because the more people he blindsides the better he has a chance at making it to the merge. It's a shame if he doesn't get voted out by his tribe with a huge blindside like that. :king:
I enjoyed this episode. I am enjoying this season much better than the last already.
I always liked Rob. I liked how he played and I still do. It might have not been the smartest move at this point, but he has seen what a couple can do. Maybe they should have voted out blondie (I can't remember her name)?
I also like how no one likes Russell on his team. Finally, people got a chance to see him play.

Agreed. I've always said that, at the beginning of the game, when it's tribe against tribe, I think you should almost always vote out the weakest player on your tribe. At this point in the game, you are trying to beat the other tribe, so wouldn't this make the most sense? I understand some other factors come into play, but this strategy makes the most sense to me.
With that said, I still think Boston Rob has control over his tribe. He's clearly running the show. I love how he manages to do it though without really ******* anybody off or making himself seem like a big threat, even though he is. Although, from the previews, he obviously ****** off Andrea by sending home her boy.
I'm guessing Russell's tribe loses next week judging on the preview and how Stephanie's saying it's going to be the best blindside ever. I hope their tribe loses, but at the same time, I don't want Russell having any control.

I was disappointed there seemed to be such a blatant spoiler in the preview that potentially ruins the first half of the episode by giving away the immunity challenge winners.
Maybe it is a week where both tribes need to send someone home, although the "preview department" seems to be getting more lax about these things every year to the point you almost have to avoid the previews to not be completely spoiled as to all the outcomes of the next episode.

if they did a both tribe send someone home, I wonder how they'd do Redemption Island would it be
1) a 3 way duel
2) would the booted face off in a duel just to get to RI and then another faceoff against the person in RI
3) would there be a reward challenge where part of the reward is order in RI. Say Ometepe wins then whoever survives between Francesca and Matt would have to face the person who got voted out of Zapatera first, then the winner of that would face off against the Ometepe boot.
The challenge that they did for reward and immunity is one of my favorite challenges of all time, but this one sucked. It was too easy for them to grab the key before hitting the tile (and in someone's case, without hitting the tile at all) and the swimming distance was laughable. They are supposed to be dead tired by the time they get back to the starting point. When someone can get to the platform in one single dive, it's too short.
I still really hate that they are doing combined reward/immunity challenges. It takes away from the fun. My favorite part of the episode has always been the competitions and I understand that there's always a lot going on around camp that we never see, but that doesn't mean I want 30 minutes of the episode devoted to **** that happens at camp. It just gets boring after a while. But I do understand that Survivor is an overwhelmingly social game, so they need to show stuff like that so people understand why things go down the way they do at tribal council. I just want them to go back to 2 competitions per episode.
Kind of surprised they sent Matt home, but I think he could do really well on Redemption Island, with his whole "Jesus meant for it to be this way" mindset.

My guess would be that whichever tribe votes someone off first faces the person at Redemption Island first. Then the second tribe to vote someone off faces the winner of that.
So if there's a challenge that Zapatera wins, and they go to TC first and vote off [strike]hair sweater[/strike] Rooster, and then Ometepe votes off Phillip, then [strike]hair sweater[/strike] Rooster would face whoever wins the Francesca/Matt duel. Say Matt beats Francesca and then beats [strike]hair sweater[/strike] Rooster...Phillip would then face Matt.

I completely agree. I liked this challenge as well when they did it previously, but this one was just strange. They just wanted to use the same challenge place as last season I guess and not have to tear it down and they didn't want to waste time building one in the ocean. I also wish they would go back to two competitions per episode but I can't see that happening any time soon with the way these episodes are going.
