Ode to NBC Thursdays

I really do enjoy NBC Thursdays! It just makes it all the more amazing to me that NBC can't get its act together with all the great shows they have. I must admit, I'm not a big fan of 30 Rock though, never really grabbed me. I don't think The Office is going downhill. I think it needs a little bit of spice to make it seem new and refreshing again, but I don't think it has been bad. I think we just know all the characters too well now, which leaves less room for surprise and new situations. But we are also too attached to see any of them go. It's kind of stuck right now, which is a shame. Parks & Rec has quickly become my favorite of the night this season. After the short first season they quickly figured out how to make Leslie more appealing and the show just took off from there. The past few weeks have been killer though, with DJ Roomba and the whole sequence with Jerry last night ending with the splitting ************ combo had me rolling. :D I've been a big fan of Mike Schur before I even knew his real name back when he was part of FireJoeMorgan.com, so I'm happy to see him doing so well now!

No Friends? No Will and Grace? I'll pass.

I watch Chuck and the Apprentice on NBC. That is it...

I hate NBC on thursday since most of the shows lack diversity save for a few characters on Community and maybe 30 rock (which is the best show on there) and The office. I agree the office is goin downhill fast but the show was never funny in the first place, imho. But then aain I'm biased since I loved A Different World on Thursday nights.

So you [I]hate[/I] NBC Thursdays because "most of the shows lack diversity" even though you went on to exclude 3 of the 4 shows? So really you only think one of the shows is lacking in characters of a race other than Caucasian. That is what you meant by lacks diversity right? That you thought the shows were too white. You do know that 3 out of the 9 main characters on Parks & Rec, the one show you did not mention and I am assuming you think is the most lacking in "diverse" characters, are of a race other than Caucasian, right? Which is more than The Office and 30 Rock (depending on who you consider a main character since that cast is so huge).

Donald Glover and aziz ansari are hilarious so with that I watch parks and recreations and the Community. Samberg was great this week on Parks and Recreations.

Aziz Ansari is seriously one of the funniest commedians today everyone should definately watch out for him in the nere future

I honestly have not cared for the NBC lineup in recent years. Now in years past like in the 80s in particular it was stellar. Thursday nights was Cosby, Family Ties (and then A Different World), Cheers & Night Court. It was powerhouse comedy that still stands up today. On Friday nights, it was Miami Vice all the way! Other than Law & Order, NBC has not done much recently that I've been interested. As for the other networks they own (USA, in particular), they've been stellar with Burn Notice leading the way.

I am getting so excited for Parks & Rec to come back on tv Jan 20th! After 8:30 my channel doesn't change from NBC (Big Bang is on at 8 on CBS soooo sorry about that one, Community. I watch you online).

I think the Office is starting to get back on track. Classy Christmas was (in my opinion) one of the best episodes since season 4, China was pretty underrated, and even last night's (despite being relatively Jim-less) was pretty good. I think they would've been better had the audience been more emotionally attached to Holly, which is difficult being that her relationship with Michael only lasted 3-ish episodes.
