He reminds me of Chet.....He seems interesting hope he can bring something new to the table

MTV was looking for a University of Maryland student this year (no doubt)...3 of them made it to the Semi-Finals and have a lot in common with one another... - 2 were Communication majors - 2 were Conservatives - 2 were Jewish Guess which one happens to be all 3? Michael! haha Personally, I think the other 2 would of been better, but that may just be me.

i'd say if he's going to be compared to anyone early-on, it should be andrew from dc. they look alike, have the same type of pictures on their facebook, and have that awkward and hyper touch to them. the thing that throws me off- the super conservative angle. but at least it seems like he parties hard [according to fb]

He and I have a lot of mutual friends, judging from Facebook. I'm going to ask my friends and get more info about this guy too...he knows half my high school apparently and a few of my friends know him. I've apparently encountered him downtown a few times, from what I can remember he's pretty loud and out there, but he was very drunk both times. My friend says that he's not Jewish. His FB lists him as Roman Catholic.

When he went to Maryland, he was really good friends with a lot of girls in one of the Jewish sororities and dated a Jewish girl, but he isn't Jewish himself. I don't know if I can say that they were purposely going out of their way to find someone from University of Maryland, but it's kinda interesting how 3 UMD students made it to Semi-Finals this year. Not to mention that about 3 or 4 years ago there was a casting call at one of the bars right outside the campus grounds. It would make sense though for MTV to cast someone from a large state school as they have in the previous New Orleans season (Eric/WVU, Mackenzie/UCF, Knight/UW-Milwaukee). I think bigger schools draw attention to a large audience who find it cool that someone from their school is on the show. If Michael isn't Jewish (not confirmed yet) than I guess he would be Catholic and that would mean 2/3 of the semi-finalist were Catholic, not Jewish. 2 of them were male and 1 was a female. The other two were both Hispanic. Michael does hang out with a lot of chicks from the Jewish Sorority which is known as Delta Phi Epsilon. Guess who is from Delta Phi Epsilon in the cast? Oh right Heather Marter! Coincidence? Most likely! I think it becomes very apparent though for those of you have been involved in the casting process that MTV already knows what they're looking for before casting begins. They may change one or two things here or there, but they definitely go into casting knowing what types of people they're looking for. I guess it just comes down to if you have the right combination of everything they want. More information later...I like to keep you guys interested. haha

...No, he mostly hangs out with girls from Sigma Delta Tau. I know the girls in his profile pictures because one of my best friends is in that sorority. They're in SDT, not DPhiE. I'm not going to doubt that he has friends in DPhiE because I don't know him that well, but he definitely has more friends in SDT. As one of my friends said to me, "They were like, in love with him." Look through his profile pictures. In the second one, they're commenting on how he should be the SDT sweetheart. All of the girls in his profile pictures are SDTs. Sidenote, DPhiE is barely a Jewish sorority, let alone THE Jewish sorority on campus. It's not nationally Jewish, probably about 50/50 at Maryland, and is really just known in that category because of how Jewish UMD is as a whole. Sorry if I'm constantly correcting you guys, but I don't want wrong info to be floating around the internet and I'm only correcting stuff that I know isn't right.

So I'm assuming that if you're in the semi's with the same credentials as the other people (I.E. the UMD group) and don't move on to the finals, your essentially SOL for future castings? Because who wants to see the same type of people casted over and over again?....wait they do. :wink2:

I could give you over 30 pledge sisters who are Jewish in that Sorority. SDT has always been given the bad rap of "STD" as well as the Greek letters spelling out "EAT". Not correcting you on Michael being friends with the SDTs, but I am going to correct you on saying DPhiE isn't known as a Jewish Sorority on the Maryland Campus. Maryland overall has a very large Jewish population though. Fun Fact: Both Sorority houses are located next to each other on Knox Rd. haha

I don't think though that a lot of cast members come from the same schools. So if I had to guess I don't think will see another University of Maryland student anytime soon. Someone might know better than I do, but what cast members are from the same schools in Real World? Let alone back-to-back seasons?

I also said, if you read again, that DPhiE is 50/50, so out of the four Jewish sororities on campus (AEPhi, DPhiE, SDT and Phi Sig), they are in fact the least Jewish. The other three are almost entirely Jewish. I'm also very aware of SDT's rap (actually...I almost typed STD myself a few times, haha). Anyway, this thread isn't meant to discuss the Jewish population in Maryland Greek life. I was just pointing out a small error, didn't mean to make a huge argument out of it.
