If one carefully views the segment frame by frame, its contrived nature is obvious. From time of day, to background, to clothing, anyone involved in TV production can see it. Sadly, this has become exploitative standard fare for much of reality reality TV.
Can you expand on what you're seeing here? I try to pay attention to the editing techniques to discern what actually happened vs. the storyline being portrayed, but as a layman all I can spot is the multiple camera angles in this scene.
Whether Eric cried for the camera, or he cried on a different night from the altercation with Laurel, what he said was true. He always has a fear doing these challenges. He know's people on his team want him to go home and other's want him to stay. I think he was genuinely excited to do Cutthroat to show people he lost weight and he wasn't just the big, red headed white dude anymore.

He's been doing a poor job of that in my opinion. I mean sure he did well in that one mission but he's still not all that great and let's be honest. How many challenges are there gonna be where his size is gonna be an advantage?

He's doing a poor job showing people that he lost weight? I never said anything about his athletic ability, I just said he was excited to do Cutthroat so people could see the new him. Also, I think he has been performing pretty well. He did well on the first 3 missions and beat Vinny in a Gulag that involved agility.

While I agree with you on everything else, I don't think that Gulag had much to do with agility, more like how your balance is and how you can shift your weight lol.

Which has a lot to do with agility...

Not to be nit pickey but agility is moving ones weight quickly and easily... in which case Easy did. He's a big dude but was nimble.
Which has a lot to do with agility...
Not entirely...
Agility is a combination of many things, and the most important in my eyes when it comes to agility are speed and stamina, both things which had no effect in this Gulag.

Being agile has little, if nothing at all, to do with stamina. It's basically the ability to move around well. That Gulag had a lot to do with agility, and Eric proved that he was very agile for his size.
I don't know Eric is a beast. A 6'3, 260 lb. man. I think he would carry vinny on his back. He seems like a strong dude. If the challenge had to do with stamina, or running or standing on one foot ala Mallory vs. Christina, I don't think Eric would win. But if there was ever a tug-of-war mission, I would want Eric on my team.

You're kidding right...? Coming from a college athlete here, I'll tell you stamina has a lot to do with how agile you are. If you can't move around well without getting tired quickly you are worthless. To be agile, you need to be able to switch your body's speed and position very quickly, once again, without stamina, you're worthless.
Ok, so Eric and Vinny had to shift their weight slightly while rocking a block, it didn't require nearly as much agility as you're making it out to have.
I can't believe you're going to pull the athlete card here when your definition of agility is completely off base. I could have swam Division 1 in college if I really wanted to, and I stand by my previous statement about stamina having very little to do with agility. And this is coming from an agile person.
My cat's breathe smells like cat food.
I got the door tor.
Please no one argue definitions. It's juvenile and both you guys are way above that. I can see other people debating on something stupid like that, but not you 2.
I still love Vinny's defeat. Not so much how he got beaten, but what his convo with Big Easy after.
Vinny: "You ******** suck, I wooped your ******* ***"
Eric: "Whos?"
Vinny: "Yours, you ****!"
Eric: "Whos?"
Vinny: "Shut the **** up"

Just goes to show how well he takes losses, or how educated he is when it comes to having a conversation. I mean, he's obviously not the most charismatic person to ever be on these shows lol.
Oh I forgot one thing.
I was kinda happy when John got his *** kicked at the bar. I think that stuff like that is the reason why they don't let the cast out like they used to.

True. But it's funny because what he says makes absolutely no sens. He lost and he's telling Big Easy he wooped his ***? hahah and then when Big Easy asks him again "who?" He says "Shut up".

I doubt it, they don't let them out cause they like controlling the envirorment, and I bet the only reason BMP was ****** was cause they didnt get it on camera.

This just shows that Vinny doesn't know too many words to begin with and apparently the ones he does know all rhyme with suck.

**** that was one of the best "conversations" ever. It was like...dude, if Easy sucks, and he just beat your ***, then you suck even worse. It wasn't even a bull**** win like Push Me in the Duel. And I love Eric's comeback...he could have been so much meaner about it.

Miss playing VR with you Moonpaw!
I was laughing so hard. Not like a "Ha-Ha" Vinny you lost, but a genuine "What a ******** convo" laugh.
If I was Eric, and Vinny said "I wooped your ***" I would crack up in his face. I usually laugh at innapropriate times. But when Easy was asking him who, he said "Shut the **** up" again hysterical. Why didn't Vinny just answer him. I wish I was there.
Eric should have just said "scoreboard" back to Vinny. I enjoyed "Ballgame!" though. Isn't it crazy that given all the flak Big Easy gets for Gauntlet 3, he's 2-1 in one-on-one elimination rounds? I find it especially funny when you consider that "team leader" Johnny is 1-2 and Dunbar, the first overall pick, is 0-2.
The thing about Eric though is that size helps in a lot of eliminations, but means nothing for finals. If you don't have endurance (or the ability to be carried easily by teammates), then you're just an anchor. I don't think Eric is a liability in missions, and he would do well in eliminations (and proved himself in one that really doesn't rely on size), but until he does something to show his endurance (i.e. going for a run with the guys), they're not going to stop trying to get rid of him.
P.S. I miss VR with you guys, too!

Eric's 2-2, beat Nehemiah, lost to Brad, lost to Derek, and beat Vinny.

My mistake. I forgot about the Pole Wrestle with Brad in The Duel.
I loved this episode. It was great seeing Katie about to rip apart Ty's self. Like how is he going to threaten her life that? But she kinda she provoked him.
Vinny is such a sore loser and the convo at the end was classic.
