Hah, I don't think Bunim-Murray and MTV have THAT much control over them.
I am not sure where to ask this, but what was that show that had a bunch of MTV reality stars living in a house making some really bad looking horror film? The only thing I recall was that Stephen and Trishelle from RW: Vegas was in it. I only saw maybe 10 minutes of a couple episodes, but have never heard or seen of it again.

Yeah, Katie from Road Rules as well. It was on E! and it followed a bunch of reality stars in the making of the movie "The Scorned" which may still be out on DVD if you want to see it. Horrible acting by Steven by the way...
I'll pass. I never knew if they were actually making a movie as a backdrop to a reality show or if the show was a scripted parody of reality stars making a horror film, if that makes sense. What I saw of the show was pretty bad so the movie they made must have been a close rival to Killer Clowns From Outer Space as the worst movie ever.
I've been hearing lots of rumors about Tami, from LA, being on season 2 of Basketball Wives. Has anyone else heard this?

IT WASNT, NOT, FUNNY!!!! Haha, Tami was hilarious. Very excited to see her again. :)
I never understood why they don't replay old season. Seriously, it will help bring in some audiences. Why don't they play The Real World: Brooklyn on 9/11 Real World: DC on the 4th of July Anything. Replay the older seasons that dominated in ratings. I WOULD LOVE THAT! And I know I'm not the only one who would.
You can watch those ones online. I wish they would put all the old old ones like London online.
Yeah but airing them might bring in new audiences. It beats having Jersey Shore airing every day.
Yeah but airing them might bring in new audiences. It beats having Jersey Shore airing every day.
I don't disagree about that. I would like them to rerun them all on a regular schedule--say 1-3 a.m. where I could record them and watch during the day, or during the day sometime.
Yeah I would LOVE to rewatch the older/better seasons. Oh well.
Yeah I would LOVE to rewatch the older/better seasons. Oh well.
They have San Francisco online on mtv.com and I've gotta tell you it's pretty addicting. Real World use to be so...real back then. That season makes me wanna watch New York through New Orleans (1999).
So I'm pretty sure that Season 1 and Las Vegas are the only full seasons on DVD. I know there are other extra-type dvds, but no other full seasons. I was wondering if anyone knew if there were plans to put any of the other seasons out on DVD any time soon because I've been really wanting a couple of them lately.

I was a 1 year old when RW started. it is really cool because I have finally started to see the old seasons. They are 10000000000000 times better than the newer seasons (plus I liked a lot of the people because I saw them on the challenges ex: challenge, challenge 2000 etc) Really enjoying the show

There is the on-going debate here about whether the older shows were different than the newer shows. I think they were too but would be interested to hear some of the things that make them seem so much better to you.

Knowing people like Eric Nies, Heather B, Puck Dave B and others made them seem more interesting. Also those seasons werent about the partying and craziness as much it was more about the people. Just like how the challenges use to focus on the challenges but now they also have more on the hookups, drinking etc.

Likewise, the older seasons' drama seemed to come from the difference in backgrounds and values, and the newer seasons' drama seems to be rooted in positioning themselves for a post-show career edge over the other cast members. The Challenges have never been a huge draw to me, but it feels to me not that they are focusing more on the drunk, hook-up drama but that the people are using that to get themselves screentime. Maybe I am just getting too jaded.
I'm very curious to see how the intro for the new season is going to be like. What's your favorite so far? YouTube - The Real World Intros

It's kinda hard to pick a "favorite" 30-second clip. They're all essentially the same... If you put a gun to my head though, I'd have to say the first nine... Hawaii or New Orleans most specifically, only because it takes me back to the late 90s' when the show was at its prime. The good 'ole days of Real World and Road Rules as I remember it... This video is more high quality, by the way: YouTube - Real World History: 22 Seasons of Intros
Whatever happened to Colin Mortensen? When I googled him, all I could find is something about how he joked (on his site/blog) about being gay. Hmmm. I thought Colin was hotttttttttt stufffffffffffffffffffffffff when he was on, I was in HS at the time. I also will never, ever get over my crush on Tim Beggy. I don't know why, but he'll always have a space in my heart, lol.

All I have to say about the seasons now vs. the seasons back in the day; the show has grown with time. The demographic for the show is different now than it was 10-20 years ago. That's why you get some of the older fans very turned off and disgusted with the show today because they've matured and grown themselves. Clubbing, partying, getting drunk has become so mainstream lately with 20-somethings, and that's what makes the show appealing to the general demographic/viewers of MTV today. Besides, the D.C. season was Bunim-Murray's attempt to be a more "serious" season... Although I enjoyed it, it flopped in ratings.. IMO if that season had aired in the late 90s or before the 2000 election, it probably would've done better. I think Brooklyn had a great balance between seriousness/partying... They should aim more for seasons like that.

Jersey Shore is watched because of the spectacle of these shallow people IMO. There is a quality difference between friends getting drunk and having fun and friends getting drunk and having all this faux drama.
