The Apprentice: Season 10 - Discussion
Season 10 kicks off with the arrival of 16 candidates, all impacted by the economic downturn and trying to revive their careers by winning employment with The Donald. The thirteen week interview proces opens with a test to create modern day workspaces. Marring the challenge: a fight and an office accident.
First time they've had a non-celebrity apprentice in forever. I looked for when it would premiere and it's been shown already. :laugh4: Gonna watch it later here though: The Apprentice
It was a good premiere as far as this show goes. The women were in carnivore mode out of the gate...
"They didn't even know that they lost before they started ripping each other's hair out." Poor Nicole. Really like James so far, and "Uncle Forti" was good for some laughs. :)
I really enjoyed the first episode... I've been looking forward to a regular edition... but the whole recession theme is hard to watch... it's depressing!
Episode 2 Thought Stephanie was pretty cool this episode. Her idea to sell things in bulk was a good one, but it didn't show if they even tried to do it. Trumps early firing of Lisa was hilarious!
Trumps early firing of Lisa was hilarious!
It would have been better if it was for real (nothing against Lisa.) I love it when he does random stuff like that. Pulling it back was a bit anticlimactic. As for Alex, he did have to go. He wasn't a killer. While I don't see myself as a killer, I do see that in the Trump organization you have to be one and Alex really was a puppy dog. BTW: This show tanked in the ratings. Epic tank, although it should still finish out in the Thursday 10PM time slot.
I'm not sure why, but Trumps eyes really bothered me this episode. That pink area around them was all I could focus on...
Episode 3 Wow James is gone already (I was pulling for him). I have to admit that cutting the judge/owner off was one of the stupidest moves ever. Pretty good episode though.

Cutting the owner off was on the stupidest things I've ever seen and for that he deserved to be fired. However, I couldn't help but to be a little annoyed that David wasn't the one to go...

Clearly they are keeping him around for the drama, but there is no way he could ever win.
I liked James too, but he made some key decisions that showed poor judgement. In addition to cutting off the owner/judge, why did he take Wade back to the boardroom? Didn't Wade come up with the webcam idea? Cesar Milan seemed very impressed by that idea -- and IMO, even though overall, the men should have lost, I thought their value add was way better than the women.
To me it seems like both teams are going to self destruct very soon if there isn't a mix up...

I was actually surprised the men lost, but we don't get to see everything. Obviously Cesar preferred the women, although I think the men were thinking outside the box and brought something new to the experience. Unfortunately, James ****** off one of the judges in one of the most idiotic moves in the history of the show. It might as well have been Donald Trump himself that he made wait while he worked on "logistics." It was a case of James trying to be a great organizer and totally discounting the environmental realities (i.e. the owner and judge.)
Episode 4 Disagreed with Trumps decision tonight, Mahsa was 100% in control of that project and continued her immature name-calling in the board room and somehow survived. I thought Tyana stood up for herself well and directly answered all accusations without breaking a sweat...it was like Jesus before Pontius Pilate or something...somehow they both lost against the crowd. Either way I thought both videos were terrible. Stupid + not funny = fail. Good episode though, as always.
These people are something else. The Apprentice seems kind of like a joke now. I am happy Trump & co. went back to the original version with regular people though. Last night's episode did crack me up, though. That David is obnoxious and needs to go, but obviously is still there due to his entertainment factor. His expressions are quite kooky, and I kept wondering why they were focusing so much time on showing him eat that bagel. It was pretty funny how goofy he looked eating that thing. Of course we find out he breaks half of his tooth on it. Now I am someone who is concerned about my teeth, so I would have wanted it replaced immediately as well, but as long as his mouth wasn't severely bleeding, he probably could have waited a day or so later to get it fixed. I was hoping Trump would fire all three of the women in the boardroom. Mahsa clearly is not anywhere near as great as she thinks, plus I think it was unfair that she sent Poppy, Tyana, and Liza to get supplies, then tried to blame them for not doing enough work. I haven't felt great about Tyana since she was a big part of the decision to give away the last several ice cream bars the women had (though they did win). And putting Mahsa with the big dogs when she wasn't comfortable with the dogs last task wasn't so great. I also knew she's be in trouble for saying the viral video was bad, but not having a solution. Liza made herself look like a total flake last night on top of the emotional outbursts she had the last couple of weeks. I think he could have let them all go. Of course Mahsa is still there for the ratings, and I think Liza may be as well (though she got lucky the women won the ice cream task).
I was hoping Trump would fire all three of the women in the boardroom.
Amen. It was painful to watch as they are all incompetent. That out of the way, Trump made the wrong call. Obviously he needed Mahsa around for her rude and disingenuous commentary, but she lost. The idea that someone who was against the idea that lost should be fired because they didn't replace said idea, is ridiculous. The buck stops with the PM, unless you are on a reality show.
I knew Trump would have an issue with Tyana not having another idea, though. I think I've seen someone get called out for it in a past season. I wish Tyana would have made a bigger deal about Mahsa purposefully sending out Tyana, Liza, and Poppy to shop so she could blame them for not contributing enough. Tyana realized that is what Mahsa was doing. But I guess Liza sort of threw a cramp in that by agreeing that Tyana was the weakest person on the task. Also, Tyana could have tried to put more blame on Mahsa, telling them that Mahsa didn't want to hear anything she had to say. Because clearly Mahsa is a domineering person who doesn't want to take directions from others.
Mahsa def should have gone.... I don't understand how the whole team jumped on board with her though.... How did no one else on that team think Mahsa should have gone????
Mahsa def should have gone.... I don't understand how the whole team jumped on board with her though.... How did no one else on that team think Mahsa should have gone????
There was no question that Mahsa should have been fired. These type of episodes are what make the show quite tedious at times as you know who Trump should fire and you also know that if they are high in the drama department an excuse will be made to fire someone else. What is the logic to firing Tyana? She didn't have another idea. That doesn't hold water. If you own a Seafood Shack in Boston and everyone tells you that your chowder is horrible, do you fire the Head Chef or do you fire a random prep cook because they didn't offer up that maybe you should be serving New England Clam Chowder over Manhattan Clam chowder? Is the overall concept really the responsibility of the prep cooks? In Trump's world, I guess the answer is yes.
I really liked Tyana! Agreed about Mahsa, but Trump will keep her around just like he will David. The two of them are terribleeeeeee
Did anyone see that David is dating Poppy now? She must be crazy! So much for him wanting to win to get his family back!
What? Ew! Where did that news come from?
She's been saying it in interviews.... she's even ok with his baggage, i.e., FIVE kids!
What is wrong with her?
I have NO idea! Maybe she just wants more press? I have to say I had to go looking for her to realize who she was at first...
I know that she's the blonde that is not assertive (that's Stephanie). She is also the blonde that is not the nice and mannered one that Trump likes to call on in the boardroom (that's Brandi). I might not be able to tell the difference between Poppy and Brandi by just looking at them, but I know them by name. I haven't even figured out who everyone is on the men's team, except for David (obviously), Gene, Clint, and Wade (because of his comment when James got fired). I think I recognize Steuart, too, but there is a guy or two that I don't know.

I feel like especially with the girls team, there's a few I'm not real sure of because they kind of stay in the backround... But the guys too have some ppl I'm not sure of...
I get people mixed up too still. This helps: http://www.nbc.com/the-apprentice/candidates/
I just turned on tonight's episode, so I'm about 30 minutes behind but had to comment... As a project manager, putting David in a front of the house speaking on stage position is absolute suicide.
