I enjoyed watching Russel, but only the first time. I absolutely HATED him during the first half of Samoa, but about halfway I really started liking him and it was really great television having blindside after blindside. I never wanted him to win though, so I took pleasure in watching him lose. I like seeing people who are totally cocky, lose. What can I say?
When I heard he was doing HvV I was somewhat excited, but I was always a bigger Rob fan, so right away I was against him and once again took pleasure in watching him lose. I just think they are over doing it with Russell. I'd personally rather not see him again.
I completely agree with everything in this post!! :D
I've never rooted for Russel, he's never been my favorite, but the second half of Samoa was only entertaining because of him. In HvV, however, he was more of a joke than anything.
Any word on whether or not the Russell vs. Rob season is happening?

According to missy, Rob and Russell flew into Miami and stayed overnight last night (like the cast of season 21 did) and flew to Nicaragua today.
A guy who appears to be a small plane pilot in Houston wrote on Russell's wall last night at around 10pm saying: "Hey, it was cool meeting you today! If you ever want to learn to fly, let me know!"
Perhaps CBS hired a small plane rather than having Russell travel through major airlines to keep things on the downlow.

The only people that like Russell are the casual fans who don't understand how the game of Survivor works.
"Boo! The jury was bitter!" Well guess what? The jury was bitter because Russell had a ****ty social game! He talked down to all of them so why should they vote for him? He called Rupert a dumb *** for crying out loud!
Get ready for a rant.
Because, everyone hated him and he STILL made the Finals. TWICE. If I was on the jury, I would have voted for him. He is obviously a good player, because he made the Finals twice when everyone hated him. The point is: Russel was in the Finals, and all of the people on the Jury were not. If he was THAT good, he deserves to win.
End rant ;)
Yeah but what everyone forgets is that it is a social game as well. You can stab people in the back all day and make it to the finals but if you arent nice to people and dont even pretend to be their friends then they wont vote for you in the end, and that is apart of the game as well. Its like in American Idol, the final 2 can obviously sing well, at that point its a matter of who won you over, and its not always the best singer that wins. I agree that Russell is a good player when it comes to strategic gameplay, he is great at finding ways to secure himself, I think he is decent at challenges, but he is a terrible social gameplayer. This to me does not represent "the best survivor player ever."

The only reason he made it to the end on Heroes VS Villains is because he's the perfect goat. Everyone hated him. That's why he got no votes. If he was an amazing player you make him out to be, wouldn't he have won both times? or at least once?
Oh, wait. No he didn't get any votes because he's the MOST AMAZING PLAYER EVA!! ZOMG. :no3:

(Contains spoilers)
Someone's getting fired after that one. Is this where we start betting that somehow Russell made it to the end again and lost?
The theory is that there doing a new twist called "redemption island" where voted out contestants compete 1 on 1 and that eventually one will come back. Another gimmick to keep Rob and Russell in the game longer.
This will be similar to the Island of the Dead on Survivor Israel --
Someone is voted out, goes to redemption island. Next person is voted out and goes to redemption island. Then they have a "Duel" as it is called on the call sheet. Winner stays on redemption island, loser is done. Next person voted off Duels against the reigning champ. Then at the last few people left, the final duel winner comes back in the game.
They had the final 5 tribal council on day 35, and a duel scheduled for day 36. It looks like at the time they had TC on day 35, there were 5 Murlonia members left, and 4 jurors. Hence we might be looking at a final 2 with 7 jurors. Unless the person on RI doesn't come into play, in which case, maybe a final 3 with 7 jurors.

Hmmm, I really like the idea of that. I wish they would just go back to where there is only two people in the final tribal council because from what I remember they used to show more questions that way. With three people I feel as if we don't get to see enough of their answers to the jury.
Thanks Russel, for killing one of my favorite shows for me...
See, I feel just the opposite. Not because of the show itself (as it is pretty much the same every year) but because of the forum response. When Russell is on the show, people around here lose their f***** minds and I get to antagonize while kicking back with a smug grin plastered across my face.
Couldn't be happier about the troll returning! :wink2:

He certainly causes me to lose my ******* mind! I can't stand watching him on my tv! I'd reather see Rupert and Ozzy back than Rob and Russel. That's saying something because I hate Ozzy and Rupert...
I like Rob, but I can't deal with anymore of this same ****. I hope and pray those 2 are the first to go! But, we all know the producers would never let that happen.
According to missy, the following are S22 cast members:
Carrie Prejean, Miss California 2009, noteable for her response to Perez Hilton's question regarding gay marriage
Ashley Underwood, Miss Maine 2009
Krista Klumpp, Auburn University Cheerleader

You have got to be ******* kidding me.
This has to be the most ridiculous idea for a season I've ever heard. Rob coming back for a FOURTH time? And bringing back Russell at all is just disgusting. Although after HvV, I knew they'd find a way to bring him back.
If it's true that they get immunity til the merge, that's just ridiculous.
Are they definitely doing this redemption island thing? I mean, it makes perfect sense. Give Russel immunity til the merge. Then when he doesn't win an individual immunity geared toward him, send him to redemption island where the competition of "Who's shortest?" takes place. While they usually alternate competitions on redemption island, once Russel is sent there, the "Who's shortest?" competition will remain til the end, after which Russel will be released back into the game.
If we find out Russel or Rob make the finals, I just can't watch this season.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that both of them are voted out, Russell first, Rob a couple TCs later.

That would be awesome if it's true. The only thing that would make this season tolerable would be neither making the finals, with Russel being ousted before Rob. Of course Russel will still probably win America's vote. Joy.

This was from a false spoiler on survivorsucks. The rumor about Russell being voted out stemmed from someone saying the family visit calls were going out with 8 people getting called, 7 people flying to nicaragua, and the final 6 recieved the family visit. The poster said that Melanie Hantz did not recieve a family visit call.
Missy also said that he believes that the initial rumor about Rob and Russell having premerge immunity is not true and was led to believe this by something that happened early in the game. Missy seems partial to S21 though and seems to want to avoid taking the spotlight off of that, so I don't know how much more information we will get.
Ashley Underwood should be a late gamer. Per her tweets:

Filming ended September 23, so given the timeline and that she was still recovering and had to go to the ER a couple days after arriving home, she's definitely around at the merge and probably the last couple days.
Missy also stated that Ashley, Carrie and Krista have something in common during the game. Maybe all make the merge?
Another psuedo "celebrity" has been confirmed by missyae....Kimbo Slice, who has been a rumored contestant for various previous seasons. He's a mixed martial artist. Someone stated they were rooting for him. Missy told them they "better root fast," in other words, he's an early boot.
So far we have 6 down and 14 to go...
Men: Rob Mariano, Russell Hantz, Kimbo Slice
Women: Ashley Underwood, Carrie Prejean, Krista Klumpp
Missy has also cited "Kimbo vs. Rob" as a "Survivor Hall of Fame moment for sure"
Missy hears this all turned out "GREAT." Given missy's clear source for seasons 19 and 20, it could be an unfortunate hint at how a certain someone does in 22...
According to SU, neither Rob or Russell make it to the finals.
He states Russell was not idoled, and he states that Russell "can only stay in the game these days as long as he is protected" and then remarked on the immunity til merge.
Seems to fit Blackwhale's spoiler that was given during filming that Russell was voted out on September 5 - day 21 - probably right after the merge.
