I tried to watch that scene again and it's hard to tell exactly what happened; all I had to go on was the reaction of people watching. That Push Me Duel against Brad was one of the worst atrocities in the history of the Challenge. Absolute BS to hand a competitor a victory when he was demolished in a matter of seconds. CT smoked him, which is why I have an issue with Brad til this day. He shook the pipe instead of pushing it hoping to cause CT to DQ. I don't think as a competitor CT ever got over that one, otherwise he would have on G3 taken Eric out and his team would have won G3.
As for how CT stacks against the rest ....... I have to say after recent events, I would place Landon as the best all around competitor on these challenges with CT being a close second. He has endurance that exceeds everyone, his strength is good enough to compete with CT which then would become a question of endurance, and he is unnerved in eliminations (minus that crap debacle in Duel 2 again where Brad was looking for an easy out, and apparantly got it although he was out performed). With that said, I don't think anyone could eliminate CT quick. He would be a very tough out.
However depending on the elimination round, I think CT is beatable in some; i.e.
Pole Wrestle - Landon would have an edge here with a wrestling background over CT, I also think CT vs Alton would be a good match.
Ascender - Alton would be the odds on favorite because of his climbing ability, but CT is like a chester cat. He would not be easy to beat
Push Me - I would place CT as the favorite, but someone with strength close to his like Landon, could perhaps wear him down over time.
Ram it Home - CT would have an edge over the field here, but someone with more endurance and strength close to his, could beat him
Again, it depends on the type of event, but all around I would have to give Landon a slight edge over CT. As for Mark Long, Evan, and others ........ they are no match for CT in just about anything. In Pole Wrestle CT would smoke Evan. Period.
So Brad is a poor competitor because he is quick-thinking with his back against a wall? I think that makes him a better competitor... he could beat anyone at anything in a head-to-head situation like that because he's wily.
I wouldn't say that Brad is a better competitor, but he is smart about the way he thinks. the push me wasn't a smart strategy, it was the only thing he could do. why would he stop pushing the pole after CT made a fool of him? he wouldn't do that because it would have made him look like a weak competitor AND a quitter. The Duel 2 back off elimination, however, was smart as hell. I knew that Brad was going to win due to spoilers but it was clear to me that Landon was about to win. Then all of a sudden, BAM, Brad pulls that crazy move that I personally would have never thought of. and concerning the push me duel, CT clearly rips the flag out of the ground. That elimination was literally impossible to win without what Svetlana did to Kina. With another person pushing on the other side of the pole, regardless about how strong you are, it would be very difficult to pull that flag out clean. It ripped so easily. I remember reading somewhere that the producers changed the rules at the last second to allow Svetlana the win. I don't know if that's true, but CT should have won that but he ripped the flag, or crushed it, so he lost.
For clarification, I didn't mean to imply that Brad was a better competitor than CT.
I value "trickiness and outside the box thinking" as a trait lacking in most of the Challenge competitors, and Brad is clearly a better competitor than he would otherwise be because he has it.
If anything, shaking the pole was a smart strategy. It was the only thing left he could do, and after Svetlana's "win" over Beth, they both should have known the rules and been uber-careful about unclipping the flag. But I do think that the rule for that Duel was BS. It was tailor-made for the stronger player to lose.
I don't think CT would lose to Landon in something like Pole Wrestle. Part of what makes somebody a good "real" wrestler is their ability to control their opponent's body with their hands and their sprawl defense, and you really can't use those things in that game because you're grabbing onto a pole while on your knees. Strength & size come into play a bit, but it's mostly about who is more tenacious, and CT's tenacity would be too much for Landon to overcome in addition to a 40 pound or so weight advantage for CT as well. I'd give Landon the edge in some other elimination games like Back Off or Beach Brawl though because he'd be able to use those amateur wrestling elements to his advantage in those games. I've never heard Alton, Evan, or Darrell's names mentioned from CT in the regard that he's talked about Landon as far as being a competitor... Landon is the only person I've ever heard him mention as far as people that he thought were capable of beating him.
They also didn't change the rules for the Beth/Svetlana Duel at the last minute after it was over... it was clearly stated in the rules before they even did the Duel that tearing the flag off the ground would result in a disqualification.
Speaking of Push Me, I have a question about that Duel. Say you are in Brad's situation where your opponent just smokes you out of the gate and gets to the flag. Could you, if you were quick enough to do so without giving your opponent a window to get the flag unclipped, move to the other side of the pole and push against your opponent's momentum? Or did they have to stay on the same side of the pole the entire time?
[strike]i don't think someone could have done that in push me. it would have been really bizarre if someone did though. for instance if brad did it to CT then CT would have just been standing at the flag trying to unclip it until brad hits him in the back with the pole. i don't think it would be allowed. the point of the game was to push against your opponent, not in the same direction. i know this is kinda random but come to think of it, push me was like that log pushing challenge in fresh meat 2. i think they should have done it like that with no flag.[/strike]

I was actually surprised CT picked push me against Brad. I know he completely destroyed Brad but I thought he was going to pick Pole Wrestle. He would have thrown Brad around like a poodle. And all this talk about Landon being as strong as CT is making me laugh. Landon is a great competitor and tied for first with CT, in my eyes, but that is because of his endurance. That is Landon's strength. CT's is sheer strength, size and height. That is when they are against each other. They are both very athletic and seem to be good at everything but I mean what they have over each other. I agree with Townie. When it comes to regular missions and elimination rounds I would give it to CT but the odds are against CT for that happen. If the mission is a running mission like in Duel 2, climbing like the one on I2 or a running/biking final, Landon would take it. Landon just has to hope CT won't be able to call him out into a Duel or Inferno or whatever and CT just has to hope he can.

CT can be a loose-cannon though. That gets him in trouble. Landon is prim and proper.

True, but what does that have to do with him as a competitor?
True, but what does that have to do with him as a competitor?
You can't compete if you punch someone in the face. He is a great competitor when he doesn't get kicked off for fighting.

What I meant was, him being a loose cannon doesn't mean that he's a bad competitor. Sure fighting hinders his chances at winning but it isn't like he isn't a good climber or runner, etc. because he gets angry at people quickly.

Agreed. The thing that actually makes him a better competitor is that he has attitude and a crazy side. Some guys can be big, tall, fast, ect. but they also need some craziness and attitude to take it a few levels higher and he has that. But he does need to stop getting kicked off for fighting. I mean the Inferno 3 was his for the taking with the ******** but instead Derrick won with the ******** instead of CT because of the punch he threw. It really don't mean much from a competitor side of things but it's also making his total challenge win/loss record look bad. If he comes back and doesn't fight anyone he will probably win his first challenge, but he needs to try and stay out of drama and fights. If he does those things he will get the challenge win barring another train wreck of a final challenge because of a weak link like Eric or Casey or somebody like that on his team.

Not at all, but he is a poor competitor for shaking and then letting go of the pole while someone is unhooking the carabiner. Once CT got to the flag, Brad was supposed to push him away, not shake the pole and letting go hoping for a DQ. He even says he did that intentionally hoping for a DQ.
Follow that with what he did against Landon on Duel 2 it is hard for me to give him credit.

You're absolutely wrong. There's absolutely nothign wrong with what he did. It was a last resort he was grasping for threads. His srength was obviously inferior to Landon's and CT's so to stay in the competition he did what he had to do and it worked.
That's not cheating and that totally makes him a good competitor because he did what he had to do to win.

It wasn't his choice..
It wasn't his choice..
Yes it was. Whoever won the paddle me challenge was safe from the Duel, and whoever finished 2nd got to choose whatever Duel they would like. Wes finished first, CT second, and Brad third. CT picked Push Me.
It wasn't his choice..
It actually was. The last challenge before the final was Paddle Me and involved a tandem surf board swim followed by an individual swim. There were 3 men and 3 women competing, 1st place of each sex got safety (Wes and Jodi) and 2nd place of each sex picked the Duel they'd face the 3rd place person in. CT picked Pole Wrestle because "Brad is a boomerang and the kid has no legs"
This was posted on CT's Facebook wall yesterday... found it interesting. Don't know why BMP would be trying to get a hold of him unless they wanted him for a challenge.

I really think bringing CT back on one last challenge will draw in a lot of viewers. And if it is true that CT is being called back for a challenge, my speculation of Challenge 20 being The Duel 3 rises even higher.

Challenge 20 has already been given a title. However, if the Challenge after Cut Throat is in fact The Duel 3, CT absolutely needs to be casted. I don't think you can do a Duel 3 without him involved, especially with guys like Mark and Darrell saying they will only come back for that format. With the fighting, it's been awhile since we saw CT absolutely dominate a Challenge, and I would love to see that again. Thanks for the info townie, you've been a great source for all things CT for several months now.
I think it's a little to early for BMP to be casting for the next Challenge. They still have to cast for RW 26.
False. The first round of calls have already gone out.

Wonder why CT is ducking their calls.
Wonder why CT is ducking their calls.
I don't thinking he's ducking their calls. He just lost his phone over the weekend per his response to this Greg person on FB. My speculation is he's probably in negotiation with BMP over when filming starts. There are hearings for his brother's murder trial in October.
If BMP is indeed negotiating with CT, they're probably not confident that The Challenges will get renewed based on the footage they got from The Cut since it would take a lot to actually bring CT back to the challenges(insurance, other castmembers, etc.)
One question I have is who is this Greg person and how did BMP know to contact him to get to CT?
Is it to early to speculate who is going to be on the Challenge after B2Vegas? Chris hasn't had much recent activity on his fb.
As far as I know, yes.
