What if she is the one who initiates the kiss?

Elena and Damon kissing? Didn't think the show would be going there so fast, I thought that they'd at least have Damon pining for Elena and then Elena eventually falling for him..

However, I can see Damon being in like a dangerous situation, then Elena coming to rescue him, but he tells her to go after Stefan and then he kisses her. (Kind of like Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth in POTC 2 a bit)

I am not surprised at all that this would be thrown in in the first season finale, as I think much of the show balances on the relationship between Elena, Stefan, Damon, and Katherine. Just the dynamics of how they all came to be what they are now, they can play off of this story line in so many different ways.

Yeah there's many ways to do this storyline. I remember the producers said they will "mess things up" in the finale so when they return for season 2, viewers will have a reason to tune in. They are going to go down many roads of storylines next season and Kevin Williamson said that they will tease some of those roads that they will go down in the season finale. Katherine won't be here this season, but I'm expecting her at the end of season 2.

Dplayer in the video we see Elena kissing Damon, are there pics of her from the promo where she is not wearing the necklace Stefan gave her? Also in an interview Nina states, “The audience is really going to hate one person in particular,” Nina told PopWrap. I am leaning towards Bonnie or Jeremy as the bad guy, it has to be someone who is not that obvious. For this reason alone I am thinking that it is Jeremy, right now we are being led to believe he wants to be turned, making us think from the promo that he will be because Anna asks him. My thought is that Uncle John shares more of the journals, or something to do with the Gilbert's past ,leading Jeremy the other direction, following his family's history, I think he is going to be the one who stakes Anna :(

All the videos show her with it too. I also saw that interview this morning. I think it's either Jeremy or Bonnie. Jeremy for the reasons that you stated, but I'm leading toward Bonnie. I can seeing Bonnie trying to kill Damon and Stefan and killing Anna. I think she's the one that sets the building on fire. Did you see in the Australian promo where JG says "Katherine?". He looks scared and worried, I wonder if that is a flashback.

Which this could very well be, same with the Damon and Elena kiss. UJ saying Katherine, could be a number of things, whoever is in that scene with him, could have asked a question, and the name Katherine was the answer. I do believe Damon, Elena, and Stefan are safe from dieing, but they never said anything about one of them going missing. I think something will happen with Stefan, so that he is not around for a bit. Giving Damon and Elena time in season 2 to build up their relationship, whatever that may be ;)

I guess I've been preparing myself for Anna dieing so I won't be that sad to see her go. We already know it won't be the big three, I read on TWOP that its not Bonnie. So I mean its not like it would be the end of the world of Matt, Caroline, Jenna, Mayor Lockwood, or anyone else died. So as long as Damon, Stefan, Elena, Bonnie, and Jeremy are safe, I don't see why its such a "big deal".

I don't want Matt to die. He's a very important character through all of the books. I'm pretty sure they wont kill him off just yet either. If Meredith is going to be introduced... Caroline could be leaving. I suppose we'll know after tonight.

I don't want Matt to die either, I really don't want anyone to die, everyone has a unique story going on... But as for the show, I see big three as the main characters with Bonnie and Jeremy being pretty important. Matt dying wouldn't be as sad of Jeremy, Elena, Bonnie, Damon, or Stefan died. They are pretty important to the show.

I don't think Matt will die. They won't kill both Donovan siblings this soon plus Kelly Donovan is coming back for season 2.
