so where would you like to see the real world be held at for the next few seasons?
For me it would be atlanta, houstin, and somewhere tropical and sunny like key west, san diego, and cancun.
How about you all?
I wanna see Real World Jamaica.
I honestly don't care where the show is set, I just want a great cast. I don't think that we have had a super great cast since Hollywood. I want a cast where everyone plays a role in the season. I'm sick of boring people that add nothing to the show.
People think DC was boring, but I say about half of it is the Real World is getting old and repetitive. Go out drink and get drunk, make out and hook up, argue and then be friends the day. Then everybody just has there own family business over the phone. That sums it up just about.
Well, you can only orchestrate a season so much. If the cast subconsciously decides not to do a serious season and makes themselves into a party season when they are not partiers, it does throw a wrench in the works.
One of the reason SF worked well is the city allowed for the cast to go either way without being constructed for it. With Vegas or Cancun, you would not see a serious season. Conversely, both of the NY seasons (not counting Brooklyn) were more tuned to seriousness than party.
how about Palm Springs?
not too sure about the night life out there though
Did you see my statement earlier about the number of reality shows in SoCal?
Did you see my statement earlier about the number of reality shows in SoCal?
Even if they did, they're still entitled to voice their opinion.
Plus, Palm Springs is not "SoCal". At least, it's not the "SoCal" where all of the television shows take place or the "SoCal" that everyone thinks of (i.e., LA and San Diego).
I'm not disagreeing about the right to voice their opinion. I was being sarcastic but it does not always translate well in written word.
I still think it needs to be outside of CA...

International Locations:
Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Amsterdam, Rome, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Auckland, Melbourne, Wellington, Manchester, Liverpool, Cape Town, Bangkok, San Juan, Dubai.
Manchester would be cool, but I guess I'm a bit biased.
Liverpool is much more likely due to the Beatles connection.
But if TRW is coming back to the UK I think they should stick with London, there is so much more to do and 2012 might work.
Where ever it goes it need to be primarily an English speaking city, thats for sure.
Did you see my statement earlier about the number of reality shows in SoCal?
Just seen it now, surely there aren't many shows filmed in palm springs
I can assure you, that while that kind of compound could exist, it would not since there is not that remote a place without being outside the 50 square miles of the metro area. Having high walls, being on the south side of a mountain, would go a long way towards it, I still don't think it would happen. Phoenix is a great flying town. Both helicopters and airplanes do flyover the city at regular intervals and it would only take one newschopper to decide to get a good look at the house before it would end that idea.
As far as a serious season, trust me Phoenix is a political hotbed right now. We not only have a corrupt County Attorney running for Attorney General. We have Sheriff Joe (and having the kids end up on his highlight reel would not necessarily help the show). Plus, there are upcoming elections on the state & national level, immigration, gun safety laws, and the stiffest DUI laws in the country. There is also a tremendous Latino and Native American population. A slowly building Chinese population and I won't even get into how many sports teams call the Phoenix area home. If it happens to film during Spring Training, then some of the cast may get to meet their fav players. (Heaven forbid the Red Sox moved to the Cactus League, Bacchus would be flying out here weekly to attend games.)
Trust me, a serious season can be done working in the government, one of the sports teams, even a transfer to ASU can be looked at. The Valley of Sun is awaiting! ... Need I talk about the half dozen casinos on reservations just outside city limits? I live within 5 miles of two of them and the one closest to south Scottsdale is less than a 10 minute drive from ASU.
Ok...let's break it down like this. What are the logical TOP options for a serious season? (probably most people would say New York, DC, and San Fran are probably the top of list. Followed by cities like Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Portland, London, Boston, Capetown, Rome, and Savannah/Charleston -- give or take a few cities).
Now this season, they have said they looking for "goths, people from non-mainstream religions, pro-abstinence only education supports, and people passionate about a cause of some kind." So which city would best support a cast of that background?
My guesses are San Fran, Portland, and the Canadian cities are probably the best fit for what they are looking for this season...especially if they found a goth and non-mainstream religious person.
It definitely doesn't have to be an English speaking city. I have traveled extensively in Europe and Asia, and been to Mexico many times, I speak English and a little bit of French, and nothing else. In major cities, people speak English everywhere. Especially in Asia. EVERYONE speaks English.
They did Real World Paris and Real World Cancun and those are not English speaking. In fact, I'd say the one place I've been where I DID need to speak the language was Paris because many people in France were not willing to speak English to us, even though they could have (long-standing feud with England and not big fans of the US there so yah)
They could easily do Beijing, Tokyo, Rome, Amsterdam, Bangkok, Dubai, Bali, Berlin, Hamburg, Montreal, Soeul, Rio de Janiero, Kuala Lumpur.... and so many others that aren't mainly English speaking. And I'd love to see any/all of those. I'd like to see them do something DIFFERENT and really learn about the world.

Hmm I wonder if we could see a Scientologist on there. Now THAT would be interesting.... though highly unlikely.

Never. He wouldn't even risk trying to appease that type of ideology with the series.
Never. He wouldn't even risk trying to appease that type of ideology with the series.
I think it's too controversial. You're either getting a very powerful enemy if you portray it in a bad light, or losing credibility and being accused of drinking the kool aid if you portray it in a good light. It's impossible to be objective. I just think it would be interesting. Though not going to happen.
Definitely agree with that statement about Nick. He seems like SUCH a nice guy and everyone from all seasons seems to really like him. But he's just not interesting.
Never. He wouldn't even risk trying to appease that type of ideology with the series.
Bacchus, where do you think RW25 is going to be located?
Nick Brown was great for the situation that he was brought in for to be a replacement, he also to me was able to an extent bring the cast together after 2 people left all and all he did a good job at least to me considering.
I think the best season in my opinion is the Real World Back to New York. It had so much diversity and really talked about real world issues, concerning race and other issues. Plus it was one of the seasons that in my opinion wasnt seen as a hot cast with hot people like Las Vegas or many other seasons. This Season brought us seven different strangers Coral,Kevin,Nicole,Rachel,Mike,Lori and Malik that brought us good reality.
B2NY was my favorite season.
Really? That was one of my least favorites. It was terrible compared to New Orleans, Hawaii, and Seattle.

I was to young to watch b2ny but upon reading about it, I had to ask the question of How in the **** do you do a season in New York city pre-9/11 era without including an lgbt person in it. I know Coral came out as lesbian a couple years back but this was looooong before she prob. even suspected it. We had no idea. I also heard Kevin was originally casted as a questioning cast member or bi or something like that. I heard during the show he would often hook up with guys from gay bars but the editing never showed it. It would make sense considering how he turned down LORI (***). I bet that if its true nowadays he lives a gay life somewhere and probably wants nothing to do with MTV. ????? can someone clear this up for me?
& My bets going off what someone said above me is....PORTLAND OR
RE: Salts post about Hollywood being a great cast.
I'll rephrase this, cause it did come off a little rude. The ORIGINAL 7 castmembers were great. While Nick and Brittini are great people, they did nothing for the show. I actually think Nick is one of the nicest BMP alumni and is too good for reality tv in general. I just don't find him interesting on the challenges. He should stick to hosting/modeling. That being said, I have nothing against him, I just don't think he sticks out at all.

well maybe since New Orleans had Danny, Haiwii had Ruthie and Seattle had Stephen, maybe they could'nt find someone who was interesting for that environment of New York City.

I agree totally with this. You have to be a little off kilter to be good on reality tv, and I don't think Nick is, I think he's a straight up nice guy. Too good to be there really.

Your right on that part, but it was a cultural diverse season and people learn lessons on race from Coral and Malik. It sucked that they didn't have a reunion like the other seasons.why didnt they have one ?
No, he is from Georgia and owns several bars if I recall...
Why the **** have I always thought he was Australian?
This is just weird
