THANK YOU!!! I'm so glad you found it. I really wish that some of these people were still around on the shows. I really liked Heather B!!! And Cara from Chicago.

I'll pass on Cara from Chicago. Kerry though? Yes, please. Though it's been so long since their season (almost 10 years!) and neither one has shown up on a Challenge as of yet, so I don't see it happening now.
Plus most of the people that watch these shows now probably have no idea who they are....:crap:
I dont think that matters. Look at Jo. She hadn't been on the show for 10 years either, nor was she even a popular cast member. Shawn from RR8 also was on BOTS 2 and he hadn't been on the show for about 7 years.

Yeah, well, nowadays it seems they'd rather re-cast and find "fresh" people before they actually look up long ago "true vets" from actual seasons past. Go figure.
I would love to see them go back and get some of the older cast members they've never used, or that haven't been on a challenge in years. But I think most of them would have moved on with their lives and not be interested.

Exactly. Us older folks (read: me, 28), need to realize that most of our favorites aren't coming back. Ever. It's a new generation. :sadwalk:
Which is why I'm pretty much hanging up my hat on FM:2.

Awww. But there's always a chance for another Gauntlet. It would be our last hope. :(
I guess at this point I've (grudgingly) given up on my old faves coming back but I'm still (probably stupidly) optimistic that I will start to like some of the new people, or that the Fresh Meat will impress, or at least that JEK will be removed from power soon. I'll keep watching.

I'm not holding my breath. This ****'s way too far gone...

Really? I hung up my hat a LONG time ago. It surprises me that people still have such high hopes for older castmembers returning for challenges. It doesn't make any sense, a lot of the older folks have their own lives now.
The challenge nowadays are for the newer generation, they don't care about Puck from San Francisco or Anne from Northern Trail.. The challenge has CHANGED, for GOOD. The formats completely flipped.
Challenges Then: An annual event/gathering of former REAL WORLDERS and ROAD RULERS competing against each other.
Challenges now: Kenny, Evan, Johnny and friends competing against each other for money and making drama.

Let me re-phrase. I pretty much "hung up my hat" on the Challenges a LONG time ago. I have been watching them very passively, just enough to be able to come here and comment on the big stuff. I'm not naive enough to think people I actually want to see will end up on these things ever again. But with this new Fresh Meat Challenge, I don't think I'll muster up the energy to even bother watching.
If anything, I held out hope for the Real World, but now that they are doing another re-run season (New Orleans), I'm just done. I don't plan on watching that one either. The spark is long gone. The last current season that I've actually enjoyed was Brooklyn, and before that San Diego. That's how far between "good" seasons are for me...
Nothing is new. Everyone is too affected, and it's just not "real" anymore. It can't be, so what's the point?
I dont think older cast are approached. I feel that the challenges rely on hook ups and drama now rather than the fun competition. Didn't Glen and Beth A. say they would both be interested but never asked? Kendal also wants to do one. I don't understand why BMP wants to recycle over and over again. Just because people like Glen and Beth A. are older and havent been around for years doesn't mean they arent capable of drama- case and point again, Jo.
I think everything needs to go back to half hour once a year in new places nor return to anywhere.Challange fire TJ Latvin I find him rude and not needed. With new FM retire JEK and co so Paula, and everyone who still returns from FM1.I hve accepted that Katie,Darrel,Derrick, and Derek(Occasion Rachel and Jillian) are the only returning RR,but challanges have 5 seasons worth of rookies from RW 19-24,FM2 and one season of RR sorta so its not like it's hard.

Cause BMP know that they would be elimanited early on in the competition.Unless hey to events with the "inner cirle"
The only problem with the cast now days (other then re-casting the same people) is that a lot of people on this show don't have respect for each other. Very few people have just gained respect from everyone (Abram) or had to fight for respect (Derrick on G2) and those are just 2 examples. JEK, though I defend them a lot, don't show respect or kindness to anyone. Wes is all about his way or no way and that shows no respect for his team or other people, and we all saw how he treated Casey. All the cast members just think they deserve something and are better then others. They need to remember, they are all random nobodies competing and making fools of themselves for some cash, and that goes for even my favorites.
TJ Lavin is not the problem with the show. You're not going to fire him and all of a sudden make it interesting. He's barely even on it. I was rewatching some old seasons and honestly what they need to do is cut the episodes down to 30 minutes. This way we can have many more storylines for each cast member, and storylines that unfold over multiple episodes. I connected a lot more with the characters even in Sydney than I have in any of the recent seasons.
There does seem to be a sense of entitlement amongst the newer set of competitors over the older ones. There was also a level of respect for the most part amongst the older competitors which does not appear in the newer ones. Just look at how, for the most part, people were respected on BOTS. There were a couple of highlighted exceptions like David to Puck, Emily to Veronica, and even Puck to Ellen. But for the most part, respect existed much more than in the newer shows.
Cutting it down to 30 minutes, with the exception of a Premiere and Final Mission episode, will also extend the length of time the series lasts in weeks.
I think new blood as host, a new system or reusing the Battle format, and asking some of the older cast members even those that have yet to appear will do wonders for the show.
I miss the old seasons when one team was in the winnie, other on the nice bus, fighting back and forth over the stuffed animal. I think it was Dan & Kendall almost hooking up? They cast was fun and young and didn't need all the drinking we have now. I wish the show would go back to points deciding who was up for elimination instead of cliques choosing.

I agree with this. All I can is them being eliminated early.
Okay I've been reading the lasts few pages and I want to say some things.
I've accepted that most of the older castmembers have moved on to better things and I wish that MTV will replay Older Real World/Road Rules challenges.
Whoever said that the castmembers now have a sense of entitlement and a lack of respect for each other is spot on. Everyone is just mean to each other and think that they are the ONLY ones who deserve to win (JEK is a good example of this) and this is one reason I can't stand not only the Stale Meat but some of the acutal alumni aswell.
I too think that if they make some changes to the challenges it would be better.
And am I the only one that acutally LIKES the one-hour format?

I am a fan of the one hour format. With half hour episodes the season drags on and on and on...
Inferno III was a struggle for me (running 4 months) and while I liked some of the cast members from Sydney, there were really only two memorable episodes in a season that lasted 5 months!
Why are people thinking the 30 minute format is on forever. Its not in reality. with the 1 hour format the crap is predictable. I mean after 10-11 episodes of the challenge, the real world is on and so on and on.
Why are people thinking the 30 minute format is on forever. Its not in reality.
Actually, it is... (At least in my personal opinion.)
The last 30 minute Real World (running 23 minutes) had 24 episodes and a reunion show. It went from August until mid January the next year!
It was so long and drawn out I probably skipped 10 episodes in the middle!
I like short seasons. Love it or hate it, you are on to something new every 3 months. Can you imagine if The Island Lasted from Fall until Spring! Yikes.
If this season was strung out until mid July, I'd [strike]probably[/strike] definitely give up on the show, for good. At least now I know that we are nearing the end and I'll stick it out.
Not to mention that with only 23 minutes to tell a story, every single episode is to be continued, followed by a trailer that makes you really want to find out what happens, until you actually see the next week that nothing happens...
Trailer: "TYRIE TO BE ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AFTER BEATING THE **** OUT OF A GIRL!"
Next Episode: "Ok, not really, he was peeing in public..."
Reminds me of the first Parisa and Trisha fight when they were fighting over that guy and she said her infamous "why don't you like someone who likes you" line. That was "to be continued" then by the following week nothing happened so I think you're onto something.
But for real though, I'm not gonna lie, I rather the show length be in months than in weeks, or whatever.
I really liked whn they did thirty minute episodes one after another. I know it sounds exactly like what we have now but it was different because the format was different.
Does anyone know whatever happened to Kaia, Amaya, Matt, Colin from RW Hawaii. Cast from Miami? Elka, Montana from RW Boston? The rocker chick from Back To NYC ( I forget her name)
Kaia was getting her masters or doctorate last i heard. She kind of explained what her life was like at the awards bash. Colin lives in France according to Ruthie. I dont know what Amaya has been up to.
