I'd say MTV is doing a **** of a lot better considering all of Vh1's shows aren't even reaching the million point anymore. Doesn't matter whats boring or whats not boring, its what brings in the numbers. To be honest, I'm quited shocked that TA, CR, and CFB aren't getting over a million, even though I've been dunzo with vh1 for awhile I know they aren't bad shows.

I guess when ILM went ratings went with it. MTV is doing okay they average maybe 2-3 million views. And with the return of ABDC it will do good. Or atleast I'm watching! :D
Bring back surreal life, now that was a kick *** show..with the right cast.
Bring back surreal life, now that was a kick *** show..with the right cast.
The Surreal Life kicked *** (especially season 2 with Trishelle), but Fame Games was the **** the came out the ***. That one was terrible! I gave up after three episodes.
I liked The Surreal Life too but that is another 51 Minds show and Vh1 doesnt want anything to do with them anymore. Obviously this move is killing their network.

I find it hard to believe piece of **** shows like My Life as Liz and The Buried Life could even break a million. I guess people watch that stupid ABDC show so they probably barely get over a million. I want to see some numbers for MTV shows. Before the recent Vh1 failure everyone was talking about how bad things at MTV were before Jersey Shore saved the network. I've also heard that the numbers for RWDC are an all time low, so things aren't so hot for MTV either.

I didn't know that show was so popular.

Even with their current programming. I know everyone in my school talks about 16 and Pregnant and The Buried Life. I think it's the fact that MTV kind of has similar programming all the time and has built a loyal fan base. After the whole MWAM situation, I know a lot of people who stopped watching VH1. And if you compare VH1 ratings to back then and to now, you'll see a difference.

I miss old RW Austin and Denver. ABDC season 1. And Mtv will probably blow up 16 and pregnant and Jersey Shore where it won't be watchable anymore. Just like Vh1 did with "Of Love" shows. But yeah I like CFC7 but its not as good as I thought. Celebrity Rehab 3 is the same but a little sadder. Don't get me started on the rest of the shows. Besides Tool Academy 3 now that show kicks ***! lol But I miss old MTV and old VH1 where we had Pumpkin vs. New York. Or we had Beth Vs. Tina. Ahhhhh the good old days. :/ Seems like Reality Tv in General is getting worse. :(

Really surprised those STUPID shows are breaking a million but barely. Liz & Buried Life are two of the biggest pieces of **** I've ever seen & ABDC is probably one of the most irritating shows ever. Wow at 16 & Pregnant, didn't realize it was so popular & a huge wow to how poor RW:DC is doing. Good for 16 & Pregnant though I really lime that show.

Serves them right I am sure a lot of people will start getting fired soon over at Vh1.

MTV is doing really well. I guess they'd better take advantage of 16 and Pregnant/Jersey Shore pulling such high numbers. They should definitely start promoting new shows during both of their time slots.
Compared to VH1 MTVs ratings are great, but I don't think MTV's ratings are all the great compared to what they've been in the past. VH1 on the other hand is just dying. They are going to have to switch up their format soon if they're not going to welcome 51 Minds back. However, I don't even think that losing 51 Minds is what caused VH1's ratings to drop (although it did make their already low ratings lower). Shows like Daisy of Love, Charm School 3 and RCoL2 just weren't geting high ratings. We noticed the ratings droping before 51 Minds was gone.

And Real Chance 2 got 2 million ratings for the finale and premiere. But yeah still not what Vh1 got with Flavor of Love 2. I say MTV is switching it into a new direction. And in 3 more seasons when RW is on its 26th season. It will probably be the last real world. And then they will still be doing good with shows like 16 & Pregnant. And My Life as Liz isn't that good. But Buried Life is awesome. And I see ABDC going on to about the 10th season atleast.

Other shows like DOL, CS, RCOL and FTLORJ were always above 2 million in viewers and in some cases over 3 million (some episodes would drop below 2 million but on average they got 2 million). Now, zero Vh1 shows are getting OVER a million. Vh1 is trying to go in a new direction (away from 51 Minds) and every show is a bomb. Not one single new show has matched a 51 Minds show in ratings, not even FTLORJ2's boring season. While ratings were dropping for 51 Minds as well recently they still were doing A LOT better than shows like Fantasia's, Pep's, Aspen, Celebrity Fat Club & TA.

Tool Academy 1 had 1.1 million for its premiere. Tool Academy 2 got 1.7. So Tool Academy is still okay only entertaining show left on Vh1.
I Love Money would have kept VH1 up because that show average 2 million+ for both seasons I believe and they had 2 more seasons on the way. Although back to the discussion that 51 Minds never did bad, Megan Wants a Millionaire actually had bad ratings for the couple episodes it aired.

Hmm time will tell lol

I still think the channel wouldve been very hot. Just think about it. MWAM wouldve finished airing, even if the ratings had remained low I think it wouldve eventually done ok, a lot better than the current Vh1 shows that's for sure. We probably wouldve had I Love Money 3 air sometime in the winter I'm guessing sometime in October of '09 and wouldve bought in decent ratings. Well over 2 million, which is double the amount of the current highest rated Vh1 show. Then around January or so we wouldve had I Love Money 4 airing at the same time as FTLORJ2 and Frank's show. We all know FTLORJ2 did well in the ratings and I think ILM4 wouldve done better.
I really dont see how CS3 got good ratings when it started sucking after episode 3.
Maybe viewers thought it would get better.
CS3 ratings weren't great but if it were airing now it would easily be Vh1's highest rated show: Charm School with Ricki Lake (5/2009-7/2009) Premiere: 2.3 million viewers Episode 2: 1.9 million viewers Episode 3: 1.3 million viewers Episode 4: 1.5 million viewers Episode 5: 1.1 million viewers Clip Show: 1.1 million viewers Finale: 2.1 million viewers Even MWAM's ratings were better than Vh1's current highest rated show which is Fantasia For Real with 890,000 viewers. Megan Wants a Millionaire (8/2009-8/2009) Premiere: 1.5 million viewers Episode 2: 1.2 million viewers Episode 3: .989 million viewers

They still suck...if that was their only highest rated show they would still be in trouble...
They still suck...if that was their only highest rated show they would still be in trouble...
I never said they wouldnt be in trouble did I? Just making a point that some of 51 Minds worst shows still outdo the shows Vh1 is trying to cram down our throats now. Vh1 needs 51 Minds plain and simple, but since they are being idiots about it and not wanting anything to do with them I am glad Vh1 is dying.

They just need a new production company that's similar to 51 Minds, but includes background checks, not personal vouchers.

And no one is cramming anything down anyones throats, its called change the channel.

Vh1 seems to be trying similiar production companies but as evident by the ratings it doesnt seem to be working. I just wish they would let 51 Minds come back with ROL: Bus 2 and ILNY3 and let them conduct background checks. I think those two shows could solve all of Vh1's problems.
Why are you always so negative? And no one is cramming anything down anyones throats, its called change the channel.
Negativity feeds off of other's negativity. And for the most part I am changing the channel. The only show I watch on Vh1 is Tool Academy. But being a Vh1 fan I keep up with the ratings.
