Women's downhill was good though. Lots of falls, some epic, but some really great runs too. The half-pipe and 1000m speed skating is today too and those should both be worth checking out.
I'll watch it...but I'm going to do it on the internet from some shady foreign site just to make sure I don't contribute to NBC's ratings.
In defending NBC's decision to tape-delay certain marquee Olympic events, such as yesterday's men's downhill, Chris McCloskey, the network's vice president of sports communications, referenced the Miracle on Ice, the United States' storied win over the USSR hockey team in 1980.
Great thinking NBC! Let's use an event 30 years ago and pretend we all still have 3 channels and there is no internet...
Twitter / NBCOlympics: For the first time in Olym ... Thanks NBC for sharing. Nice of you to give the results but not actually show the event.
****it...I'm watching curling and I am on the edge of my seat....going to an extra end.
Dammit...I'm watching curling and I am on the edge of my seat....going to an extra end.
No way! Not an extra end!!
Shaun White is in a league of his own. Absolutely incredible. Another Gold, another Bronze. Good stuff.
Another Gold, another Bronze. Good stuff.
I totally thought that was just qualifying so I wasn't paying much attention to it. Oops.
No way! Not an extra end!!
Boo....we suck at curling, lol.
I know I made all my threats against NBC, but I am a pansy when it comes to these type of threats and want to watch the women's alpine downhill. When are they going to show it!? Gee...get on with it. I love short track skating, but I want the main event and then I'll watch the other stuff too....
Ok...it is on...cool.

You know...I've been hearing daily complaints about the Alpine course, but when it comes down to it - they are all skiing the same course. The Eskimos have over a thousand words for snow. This is not like nascar where you lay down a hyper specific type of concrete or asphalt and that is standard across every track. Snow is snow and you get what you get. Deal. On that note, I'd definitely kill myself on that course. I'd miss the first turn and my body would be found either against a tree or in a giant snowball at the bottom of the mountain. :D
Ouch! Major wipe. Is she ok?
On that note, I'd definitely kill myself on that course. I'd miss the first turn and my body would be found either against a tree or in a giant snowball at the bottom of the mountain. :D
Yeah, but I bet that'd be fun as **** to tube down. :D It takes them like 2 minutes to get down, it'd take me like 5 hours. At least the girl that just fell still made it down to the bottom...right?
She looks ok. Wow. She was fine until that bump after she was body surfing and then bang.
****, there goes another one.
I think like 8 women DNF. That's almost 1/5 of the competitors.
This is it!
The suspense is killing me! I wonder who wins!
****...this is better than Nascar!
So close...and then BAM! These falls look sooooooooo painful. And she broke a ski!! It takes a LOT to break a ski.
So close...and then BAM! These falls look sooooooooo painful. And she broke a ski!! It takes a LOT to break a ski.
They said she flew 190 feet. That is insane. And yes, skis are hard to break, especially because the binding will release at their tolerance and should spare your ankle and the ski.
Ok...so this was spoiled hours ago, but I am really glad I watched. That is not to say I'm not ****** at NBC for ruining it for me. I plan to take it out on all their pilots next fall...(by skipping them...)
The end of this opening paragraph bothers me. Julia Mancuso - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Should her article be tainted by that? Or are those just the facts of life... I think it would make more sense further down and not in the title paragraph.
Whoa, speed skating relays are weird.

I felt really bad for the French? skiier that didn't even make it around the first turn. Four years training and you hit a bad edge and it's all over in 2 seconds. Go Scott Lago! He's the cousin of my friend so we are hoping for at least a two American podium finish, assuming Shaun White is a lock. Though I do love Louie Vito too, he's like a little oompa loompa and totally adorable. So maybe we cans weep half pipe? ;)
Man a lot of the halfpipe snowboarders are tiny! Louie Vito and Kakubo are both 5'4, this other Japanese guy is 5'5, Shaun White's only like 5'8. Has anyone seen the athlete photos on Vancouver's website? They look like mugshots. Heh.
Ya...you need to be small to move like that.
He didn't do his "secret" move, but that was INSANE air. Edit: He, as in the God of air. ;)
Holy **** Shaun White is ******* ridiculous.
