Cup staking is when people stack plastic cups in pyramid formation and then de stack in a period of time. For your answer I really don't think so that is ridiculous. True also to that comment about curling except most people I know completely discredit it and rule it not a sport. It's on all the time on the sports channel and I never watch it. It though is a pretty good game to do with some friends minus the cold. Also China should do well for curling, they were really good at the games 2 years ago.
Oh, you mean cup STACKING. I guess I could see curling be a fun game to play with your friends...although I'd much rather play table shuffleboard.
Women's hockey games go by SO slowly compared to the men's games. Then again so do most women's sports. I'd rather watch curling than women's basketball.
Oh, the irony... Lindsey Jacobellis disqualified at Olympic Games
She had looked destined for gold today through qualifying and the quarterfinal round. But in the semifinals, she lost her balance early on the Cypress Mountain run, fell off the pace and inexplicably quit. She had plenty of time to catch up and only needed to make the top two in order to qualify for the finals. Instead, Jacobellis is eliminated, along with the other two Americans in the event. She came back minutes later to win the consolation final without being pushed, but it doesn't mean any kind of medal.
She's never going to live Torino down. Ever. The media won't let her.

She QUIT? ***? Lame...
Then again so do most women's sports. I'd rather watch curling than women's basketball.
Oh ya, women's basketball is torturous. Still, I'll definitively tune in if the USA Women's Hockey get to a medal round.
Still, I'll definitively tune in if the USA Women's Hockey get to a medal round.
They could have 10 skaters and still make it to a medal round. With the exception of Canada and Sweden, these teams are not good. I'm watching the game now...but it feels as though it's been on for a few hours. The men's game earlier today flew by.
She QUIT? ***? Lame...
Well, maybe it wasn't so inexplicable.
Lindsey Jacobellis’ shot at redemption will have to wait another four years. Her campaign to rid herself of the famous 2006 blunder came to an abrupt end in the semifinal of the women’s snowboardcross Tuesday when she lost an edge after coming down from a jump, tried to correct her line, and ended up riding through a gate. The spin-out effectively put her out of the race. Jacobellis had a strong start. She was riding neck and neck with Canada’s Maelle Ricker on the top quarter of the course when things went awry. Technically, she could have tried to backtrack around the gate, but that effort would have been futile. Maelle Ricker went on to win the heat, with France's Deborah Anthonioz finishing second. The loss was heartbreaking for Jacobellis. Her 2006 blunder is one of the most famous in Olympic history. She was hoping to bury her mistake here in Vancouver. Now she'll be haunted for another four years. Jacobellis' misfortune was an opportunity for Ricker, who went on to win the final on her home soil by defeating Anthonioz and Olivia Nobs of Switzerland.
[via] Sucks too, she had the 2nd fastest time in qualifying behind the woman who won the bronze and less than a tenth of a second faster than the woman who won gold.
I'm gonna count how many times they mention Jacobellis' miscue in 06 or anything about redemption. Snowboardcross has been on for about 2 minutes and they've already mentioned it 3 times.

Bodi Miller ***Torino 2006 FAIL!!!!!!!** other stuff....
Same thing with Bodi Miller. They can not even mention his name without saying something about Torino. Bodi Miller ***Torino 2006 FAIL!!!!!!!** other stuff....
Yeah, but they're calling Jacobellis' one of the worst Olympic blunders ever. EVER. I love how they wasted my time with an hour of men's figure skating and decided to show the one sport I wanted to watch starting at 8:55. Thanks, NBC! I'll have to catch Lost at another time. :(
Ohhh...that sucked. She went right through the gate after over correcting. So she didn't inexplicably quit. "No chance to silence the critics and fans alike. Lindsey Jacobellis: no chance for gold."
Wow...that snowboardcross final wasn't even close. Boring.
...and now there is more figure skating.
...and now there is more figure skating.
Only on NBC. CNBC has curling :D EDIT: No wait! It's women's hockey! Meh, I think Michigan bball is playing somewhere...
Lysacek just NAILED his routine.
Same thing with Bodi Miller. They can not even mention his name without saying something about Torino. Bodi Miller ***Torino 2006 FAIL!!!!!!!** other stuff....
Gosh Bacchus, its BodE Miller! It was really sad watching Jacob-Ellis go through the gate. She was obviously trying to avoid hitting Maelle because if she did make contact she would have been DQ'd anyways. Then by trying to correct her line she went out of bounds. :( They really did mention Torino waaaay too many times, here in Canada the CTV announcers called it an "epic failure" and I thought that was a little harsh since she did end up with a freakin' silver medal! Vancouver was going crazy with the Canada hockey game tonight! OOOO so my friends dad carried the torch right? Well they got to buy it if they wanted to keep it so I am going to have a photo shoot later with an Olympic torch!! It's gonna be amazing. One bad thing though is that they put a horrible chain link fence around the big torch so you can't get very close and it obstructs the view. :( Another sad thing is that Whistler is closed down except for those who have tickets because there are too many people, so I can't even go up there to stalk Bode. Hopefully it will open up again later this week.

I think it's really interesting watching a straight male figure skater (Evan Lysacek) vs a gay male figure skater (75% of the field). You can tell just from their movements and the way they carry themselves. Tots, you should be on the lookout for his girlfriend!! Get an autograph, and send it my way :D
If no one else cares about watching the events on tape delay, then why not show them live on CNBC during the day and then on tape delay AGAIN at night? By NBC's logic, if you don't watch the CNBC broadcast during the day, the event hasn't happened. So what are they hurting? I'm sorry. This is the Olympics, for goodness' sake. They can't show the Men's Downhill live at 1:30PM on a holiday but they have time for primetime POLAR BEAR documentaries? Give me a break.

Ya tatertots, gee, get it right!
Gosh, I stink too. ;) I totally agree with that rant too Bacchus. That is pretty much what they are doing in Canada. They show as much as they can live then they have highlights and repeats (and the NBC broadcast!) later in the night. Makes so much more sense!
Who is his girlfriend? And I'm not buying that he is straight. My gaydar goes crazy whenever he comes on screen.
Nastia Liukin. You know, that girl that won a medal or two in Beijing. Who gives you crazier gaydar? Evan Lysacek or Johnny Weir? :D
Nastia Liukin. You know, that girl that won a medal or two in Beijing. Who gives you crazier gaydar? Evan Lysacek or Johnny Weir? :D
Also, Evan dated Tanith Belbin before her (she is a top ice dancer who will be competing in a couple of days) and Jenny Kirk (a former top U.S. singles skater and former junior world champion). Has anyone seen Be Good Johnny Weir on The Sundance Channel? Or Johnny's "Poker Face" exhibition program? The answer to your question would be super easy. I recommend seeing both Johnny's show and his Poker Face routine. Very entertaining. Poker Face: YouTube - Johnny Weir - Poker Face I'm bummed about Jacobellis. Oh well. At least she did get a medal in 2006.
Nastia Liukin. You know, that girl that won a medal or two in Beijing. Who gives you crazier gaydar? Evan Lysacek or Johnny Weir? :D
Well Johnny is openly gay and fab so no gaydar needed but Evan had freaking feather hands last night! C'mon! ;) I'll be on the look out for her!
Well Johnny is openly gay and fab so no gaydar needed but Evan had freaking feather hands last night! C'mon! ;) I'll be on the look out for her!
Actually, Johnny has not publicly acknowledged he is gay, from what I've heard. He is just his super flamboyant self, but has played coy when asked about it. A couple of gays in figure skating have criticized him. Some of his fans actually have had heated debates on whether he is or not. Thanks for looking out for Nastia. Yes, the fashion in men's figure skating (and ice dancing) is something else. If you don't have much interest in skating, you could watch it during the Olympics just to laugh/snark at the fashion. Hated Evan's gloves, but the worst offense to me last night was Kevin Van Der Perren's glittery skeleton costume. Horrible! He's never had great taste, though. And even the straight guys in skating have fallen to prey to very bad fashion. Ilia Kulik - the 1998 Olympic Champion - had a hideous giraffe shirt. I'm very upset that Brian Joubert and Jeremy Abbott (the Clay Aiken look-a-like) bombed their short programs. I'm kind of disappointed about Tomas Verner as well - he is horribly inconsistent, but I thought he was going to rock his short program, at least. Pleased with Evan's skate. Johnny did well, too, so I was happy. Annoyed with Chan's mistakes. I am very happy with Daisuke Takahashi. I hope he wins gold. If he doesn't, I'd be happy with Evan. I want at least one U.S. guy up there, if not two. Used to love Plushenko, and still love his jumping, but I am disappointed that jumping is all he's doing. Oh, and I'm very pleased with the pairs podium. It's a shame the other competitors didn't do a good job. I just found out there is a black French pairs team and I missed them. I have to look up footage of them. I actually think the men in pairs skating are less emasculated than the men's single skaters.
Also, Evan dated Tanith Belbin before her (she is a top ice dancer who will be competing in a couple of days) and Jenny Kirk (a former top U.S. singles skater and former junior world champion).
Yeah, a lot of people are saying that he doesn't know he's gay yet.
I can't wait for the Women's downhill tonight! Oh, never mind. I typed in Women's downhill into google to see when it was supposed to air and the results were the first entry. :( Sorry NBC. I'm going to watch Human Target on Fox instead.

The half-pipe and 1000m speed skating is today too and those should both be worth checking out.
