I was referring to the team challenges, but yes, The Island was also one sided.
Oh, well I guess it doesn't hurt to point out that The Island just sucked in general. :D
They should do a Real World: Toronto or Vancouver... Probably not Vancouver because they're doing FM2 there. Toronto is one of the only major cities in North America the series hasn't covered.
I'm wondering, if MTV does cancel the Challenge, but keeps RW alive..will that bring the audition number down? Because there have to be some people who audition for RW who do it just to get on challenges.
The Real World isn't what it used to be. They use to have some really smart, intelegent, and well educated people on the show. The Hawaii season's cast members came from some of the top universities in the states. Now majority of the cast members are the average run-of-the-mill rejects. Real World Sydney was the last good season. Btw... Cancun was a great season too. I don't see what separates this show from all the other reality shows. Hollywood, Brooklyn (How could they make New York seem so wack?) and DC sucked! The RW needs to go back to 30 minutes instead of an hour. I feel the hour show could be summed up in 30 minutes. And they should def go back to the 7 cast members. I feel that having an eight members cast makes for a less intimate atmosphere between the cast its-self and the audiences watching.
I wanted to be on the RW since I was 8 and 18, but right now (I'm 19) I don't think this show is as prestige as it use to be; there is nothing that separates this show from all the other reality shows. I want to be on the Jersey Shore! : ) Even though I am not Italian or White : ).
I think I am going to try out for the show. I'm going to send in a tape.
At least we know the challenges will still probably have the next couple of years, because I don't think they would of did another FM if they were considering canceling them soon.

Wow you are one of the first people I have seen to be a fan of Sydney and Cancun. I personally loved Brooklyn and am vastly enjoying DC!
The only seasons I really didn't watch were Sydney and Cancun. I think if DC keeps doing the same stuff, its going to end up being boring. I think New Orleans should be interesting especially since all the stuff with the hurricanes happened. I would think it would have a diff vibe to it.
I actually really liked Sydney all the seasons leading up to Hollywood were good IMO then i think Hollywood and Cancun were pretty downhill.
I thought Hollywood was a wonderful season, but everyone has their own opinions. You're right about Cancun though!
I agree with most people that it seems to be that the Challenges are done in trilogies. I guess a Duel 3 will come eventually, but I doubt that would show up until 2011 because of the way MTV spaces the Real World and Challenges.
I didn't mind the Island all that much, but I feel that it could be really cool with some tweaks to it. I saw some people saying it would be fun with teams.
The other thing that I've wanted to happen but I doubt it will because of how long it's been since one of them is Battle of the Sexes 3 or Battle of the Seasons 2. I doubt they will happen but it'd be fun in my opinion.
I don't know what they'll do next in terms of Challenges.
In terms of the Real World, I like the idea of going somewhere out of the USA again. I personally think the Real World: Athens would be fun. If it went to Asia I'd agree on Tokyo. Africa seems like they could do a lot -- like wherever they placed the cast the housemates would work with a charity-like organization and help the impoverished population. I think Rio de Janeiro or Brasilia would be fun for South America. Anywhere else I would say Auckland, but I don't think they'll return to Oceania for a little bit since Sydney was done not too long ago.

Rio will NEVER happen. It's way too dangerous. I think with the exception of Australia, they're going to stick to the northern hemisphere.
I think the reason Battle of the Seasons won't come back around is because it's way too cut and dry. With the big board and the scores for each person it's way too easy and way too drama free to eliminate people. That's why MTV has probably gotten rid of that. In Battle of the Sexes 2 it was way too easy to know who the best and worst performer was also. Unfortunately I don't know if we will be seeing those. I would really like an Island 2 if they had some more challenges kind of like in a survivor type of way. I would also really like to see a huge season with a brand new game or maybe a Duel 3 with all winners.
Real World: Melbourne!
Haha I know it won't come back to Australia/Oceania for awhile but that would be awesome since I could scope it out ;-)
I would LOVE to see a return to Battle of the Seasons or Battle of the Sexes, although I understand that they go for the more dramatic elimination styles now.
It would be cool to see a new style, although I guess we just had that with the Ruins so maybe they'll go back to something like the Island again? (yes, it sucked, I hope if they ever go back to that they completely re-work the format).

But even with the socre board of Battle of the Seasons/Sexes there was still drama among the cast and honestly it's not that hard to tell who is weak and strong on the challenges now anyways.
Yeah but therer's much more drama with an elimination round and with controversial eliminations. I think BMP probably wanted a bit more drama and probably thought the whoel elimination process then was all Lovey Dovey.

Well if you look at most of the recent challenges they really hasn't been that much drama (well good entertaining drama anyways).
Yeah which is why I also think they're trying to set up new iwth the Fresh Meat 2. There has been quit e a few though like the Nehemiah Evan elimination in the Duel 2. Ibis being voted in the Ruins. Wes going in time and time again in the Ruins. Not like it used to be but still it would e way diferent with the board. I like the concept of a board. But I can see why BMP doesn't.
It would be a massive risk for them to have a season where the eliminations are straighforward like Battle of the Seasons/Sexes 1. BUT, I just have a feeling that one season of that would be enough to shift the balance of power away from Evan/Kenny/JohnnyD0uchb@g , which would be ideal. Those three need the drama and controversy in order to keep their flock in line.

First half of the ruins was all drama over eliminations with Wes
I am watching the RW DC and I am like **** this show it is so boring. RW is terrible. Cancun was the ****. Ayiiia acting like a psycho the first 2 episodes.... What has happen on DC that is interesting... Nothing. I don't think BM or Mtv does enough to promote the RW shows. You never see the cast members on Jay Leno or any talk shows or even a commercial on another network besides mtv. The only time you hear about a new season is on mtv 3 weeks before it starts. The Jersey shore has it right. Snookie, the situation, and Pauly D have been guest on J Leno and many talk shows.
As for the challenges I am so tired of seeing Johnny, Evan and Kenny. If a show doesn't evolve it is doomed to be canceled, especially if it has mediocre ratings.
The show was much better when it was 30 minutes, all that extra garbage they add to an episode to stretch it to an hour is pointless and makes for boring television.
Sydney, Hawaii, Austine, and Cancun were the best seasons.
My list for ok seasons are Denver, Chicago, and Las Vegas, and Back to New York.
My fave cast members are Parisa, Trisha, Issac, Kaia, Teck, Ruthie, Malinda, Wes, Ayiiia and Jonna. Oh, oh and cant for get Coral!
When have the RW/RR/FM kids ever done anything special? I don't recall them being on talk shows or anything like that, even during the earlier seasons.
None of the casts have ever been on any talk shows with two exceptions: Miz was interviewed on at least one talk show. Mark Long has worked for Donny & Marie's talk show before getting his own morning show for a while.
Heaven forbid if Puck ever got his own morning or talk show.
