Trent Green would have been the starter had the injury not happened. He did in fact though play well for the team still. The team that went from 4-12 to the super Bowl though was much improved and I felt that he was given way to much credit in their success. I always wonder what Green would have done as the starter had he been given the chance, I only can think success as he was amazing with the chiefs.
Also Warner was awful with the Giants, to the point of having to go to the Cardinals afterwards. I personally think that he has played great there but so to would have Josh McCown as was evident as the first year was split between the 2 of them. Lots of quarterbacks could do well in Arizona with 3 thousand yard recievers. He is borderline to me.
I don't know what to expect in this year's Super Bowl, Colts vs. Saints. It's gonna be great. It will be a bigger disappointment for the Saints to lose because this is their first time and it won't mean anything if they don't win. Colts have the experience to win it and are good at coming from behind.
Really how are the Bills going to make the Super Bowl? I first like to see who drafts who from the NFL Draft and what key free agents are picked up before making a statement like that.
I'm just talking. they're my favorite team. Ever heard of wishful thinking? Although I do think with a new quarterback we could be a potentially playoff calibur team. Chan Gailey seems to know what he's doing offensively, he brought the cowboys and Georgia Tech into bowls and playoffs.
Chan Gailey to me was an okay hire but didn't he in the pre-season get fired from being the offensive co-ordinator job of the kansas City Chiefs? Also from the names I heard wanting the job in Buffalo (Brian Billick and marty Schottenheimer) I was kind of dissapointed. I hope that Buffalo gets a quarterback. Here is to you guys picking up Donovan Mcnabb.
No he got his play calling rights revoked because they got an offensive coordinator as a head coach. Schottenheimer would not be a good higher. We won't get mcnabb. We'll get Clausen Lefevre or maybe hopefully Michael Vick although that's a bit of a stretch. We'll get somebody in the draft though most likely. Chan Gailey though is bringing hope and change to buffalo. We may run a 3-4 next year which is new and exciting. And he has no special offense he builds his offense around the specific players he has on the team which I think if used effetively can be an excellent strategy.
Yessir it is, the city literally exploded with fireworks and screams of joy. This was built up for about 45 years and it finally has come and it feel oh so glorious. It was a mad house and the city turned into one HUGE party...trust me I'm still feeling after effects from last night...it's like if Mardi Gras came early this year.
Heres a little clip I found of just a snippet on Bourbon St. right after we won, enjoy:

Wooooooow. Well that's interesting. Good for them! It's nice for that city to have something to be excited about.
Almost makes me feel bad for rooting for the Colts...:sofa:
Another fact is the Colts have never played a Super outside of Miami and were is the Super Bowl this year that is right Miami. It makes you think maybe they shouldn't go to Miami so often. Also I like how the pro bowl will be a week before the Super Bowl so anyone in the Super Bowl can't play in the game.

Ok i will give you that he was terrible when he played for the giants. But Josh McCown sucks and they would not have been anywhere near as good with him as the quaterback. In his best year in the nfl he threw 11 td and 10 picks, not that impressive. And if every one could do well with the Arizona recievers then why the **** didnt Matt Leinart? He was a "big time" college qb but had little to no success with the cardinals.
Warner has the second highest passing average per game in nfl history. Has the 3 highest passing games in the superbowl. The highest career completion % in the playoffs. I could go on but i wont :)
Warner is definitely HOF material and not just for his contributions on the field. The guy has those intangibles off the field as well. He is big on doing things for the community and helping with charities. That concern for the community as well as his on field contributions to the sport including all of his record passing will get him in the HOF on the 1st year he can get in.
As for greatest QB of all time, do not overlook Terry Bradshaw who took the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Superbowl 4 out of 5 years in a row and won it every time. He's better than Montana in my opinion.

So...are you saying that a decently good player can get in if they do extra in the community? I wasn't aware that they look at intangibles such as off-field endeavors.
For example...Doug Flutie should be eligible after this season I believe. Do you think he should be a first-time HOFer since he's done so much work with autism?
A few days late but Congratulations to the Colts and the Saints! I was very pleased with Mark Sanchez and his performance as the season progressed. I NEVER thought the Jets would make it to the playoffs this season and I see a bright future ahead for this organization. They can hold their heads high, they played the Colts tough for a half and ended up losing to the best QB in the NFL right now.
I am rooting for a Saints win, I am pulling for Drew Brees and the city of New Orleans and I also think Sean Payton is a great coach.
As far as HOF players go, no question that Kurt Warner deserves to go in on the first ballot for what he has done with 2 teams. He's also a class act and I have much respect for him.
Doug Flutie will eventually get in but not on the first ballot. There are a lot of athletes in the NFL who do a lot of work with charities but I'm not sure that is taken into account with the NFL Hall of Fame.

Ok, now I have to jump in as there is no way Flutie deserves to be in the HOF.
Maybe if there was a special Hall for washed up, backup quarterbacks but that is about it (he averaged 7 games a season during his tenure in the NFL, with .9 TD's and 160 Passing yards /per game.) Those are not Hall of Fame numbers.
And what he did in college or the CFL should have no bearing on the vote. An undersized quarterback playing against other washed up college players (i.e. NFL rejects in the CFL) does not make a player great, no matter how well he did...
Hey, I'm from New England and love the Flutie legacy as much as the next guy, but you can't dilute the Hall using social advocacy as a factor.
I personally think Jim Kelly, Steve Young, and John Elway are the three best of all time.
My personal top5 would be Peyton Manning(i dont like him but he is a **** good qb), Troy Aikman(won 3 superbowls, i know he played on good teams but i like him), Brett Favre(has almost every important qb record and he is one of the toughest guys ever),Tom Brady(3 superbowl wins, i am biast because he went to michigan), Kurt Warner(owns alot of postseason records, and revived 2 ****** teams)
I didnt see guys like bradshaw or montana play so thats why they didnt make my list.
Kurt Warner in no way is a better quarterback than Jim Kelly. He is the best leader, led us to five super bowls and owns multiple records. He's done many humanitarian things and is a first ballot hall of famer.
By the way does anybody else agree when I say Steve Tasker shoudl be an automatic in to the hall of fame? He's openly known as the best special teams player ever to play the game. He's been ont he ballot since he's been able to but was never able to make it.
I think the Indianapolis Pacers are going to beat the New Orleans Hornets, it should go all ten rounds though. Peyton Manny or Manley or whatever is just too good , he'll throw for 365... make that 754 yds. and 8 goals and 0 passes to the other team, he's the best. Didn't he win the Golden Player of the Year award? I just wish Brent Favors and the Minnesota Twins would've made it though.

If you could please refresh my memory, how many super bowl wins did Kelly lead the bills too?
haha funny. But you cannot deny his stats his work off the field and all of that.
What does work off the field have anything to do with it? They are being inducted for their football stats. Anything else is just icing on the cake. As far as I know, philanthropic doings have nothing to do with consideration.
An all around bad guy will not make it into the hall of fame. It definately doesn't hurt. But stats don't lie, even though he's never won a super bowl he is among the ranks of the all time best quarterbacks. It also doesn't hurt that he's on my favorite team.
Terrell Owens never did anything awful did he. I'm talking Michael Vick immediately lost his bid once the dog fights came out. Even though he wasn't a hall of famer to begin with. But had O.J.'s stuff came out before he got into the hall of fame he would not be allowed in.
