Most disturbing movies
I thought I'd start this thread for movies that arent just disturbing because of gore and blood but because of subject matter. Happiness (actually an excellent movie, one of my favorites) Welcome to the Dollhouse Gummo You and Me and Everyone we know All pretty good ovies with the exception of Gummo. I thought I'd start this thread for the weirder indie movies people don't know too much about.

Yeah the director actually directed Happiness. That was an excellent film. And the movie Palindromes also by the same director has a little shoutout to Welcome to the Dollhouse in it. These are all must sees except maybe gummo if you like tha tkind of money.
Actually they're revamping the gremlims franchise, its not disturbing but its gonna be cute to see Gizmo and those other little critters pop out of the screen. Perez Hilton: Coming Soon? Gremlins 3D!
Mysterious Skin. I wish I could unwatch it.
Delicatessen Or any film where cannibalism is the primary story telling device. ;) YouTube - Delicatessen Trailer
Mysterious Skin, L.I.E. and Requiem for a dream are all very disturbing although Requiem for a Dream is one of my favorites of all time.

Yeah Requiem was pretty bizarre, though I did like it.
Another pretty weird disturbing movie is Eraserhead.
Happiness is soooo ****ed up! Saw Delicatessen and agree too! Requiem, love that movie. Meet the Feebles!
O meet the feebles was insanely messed up. Salo was the worst movie and most disturbing I've ever seen. Shortbus too.

Wow, I've never heard of most of these but you guys are giving me some interesting new movies to check out!
Yeah I really actually didn't like Shortbus. I watched it last night. Salo I would not watch ever. Me and You and Everyone we know was great actually and is on Roger Ebert's top films of the decade list.

Never seen "The Final" but the Battle Royale movie was really good but the book is way better. Awesome book, you should check it out.
The final actually looks good. Red Room is relaly relaly disturbing but a great asian horror flick.
Never seen "The Final" but the Battle Royale movie was really good but the book is way better. Awesome book, you should check it out.
It available at Borders but thatsabout 25 miles from where im living so I have to order it. Glad another fan of BR is here.
The Final looks interesting, I want to see it...looks like a good revenge film lol.
Cabin Fever and The Last House on the Left (the original) were both pretty disturbing!
Antichrist with Willem Dafoe is a completely sick, disgusting and very odd movie. Antichrist (2009) - Synopsis
I think Dead Silence was kind of disturbing.
Dead Silence is one movie I've yet to rewatch. Its just that disturbing.
2 movies that I just thought that were really disturbing were: High Tension (which is a foreign Horror movie and brought to the US in 05') and the Uninvited.
I loved High (Haute) Tension but I can never rewatch it. The Uninvited I heard is actually from Korea or something and called A Tale of Two Sisters. I also read once that they changed the ending in the american remake and sent everyone reeling.
A Tale of Two Sisters wasn't disturbing at all. I never saw The Uninvited though.
The Title is really called Haute Tension, but High Tension in US. It was freaky... it had that whole creepy vibe. The Unvivted just really scared me, I get more scared when people are emotionally damaged, than slasher flicks!

High Tension. Wasnt that the one where they killed the child? Yeah. I left the theater. That movie was awful.
Nope. High Tension is the one where
the schizophrenic was killing everybody. Although Marie's brother died when he got shot early on.
Yeah. They kill a child in the movie. It was uncalled for.
Cabin Fever and The Last House on the Left (the original) were both pretty disturbing!
Cabin Fever bothered me too!!! Oh - and I agree about Battle Royale - but the book is WORLD'S better. You get way more into the characterization of each of the children as opposed to a rushed 2 hour film.
This movie is supposed to be the most disturbing movie ever. It's NR... I don't even think I will see it! It's called the Human Centipede YouTube - The Human Centipede - Official Trailer
