Especially since blindsides are the cool thing to do now, they make the show great and suspenseful.
Why do they keep referring to Cirie as "the one who got off the couch" ? I never saw her original season..
Why do they keep referring to Cirie as "the one who got off the couch" ? I never saw her original season..
On her original season she referred to herself as a "couch potato"...on Fans vs Favorites she said the same thing in her pre-game interview.
Here's what I can best discern as being part of the "list of 50" Women: 1. Colleen Haskell - Borneo 2. Jenna Lewis - Borneo/All Stars 3. Tina Wesson - Australia/All Stars 4. Jerri Manthey - Australia/All Stars 5. Neleh Dennis - Marquesas 6. Jenna Morasca - Amazon/All Stars 7. Sandra Diaz Twine - Pearl Islands 8. Twila Tanner - Vanuatu 9. Stephenie Lagrossa - Palau/Guatemala 10. Danielle DiLorenzo - Panama 11. Courtney Marit - Panama 12. Cirie Fields - Panama/Micronesia 13. Candice Woodcock - Cook Islands 14. Parvati Shallow - Cook Islands/Micronesia 15. Amanda Kimmel - China/Micronesia 16. Courtney Yates - China 17. Natalie Bolton - Micronesia 18. Sugar Kiper - Gabon 19. Corinne Kaplan - Gabon 20. Crystal Cox - Gabon 21. Sierra Reed - Tocantins 22. Shambo Waters - Samoa 23-25. ??? Men: 1. Richard Hatch - Borneo/All Stars 2. Gervase Peterson - Borneo 3. Colby Donaldson - Australia/All Stars 4. I don't see Colleen being part of the 50, if she was willing to do it and they passed on her I would be outraged, not really but I would think it would be ludacris no to cast her if she was willing. I still think Gervase should have been cast.
I like how your list had big tom on it. He was very good on both of his seasons. I was disapointed that they excluded Rafe, from this upcoming season as he was my favorite his season and really the only one I remembered (besides the 2 all stars). Bob also was a great character, I'm still impressed at how he played/ won survivor. Gervase was awesome and would have been great but would he have been a hero or a villan?

I guess, that would make sense with him being a screenwriter for television in the past.
Rafe, was annoying, boring, and forgettable.

I think the list of 50 was more a wish list than a list of people who went to interviews.
Russell, Rupert, Jerri, Sugar and Coach attending the PCA Wednesday night for the HvV promo: Jerri looks awesome.
A tie die vest? For real?
Per this article, Amber Mariano and Rudy Boesch were both invited to HVV, two people I omitted from the above list.

Jeff Probst they could get any Castaway they wanted to partcipate, thats a load of bs or there was a huge casting fail. EDIT: After reading the rest of the article it goes on to name about 5 Survivors who declined lol.

I didn't know that Ace declined because he was getting married!!
I think it was the Canadian article but I think he was talking about HvV cause he talked about Shane being short-listed.
I think it was the Canadian article but I think he was talking about HvV cause he talked about Shane being short-listed.
Right. The way I understood is what that they got everyone they wanted on. Therefore, all 20 of the castmates that were on HvV were on the short list (of 50 or so) to begin with. That doesn't necessarily mean that those 20 were their original first 20 choices, but were probably second or even third.

There's also a video with Sue Hawk where she states she would have done HVV if she was asked. So basically, a legend like Sue was willing and available to be part of the show, and Lynne Spillman and Erika Shay decided that Danielle DiLorenzo would be their best bet. I still cannot get over how little sense that makes.
Maybe they didn't want Sue after she totally freaked out and left very early last time she was on an all star season. In my opinion she blew her chances of getting back on an all star season for awhile.
I'm sure they had to pay Sue a pretty good chunk of change not to sue them so I don't blame them for not asking her back.
It doesn't matter. About 54 million people watched Sue Hawk's epic snake and rat speech. Only 17 million watched Danielle's season, and she did nothing to make those 17 million people remember her. Ratings should be the bottom line, but CBS for some reason lets Spillman and Shay's BFF club be the bottom line.
According to a link in Andy Dehnart's blog, Penner was the last guy out. Also in the blog: Ozzy declined to focus on an acting career; Colby took the same Texas flag from his original Outback season (which I guess means they get luxury items again?); Ben from Samoa was still being an *****; Burnett thought that Rudy was too old for HvV (at 81? Nah...); and contestants danced! YouTube - Survivor 10th Anniversary Party, CBS Looks like Joe and Candice getting a little bit close!...but I also saw Dave Ball, Paloma, maybe Alexis?, Penner, and someone's kid dancing like an idiot.
I gotta say I think it's really cool that they are doing a Heroes Vs Villans thing on the next Season. Being that I just started watching this show last season I'm still new to it so it'll be good for me to see castmembers from the past.
If my dreams came true, these 2 would be the final 2 of this season. And then be on every All Star season thereafter together. The dynamism of their relationship is epic and as a longterm fan of this show, they are the main thing I am looking forward to.
They would make an awesome secret alliance.
I'm having some issues embedding the videos on their individual threads, but CBS has videos from each person talking about their most memorable moments. Amanda: finding the idol and blindsiding Alexis Candice: the challenge where they had to hang on to the poles and the lamb shank feast Cirie: catching the fish for Shane's birthday Coach: the "heroic" trip to Exile on day 36 Colby: starry, clear nights Courtney: winning the balancing immunity challenge Danielle: beating Cirie in the fire challenge to get to the final 3 James: finding the immunity idol Jerri: the storm that hit during All-Stars JT: day 39 breakfast with Stephen Parvati: chocolate cake and bath at the Survivor Auction Randy: water lacrosse challenge Rob: asking Amber to marry him Rupert: playing in nature Russell: getting rid of Kelly Sandra: dumping Rupert's fish after they voted him out Steph: firemaking challenge against Bobby Jon Sugar: dancing with the African tribe Tom: the location and the adventure Tyson: his "funnier" confessionals
Every week my newspaper does a TV Guide type deal, and Survivor took the cover this week. The article that accompanies it is from the Associated Press. It's actually kind of funny. It refers to Rob as cutthroat, Courtney as bratty, Randy as cantankerous, Tyson as sarcastic, Coach as pompous, Russell as the bad boy, Jerri as the mean girl, and Sandra as the sassy mother of two. It then refers to Rupert as the "lovable mentor", Sugar as the "emotional pinup model", and Colby as the "Texas hunk". The rest are then simply referred to by their occupations. Danielle was the only villain that wasn't mentioned for more than 2 words. They talked more about Richard Hatch. Sandra said she wasn't worried about trying to outwit, outplay, and outlast anyone except Parvati. Colby said Jerri is like a bad fungus. Rob said his biggest handicap is not being familiar with players like Coach. Coach said he won't trust anyone. Tom says he thinks he's got a target on his back.
