She graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School, where she played varsity lacrosse, field hockey and swimming. After graduating, she attended Temple University in Philadelphia before transferring to Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey. She played Division One Lacrosse at both universities and was a four-year starter. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with concentrations in marketing and management. LaGrossa enjoys yoga, Pilates, water sports and going to the beach. She describes herself as relentless, persuasive, extremely competitive, dramatic and friendly. She is most proud of being offered athletic and academic scholarships to two different universities and purchasing her own home when she was 23 years old. An avid lacrosse player in college, LaGrossa won many awards signifying her outstanding athleticism and leadership. At Monmouth University, she was the team captain her senior year, made the NEC Academic Honor Roll and the Dean's List. In addition, LaGrossa was a three-time NEC All-Conference selection, NEC Scholar/Athlete Award recipient and Female Athlete of the Year Nominee. We last saw LaGrossa on Survivor: Guatamala where she came back as an All-Star to help out the Yaxhá tribe. She then went on to the final three, but only got one Jury vote and did not win. We also saw Stephanie on Survivor: Palau where she was the only member on her tribe come merge time, and ended up being the 3rd member of the Jury. Will Stephanie be able to make it to the finals once again? Or will the All-Stars see her as a threat due to her gameplay in the past?
Surprised she got the nod to come back. She was boring on her last season. What happened to her buddy Bobby John?
How was she boring? She was totally the dictator of the Guatemala season. She was arguably the first person that the editors totally revolved the show around, a tactic later employed with Coach & Russell.
Stephenie was anything but boring on Guatemala. However I feel like having her on the season backfired because I know after watching her on that season I wasn't as big of a fan. She annoyed me a lot whereas during Palau I really liked her.
Eesh. Not her best pic.
I love Stephenie. I can't BELIEVE she lost in Guatemala. How did that even happen? What a terrible turn of events. I've been down on the three-peats, but if Stephenie was in every season, I wouldn't care at all.
From cbs.com: Tribe: Heroes Hometown: Briarcliff, Glenolden, Pa. Current Residence: Philadelphia, Pa. Personal Claim To Fame: “Being a three-time NEC (North East Conference) All-Conference selection, NEC Scholar/Athlete Award recipient and Female Athlete of the Year Nominee in lacrosse at Monmouth University.” Inspiration in Life: “My Mother has always been an inspiration in life. She is my best friend and I tell her everything! I wouldn’t be where I am today without my mother’s unconditional love and support.” Previous Finishes: Palau; 10th out, 3rd Jury Member; Guatemala: Runner-Up Favorite Past Moment: “Outlasting my entire tribe and being the sole Ulong member left standing.” Previous Survivor She Respects Most: Jenn Lyon (Palau) Previous Survivor She Respects Least: “Any female who plays the game for the wrong reasons.” Why Did She Come Back? : “I came back for the love of the game and because I'm such a serious competitor!
I love Stephanie. She reminds me of Heather from Nightmare on Elm Street.
I find it interesting that both her and Tom mentioned Jenn Lyon as their most respected Survivor. I wonder why that is...
I find it interesting that both her and Tom mentioned Jenn Lyon as their most respected Survivor. I wonder why that is...
It probably has to do with her work raising awareness for breast cancer awareness - Here's an article from 2005 where she publicly talked about her battle with Stage III breast cancer and the treatments she underwent. I couldn't find any updates on a quick Google search, but her website includes a thank you to the fans and links to several breast cancer awareness related organizations. I think it's great that both Tom and Stephenie both mentioned Jenn in their website blurbs, still standing by their former castmate.

Thank you for the reminder.
That's right! I completely forgot. Thank you for the reminder.
No problem :) I'd bet we don't hear much about Jenn Lyon because she isn't one of Survivor's power players (despite making it to the Final 4 on Survivor Palau), unlike Ethan Zohn, who's battle with Hodgkin's Disease has been followed pretty closely by the media.

I liked Jenn a lot, but most respected? Really? **edit** whoops...just saw the post about the breast cancer. She really is a survivor then.
Stephanie is overrated to me, she obviously isn't that strong and doesn't have to much of a personality.
Interesting that she's engaged... I know she got married a few years back and then divorced not too long after. I'm excited to see her again!
