Not 100% sure but there was always somebody in the final mission who shouldn't have been there. Or there was somebody better than them that should have been in the final mission instead. Also, somebody that the team didn't want there in the final mission.
Examples:
BOTS1 - Emily/Veronica instead of Lori.
Gauntlet 1 - Theo instead of Coral.
Inferno 1 - All girls stayed in RR but wanted Katie out.
BOTS2 - Ruthie/Tina instead of Arissa.
Inferno 2 - No ****** girls went home but wanted Tonya out.

I think that is all just a matter of opinion.
But that is kind of subjective. I get what you are saying, jhl. I've talked about people "deserving" to make it to the end myself. But the way the challenges are set up, the person who is the strongest competitor is not guaranteed to win. There are too many other things that can happen over the course of the show as well to get the best read overall on who "should" have still been there based on how they compete. Sometimes a really good competitor is eliminated early on, and you don't know if that person would have been at the top if they'd stayed, and therefore, "deserved" to make it to the end over people who were the strongest later on in the show. An example of that could be Julie on BOTS. She was known for being a good competitor. If she wasn't eliminated early on, maybe she would have done better than Emily or Veronica and been the one to "deserve" to make it to the end with Ellen and Ruthie. But we don't know that at all. Votes from early on can change how the course of the show goes, and it changes the structure of the level of competitors left. It happens on every challenge. I think the way challenges and voting is set up often at times allows for it to happen.
Plus, if a weaker person wins their elimination rounds, then they have earned their stay. Or if the other team tries to make it so that the weaker person stays on their opponent's team, the opposing team doesn't have much control over that happening.
I think a case can be made for BOTSexes. Not for Veronica, but for Emily. Had Emily not quit, I don't think (mathematically) Lori would have had enough points to place in the inner circle and it probably would have been Ruthie, Ellen, and Emily in the end. I could be wrong though.
Otherwise, I do agree it is all opinion based.
Here's something you probably didn't know
During the 2001 Extreme Challenge, Northern Trail Jon makes a cameo at the Mud-Wrestling Mission to fill in for Ayanna who had just been removed for physical violence. Last minute, Jon's appearance was edited out of the episode all together. It remains that we have not seen Jon since his original season in 1998.
Jon says its a shame MTV edited him out but "you can see [his] shoe in one of the shots"
I'll add my own fact.
In both Battle of the Sexes, the final 3 women where all non-caucasian (lori, ellen, ruthie BOTS1, Coral, Sofia,Arissa BOTS2) too add to that, they all had traits of the same race..BOTS1 girls all had asian roots and the BOTS2 girls all had black roots.
Piggy on BOTS2 is new info to me, can anyone confirm that she was supposed to be on that challenge? I thought Cameran arrived later because she missed her flight? Or was that the cover-up?
I miss Piggy, they seriously need to bring her back in some way or form. SHE was entertainment.
