When I first read the article on ESPN yesterday, it didn't sound right at all. I mean...who leaves their house at 2:30 in the morning? Then, doing less than 33 mph, he runs into a fire hydrant AND a tree? And then they say that alcohol wasn't involved? So if it wasn't alcohol, it must have been another "distraction"...plus, who breaks out the back window of an Escalade to try and get him out? If the guy can climb over 2 rows of seats to get out the back window, he certainly shouldn't have been lying on the sidewalk in and out of consciousness. Plus, if you're doing less than 33 mph, no damage should have been enough to your car that you couldn't open the driver's side door.
It sounds ridiculously suspicious. I wonder if he'll be making an open donation to charity a la Shaq.

Oh ya....this just screams cover up on every level.
I'm guessing the actual story is going to be much [strike]better[/strike] er...worse than the current speculation.
Right now they are trying to come up with a solid cover story. So the cops come over to talk to your husband and you tell them he is sleeping? Yes, I know you can do that being it is not like they were there to arrest him - but that is highly suspicious. It almost sounds like you are buying time to a.) Get your stories straight with your team of lawyers b.) Make sure on the off chance that they request a blood test for other things, that it would be through his system (48 hours for most things.)
Oh my, it is a photo from the scene! :D

Haha, I couldn't help myself, and it was the first thing I thought of when I read the TMZ article this morning.

I completely agree. This whole story is just bizarre. And like you, one of the things that stands out most to me is that she hit the car with a golf club to get him out? I don't think so. (After only a 33mph collision NONE of those doors would open?) I agree with the reports that they probably got into a drunken disagreement, and things got ugly, and he tried to flee. So weird...I'm interested to see how this story will unfold, and what kind of spin the Woods' and or their attorneys will try to put on it.
Oooooh celebrities-they're just like us!! ;)

I saw the pictures, the doors were definitely available to open. Her explanation was that the doors were locked (which is believable) but she hits the back window? Why not the back seat window? Or the passenger side window? ****, she could've hit the driver's side door easily enough without hitting him.
Not the mention the fact that there was no blood on the steering wheel, which just proves that none of his "lacerations" were from the actual accident.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, right?
"As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.
This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.
This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.
The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.
This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be."

Curiouser and curiouser...
Well, as far as the police are concerned the case is over with just a $164 fine.
His wife might be a different matter. He definitively might want to head over to Zales when he is feeling better and see if he can get a "Kobe Special." Or maybe like one for each finger...
Edit: And toe.

"Flock-of-seagulls-tool", I am dead.
The Tiger implosion has finally arrived. But I have a feeling the worst is yet to come (i.e. when girls 2-1175 show up on TMZ.)
I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.
Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.
But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.
Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.
I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology."

Um...ok?
Why the hell would he think that he can cheat and not get caught? They always get caught...ALWAYS! Has he learned nothing from Jude Law, David Letterman, Bill Clinton ect.?
See, now why would you need to smash both back windows in order to free your husband?
Ya, that story is not holding water AT ALL.
TMZ is just filled with goodies this morning...
Highlights:

There was damage as a result of the altercation in the vestibule area of Tiger's home -- damage that cannot be easily repaired, and that is why Tiger would not let police come in.

Rachel Uchitel has publicly denied she had sexual relations with Tiger Woods, but she is now saying she did indeed have an affair with the golfer. And, it was her -- not Jaimee Grubbs -- who caused an argument between Tiger and his wife, Elin Nordegren, that immediately preceded Tiger's SUV crash.

Mistress #3 is Kalika Moquin, a PR manager for a number of hotspots in Vegas
Oh and Uchitel's lawyer, Gloria Allred, will hold a news conference today at 11:30 AM PT with Uchitel present and TMZ will be streaming the event (as will everyone else, of course.)
Looks like today is going to be filled with [strike]fun![/strike] revelations...
