I think Natalie is playing the game best out of everyone!
I wouldn't say she's playing the best game, but she definitely knows when she needs to get her hands dirty and when to stay away. She's not stupid, that's for sure.
Yup I agree! She is playing both sides... And eating rats!
I was pleasantly surprised that it was her that killed the rat.
At the same time, if she's going to go further in this game, she needs to be a bit more vocal about what she's doing and make some bigger moves. I could totally see her as that girl that gets to the finals but then is looked at as a coat tail rider.
FOA FOA survived another day. thank god!
so who gets the not so hidden immunity idol next week? i think it will not be russell. will a fake HII emerge?
While I understand the Russell hate. He outsmarted everyone. The haters need to deal.
Yes, he is a bad person. Yes, he is a bad person.
Has a played a good game? Probably one of the best ever.
I dislike Russell, but I don't understand how anyone could argue! He's outsmarting the **** out of everyone, and he's really interesting to watch on TV! He's good for the show!
Also, my problem with the idols isnt that they are easy to find - it's that they're going to put it back in play. For example - 1 idol for each camp pre-merge. Check. 1 idol post-merge - Check. But they're going to put it into play AGAIN!? Has that ever happened?
I think Natalie is playing the game best out of everyone!
I never thought I would say it, but Natalie is doing great! She has the social skills down and that'll take her far.
I almost picked her for my Survivor pool too. ****it!
(PS - I still don't know how to multi-quote. Oops!)

I doubt it will, all the idols have looked the same so far so no one's gonna fall for it.

I like the idea it keeps getting put into play, but the producers shouldn't have made Jeff reveal that in front of everyone.
I thought that made it much more fair. If you are going to keep putting it in play then you have to be fair and tell everyone what is up and that the rules have changed. How Dave was acting and that he had a huge hand in winning reward, I think I would have blind sided him. This though is just me. Mick is playing a really good game as you don't really even notice him. I would be shocked not to see him make the top 5. This is similar to though for Brett as I can't see him going home anytime soon either.

Yes, but it's usually when someone fails to play it before they're voted out (i.e. Ozzy in FvF) and Jeff announces that it's back in the game at the next challenge. I don't think he's ever announced it at TC though, and I don't even think it's been put back in after someone's actually played it.

Amanda played it during FVF, and the next episode, Erik and Natalie were discussing sending each other to Exile so they could look for it. Erik ended up sending Parvati anyway, but she was preoccupied with sunbathing so she didn't look for it.

Touche ;) I couldn't remember if Jeff actually announced that the idol was back in play that season.

Parvati told Dalton Ross that she accidentally ran into the idol, but didn't bother taking it.
There's no way to confirm it though.

CBS just loves their Tribal Councils...from next week's preview:
Tempers flare and an alliance threatens to splinter apart at the most dramatic tribal council yet.
I'm thinking maybe the Laura-Russ confrontation will finally rear its ugly head (no pun intended on the Medusa reference)?
Just watched this episode and the tribal council definitely lived up to the hype. Dave's face was priceless! I like that Foa Foa is actually pulling off these blindsides, it makes the weeks of getting to know just them worth it. I feel more invested in those players so it's nice to see them succeed and shut the cocky Galu members up a little. ;)
I don't think Russel is being given clues to the idol. He has obviously studied the game and knows how things work. I think Dave said something along the lines of "if he suspects there is an idol I'd be surprised." Like OF COURSE he suspects an idol! There is usually one after the merge, he already played one and why wouldn't he at least consider there being one and look for it to save his butt? It can't hurt right? Russel is WAY ahead of them in game play, I gotta respect that.
I was actually pretty proud of Natalie for taking the initiative and killing the rat. That would be the hardest thing for me to overcome in a survivor situation, being able to put aside my feelings and just go for it to get some food.
I am excited for next week and am sorta rooting for Russel to snatch another idol right out from under their noses :)
Um, can I just say I would absolutely die if Russell (or someone from FF) finds the idol, and then the whole "race" that's between him and Laura in the preview for next week would be for a fake idol?
Seriously. Die.
Also, from Probst's blog:
Secondly, I JUST LOVE THIS EPISODE. I liked Kelly and it didn't particularly please me that she was gone but WOW, this was indeed one of the best Tribal Councils ever. Looks at Galu especially Dave's SHOCKED expression when Russell presented the HII. Classic, classic, classic! And much as I really hated Russell, gosh, he's one of the smartest players to ever play this game. Finding the HII TWICE and TWICE without clues? THAT is something. But that doesn't mean I'm rooting for him. And it's gonna be way interesting if week after week HE finds the HII and week after week it gets hidden again. Lol.
Bye Kelly. You must have been SO SHOCKED. =(
That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw that preview! Just like, "please, please, please!!! Let that be Russel and FF playing games with Galu and leading them on a wild goose chase for a fake one..."
Oh that would be just TOO good.
I feel more invested in those players so it's nice to see them succeed and shut the cocky Galu members up a little.
I agree. While Russell might be a little demon, I actually prefer Foa Foa and when he is succeeding now with his gameplay - it helps all of them. The smiles on their faces were almost as priceless as the look on Dave's!
I cant stand Russell!!!!
He was in it like 20 out of the 43 minutes of air time. He ****** me off. Really finding 2 idols with no clues??? Really??? sure!!! He is not even entertaining, he is boring and annoying as hell! when I see him my eyes hurt!
He was in this episode 10x more than kelly and she got VOTED OUT, he didn't. These people die to be on a show and go throw a grueling process, atleast give them their glory! Please give us a freaking pass on Russell.

Yeah except that most of them are plucked off the street now by casting agents to fill their hot girl and guy quota instead of making a tape and sending it in and being interviewed multiple times. Some have never even seen the show and it shows when they get on and have no idea how to play the game. She did yoga in the morning for cripes sake! I'm not really that upset that she didn't get her airtime this episode. Plus it made the blindside that much more unexpected and exciting.

I understand that. But why put Russell as the spokesperson? I know casting isn't what it used to be, but there are still plenty of people who would die to be on the show, and still plenty who got on by "the right way of casting" and know how to play the game.
Like Laura... She is strong and knows how to the play the game. And the female cop who got voted out the second episode, She was also there to play the game. She was tough and smart. I doubt they casted her for her looks. I just don't think Russell should be on it as much as he is. That is just my opinion.
Russel's not my fav either, I do like him a hell of a lot better than Coach though ;) Thank goodness the Coach show is over, for now at least! I just respect him as a Survivor player because he has obviously studied the game and is playing a really smart one. I actually think he represents the kind of person you are talking about, one that worked really hard to get there and was a big fan, but maybe he just doesn't have the lovable attitude you are also looking for.
I think in Kelly's case, if they had had anything remotely interesting to show about her on her last day in camp, besides sun bathing, they probably would have shown it. Erik got quite a bit of air time on his last day, he is just more of an interesting person to watch. Laura also gets lots of airtime, especially of others talking about her. We definitely know she is a big player and someone others want out. Kelly I didn't even know her name really until this ep and I think that speaks both to editing and how she most likely lacked the personality they had hoped for.
I completely agree with you tater. I don't hate Russell, I just don't see what everyone's fascination with him is... including CBS. Erik got his alotted air time on his farewell day and I agree Kelly was boring and probably didn't provide much to the show.
I also agree Russell is a fan and worked hard to be on it, I don't mind he doesn't have a loveable attitude (even though that would help),I just mind his airtime. I honestly dont think it is fair to other people (excluding some people like kelly and monica- even though they are good eye candy)
Very true. He gets too much airtime. Just cutting it down by like 5 min would help a ton! I can see why they may think milking someone may keep the viewers around, but what happens when they don't make it to the end, we don't know anything about the others so what makes us want to see them compete? And if they do make it to the end we may be too overloaded with that person that we would rather turn it off. Maybe Russel can only be a quarter of the air time from now on so hopefully Natalie can kill some more rats and Dave can make some more hilarious faces!
I am on the same page as tater, 100%!!!
The only other Survivors, besides Russ, that have a little airtime (albeit very little) are Laura, Natalie, Shambo and Dave (when he says something funny or makes a funny face)...
I honestly don't really know anything about the other people... Mick? He seems like a great guy and strong, but I have nothing to base that on. Brett seems like a fun guy to have around camp, but again I have nothing to base that on. I definitely think Russ's airtime should be cut.
I can't wait to see Russell go everyone one else will get more airtime as a result ditto for shambo who is also taking to much on this show up. I though have to disagree as Dave gets quite alot of talking parts as well John, Natalie, Jaison, and Monica get frequent talking parts. I just think it's sad that they don't ever let Brett talk or get involved it's quite sad the same for Mick. I also think they definately threw Eric under the bus and blamed him for all their problems, which is quite unfair.
