I feel like recently they've done one serious season, one party season, so on and so forth. Hollywood was pretty much a party season, Brooklyn was serious, Cancun was a party, DC seems like it's either going to be pretty serious or a mixture of both, so following this formula, it makes sense that RW24 is going to be a party season. That's why, if I audition, I'm going to audition for RW25. I don't think I have the chops to be of any interest on a party season, and by the time RW25 casting rolls around I'll be 21.
You're exactly right.
It's obvious when they do a "serious" season because they put out a description of what they are casting as they did for DC and then they have a lot more open casting calls in more cities and a slightly longer casting season. It just takes more time to find serious stories and the perfect combination of people to be on a cast for those seasons.
Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin's Term is pretyy much over or will be over by time They pick the cast. So if there are still no casting in Atlanta, its still an option.
I think they are not casting in Atlanta because they are probably going to be filming there. That's my bet at this point. I mean, look at the facts:
1. They're going to film some place warmer given the filming occurs between Feb and June.
2. This isn't going to be a serious season..but not a total party season either.
3. They aren't going to give the cast jobs...so they need a city that can provide them with enough jobs to meet their diversified interests.
4. They aren't looking for people interested in Entertainment (meaning Nashville and Orlando are out)
5. We know that they want higher ratings...which BMP is likely to assume that higher ratings mean bigger cities (guarentee that is what they think).
I would say it looks like this season is headed to either Atlanta or Dallas. I'm assuming Atlanta since they didn't do an open call there.
Maybe I think too much...but I was dead right about DC, Cancun, Brooklyn, and Hollywood.

I agree 100%. I am going to go on a limb right now and say the next Real World is going to be in Atlanta. Lots of circumstantial things are adding up and it has yet to host a season.

If Atlanta is the city of choice for this year, here's is what the casting directors will be looking for (I'm sure they love that I profile them...but I'm willing to say that I'm right on track with what I've seen and heard):
1. Racially blended house. Think Back to New York or Las Vegas. I expect an increase in the number of minorities than they have had the past several seasons.
2. The potential of an illegal immigrant in the cast is still there (if they found someone in their casting calls last season)
3. People who like to date across racial boundaries.
4. Guys with muscles.
5. A sterotypical blonde girl (they haven't had one of those in a few seasons)
None of the above makes for an uber-serious season, but would allow them to have somewhat of a story balance between characters.
I agree. If Atlanta is chosen, I see the cast leaning towards the likes of B2NY, Las Vegas or even Hollywood (Cast with the most minorities). But I won't be shocked if we get the average 2 minorities.
The Real World hasn't casted someone young(18) in forever it seems. I think the last one may have been Jillian on RR:Xtreme, where she said she was 18 and just graudated from High School.

It appears that BMP is trying to widen the base of support for Real World which is why they have some seasons that are serious and some that are fun...it's all about creating a larger pool of potential viewers so they have to appeal to more people. That is why I think we're going to see 3 or 4 minorities if they go to Atlanta (or wherever they go next).
I also think that RW23's casting process was setting the ground works for RW24, 25, and 26...since they got the 4 year contract from MTV. So that's why I think we will likely see someone with a different immigration background or something like that involved in next season. Of course, the show go easily go to Pheonix to take an immigration stand too. Or Houston to show off a character that is overweight (given that Houston is ranked as the #1 fattest city in the country).
We can really only guess at this point b/c all we know is that the BMP strategy is to have some serious seasons, some mixed, and some that are just party seasons. We also know that they want to incorporate more of a storyline into their seasons. And I would assume that bc Cancun's ratings were kinda mixed that BMP is probably leaning towards mixed and more serious seasons for a little while. But a mixed season doesn't mean "serious" it just may mean that they are showcasing a theme of some kind while having some fun. Honestly, I would love to see a plus sized girl in a beach town with an attitude that she loves herself and doesn't care what people think. How freak'n awesome would that be?
Anyways, I have no idea what's in store -- I just like guessing. It just so happens that I do a pretty job guessing most of the time...it's not that hard when BMP is predictable and doesn't take risks that often.

Hate to be so blunt but what does an 18 year old have to offer the show? The show can get in major trouble if it becomes a hub for underage partiers...plus, most young people (13 to 18) really look up to the 21 to 25 year old crowd...so it makes sense to keep using 21 to 25 year olds.
Honestly, I think they should expand the age range. It would add an entirely new dynamic to the show to allow 18 to 27 year olds audition. Not saying they should begin casting a lot of people in their mid-20s, but it would be neat to see someone like that thrown in every now and then...just like the random 18 year old.
Trisha and Ashli were both 19 I believe.
That is correct. The youngest person to be cast recently in a RW that was stateside was Svetlana at 19, with Wes and Nehemiah both at 19 the season before her.
If you guys actually go here you will see that age, along with a bunch of other statistics, have been compiled.
Quick Question:
Can you go to multiple casting calls during one casting season? Like, if you go to one casting call and don't get past it, can you go to another one in a different city the next week or so?
Thanks!

I think they said that if you don't do well in the open casting, to submit a tape because you might have been having a bad day and they won't hold it against you. I don't think going to another casting will be good though because you don't want to look desperate. Good luck!!

Honestly, the chances that you're going to get the same casting director that ACTUALLY remembers you is slim. Keep in mind that they have 15,000 people who audition for the show every year...so they won't remember you most likely.
So, CannotTellU, you would say go for it? Like, if you can't send in an audition tape, would going to another casting call be your best bet?
My advice to anyone is if you really want it then go for it.
Be realisitic in understanding that your chances of getting on the show are slim...but do what you want to do and don't give a flip what anyone else says. So go...and send me an update on how you do.
Good luck.

Thank you! Your words of advice actually gave me some sort of extra boost of confidence and drive! And I definitely will!
honestly i think the tape is better, because you can be creative and be crazy and show things on the tape that you might not in an open casting call. Even if you slip up once at a casting call the attention of the casting director goes from intrested to ehh maybe. And at times your not sure what you did or maybe your just not the look they want. They probally interview close to 100 if not more people at every casting call and they don't have much patience. Plus my friend went to the NYC casting and made it to round 2 and she is tan, green eyes, blonde hair and she has 5 tattoos of stars on her back straight down that she said she showed the casting director. Honestly if you don't have a Vip pass its hard to really get the attention of the casting directors and make it to round 2.
The VIP pass people have longer interviews and have wayyyyyyyy Better chances than people who show up and wait on line for hours. Believe it if you want to but its the truth, MTV wants to cast attractive people no matter what they say. Imagine if the next real world dosen't have anyone like the typical "muscle guy, or sexy blonde or brunette girl, the ratings would drastically drop.

They should cast an asian male, lol. that'd be different...I don't think i've ever seen one on RR (?)

And you may have just screwed her as she signed waivers saying she would not talk about the casting process, and by you talking about her making it to round 2 means she obviously told you (or someone else) that she made it further, breaking said waiver. I'm sure there weren't too many tan, green eyed, blonde girls with 5 tattoos on her back straight down that the casting people met in NYC. Congratulations!

I think that it would be kinda cool if BMP instead of how they have had in the past (fans) vote for who should be the last castmate i.e. Greg, and aiyya, they should instead give us a group of say 8 people in which we (Vevmo) vote who will be the final castmate. I only say this not because I don't like who America has choosen. Greg was awesome and so was Aiyya but because as Vevmo as a whole i feel that this group of individuals is more informed and in that we would collectively choose the best housemate. Also this would rid the fact of you voting for yourself.
