A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
Saw the trailer......Looks nothing like the original Freddy. Once again, someone has come in and butchered a classic. Way to go New Line, way to not keep Robert Englund. I now have no interest in watching this anymore. YouTube - A Nightmare on Elm Street in HD Trailer 2010
The trailer didnt look THAT bad. Then again, im a sucker for horror movies. I agree though, they totally butchered the way Freddy is suppose to look. At the end of the day...i'll still go see it. :)
Looks good to me.
Looks like the love child of VOldemort and Freddy.
I used to love the "nursery rhyme" the little girls sing.
I hope you talking about 1,2 buckle my shoe and not 1, 2 freddy's comming for you. Because if your not that a little creepy. lol... The trailer does look good though!
Anyone who knows me knows I am a die hard freddy fan. My screen name is fkrueger50!!! I just love the creativity and imagination put into it. The first one is amazing... I know the movie by heart. I have met Robert Englund, Heather Langengkamp, Patricia Arquette and Lisa Wilcox to name a few. I am dissapointed that they are remaking it. His face doesn't look good. The make-up is done awful and they are going to butcher the franchise (no pun intended). But around that time, there is a DVD coming out called Never Sleep Again: The Nightmare Legacy which is a documentary on how A Nightmare on Elm Street influenced a generation. "Nancy" Heather Langengkamp is going to narrate and the will get stars of the movies to talk about their experience. I am excited about that!
I think this was bound to happen.. He needs a new generation of dreams to take over. LOL. I hope it's good.
I think it looks pretty good. I mean, am I happy they remade it? No. But as a trailer for a new standalone version - it looks good. And Jackie Earle Haley is the ****.
Pushed back til April 30th. Bummer.
Friday the 13th sucked pretty bad. There are more Jason fans out there than Freddy fans. I like both. Jason never dies same thing with Freddy. People underestimate Freddy, he is a nightmare that never goes away, but he has more weapons than Jason since anything can happen it a nightmare. We will see a rematch in the future hopefully.
I think this will work. I trust Jackie Earle Haley to do the role justice. Freddy is about fear. As long as it exists, so will he. Robert Englund is too old to continue the role and yes, Johnny Depp was in the original.

So, I finally saw Nightmare on Elm Street. It was pretty good. I wasn't scared at all... and honestly, I preferred the original. That being said... I still enjoyed it. Has anyone else seen it yet?
Yeah, I saw it posted what I thought of it in the Movies 2010 section. To summarize I thought it was awful.

No I didn't see the original and the people who I went with said it followed the story quite a bit. I just thought the whole "pedophile" thing made him seem much weaker and it wasn't all that scary. The death scenes also were very similar, for a horro movie not to many people were shown dying either.

My problem with the film is that they took away a lot of the elements from the original that made the movie. 80s slasher films are full of teenaged misbehavior... there was no drinking/sex in this.. lol Also.. I don't remember the pedophile stuff from the first one. I could have lived without that as well.... Toward the end we saw a little of the old school Freddy humor.. "How's that for a wet dream?".. but it almost felt too little too late.
I haven't seen it yet. But not sure if I will, since I've been hearing mixed reviews.
i liked the opening that he may/ or may not be a pedophile. Like there was ever a doubt the dude seriously lived in a cave under a pre school.
Just got home from this movie. It really sucked a lot, not to mention there were three 5-year-olds in the theatre. I was just not plausible at all, and it's that plausible stuff that really gets me.

A man kills teenagers in their dreams. Other than that.. the rest is pretty plausible. There were some kids in my theater too. That's a huge pet peeve of mine.
Can anyone say "two tickets to how to train a dragon". See after tons of kids walking into Nightmare on Elm Street.
I literally mean five year olds. They were with an adult and they could barely even speak when the movie was over.
I've been hearing mixed things, but i'll most likely be seeing it next week.

not as good as the original, but worth the 9 dollars. really good remake.
O wow its 9bucks now????? Is it 3D?
O wow its 9bucks now????? Is it 3D?
It's more expensive in bigger cities... I only paid $7.00. Also, if you have a do it yourself kiosk.. sometimes you can cheat and buy a kids ticket.. lol
not as good as the original, but worth the 9 dollars. really good remake.
Man I wish I can see movies for $9. The movie was good! definitely enjoyable. Obviously not as good as the original but it delivers scares, especially the jump scares.
I kept my expectations in check for this one and all I can offer up is an indifferent shrug of the shoulders and a "meh". It was by no means bad but it wasn't necessarily good either, it was just...there. In general I am against 99% of remakes but thought this one could use an update but overall it just didn't work for me, it was just bland like the Friday the 13th remake.
