I'm glad they're not replacing him to be honest. We haven't gotten to see very much of Bronne, Derek or Emilee and bringing in a new roommate would take even more time away from those three.
I really want RW to go back to 7 people.
I'd prefer they go back to seven as well. I think the uneven number kind of works better for this show. Plus it's one less person for them to cover. Someone always gets left out a little, anyway, in terms of airtime, but with eight people it just makes it more likely, I feel.
I hope RW 24 will feature seven because Baya and Derek practically not being there. Plus the stupid boys vs girls drama thought has come about the last two seasons. But I wish there was a replacement, that always seems positive lately loved Shavoun but loved Ashli and Nick and Brittini so it would be interesting too see......RW 24 better have 7 because the boy vs girl/hidden eight roommate is tiring
I just heard an interview from earlier in the week with Tyrie. He said that he never liked Colie until he got out of the house and found out she smoked. When the host asked what she smoked he heavily hinted at the "herbal".
Interesting. I thought Ty had good friendships with all the Denver girls, i guess i was mistaken. His most obvious tight friendship would be with Jenn since she considers him her "chocolate teddy bear". Better to be that than Leroy Jenkins, if you know what i mean.
That's great, especially considering that before they had the tightest friendship, they were close to exchanging blows due to Ty mocking Jenn's "ROCKSTAR!!!" quote. Although both were obviously drunk at the time, if Ty had hit Jenn, he could've been labeled "the next Stephen" only not gay like him.

anyone else agree?
I don't think they take away from them so much as I believe they are generally a waste of time since the host i.e. Mark Long never really puts the screws to the guests and nothing ever really gets added in the way of exciting tidbits.

I think it depends on how many aftershows there are. I think one or two aftershows are good, but I feel if there's three or more, it takes away from the reunion(like Brooklyn and Duel 2).

I still think it depends on the quality of the show. We had Katelynn being okay with Ryan during their first aftershow and being seemingly okay when he had "The Talk" originally and then she went all pissy about him by the reunion. I think that at least gives you some idea of where the truth lies when something like that evolves over time. I am not sure if that change in her attitude was a result of her being mad about Ryan harping on Sarah so much after taping or if it was because Ryan upstaged her in her own storyline when it made it to "The Soup" Clip of the Week" where she was all but cut out of it.
I wonder how the last three seasons would be without the eighth roommate. I think that Devyn (no offense), Emilee (love but keep forgetting her), and Emily (looks boring but IDK) wouldn't have been chosen.

how am i the eighth roommate? hahahaha
Wouldn't Ayiiia be the 8th roomate since the other seven in Cancun were actually casted, since she is the online winner and all? If you look at it technically. However, the drama Ayiiia brings makes one of the casted roommates a bit forgotten about. I think Derek is least impacting on this season, with Bronne and Jonna and Cj not adding much so far. I think that may change with the rest of the season. In terms of Brooklyn, I felt Baya, Scott, and Devyn were all pretty imsignificant overall for the dramatics of their season.
Emilee not that you are the eighth, just saying if they cut out having eight or one of the roommates. Let me update: Scott or Devyn, Emilee or Derek(no offense), Emily(DC)
Question: even though Cancun was a "party season", did all of the Cancun cast have Hollywood/Brooklyn aspirations and Dreams?
Sorry for offending you Emilee. IDK if Ayiiia is the eighth roommate, because she could have been casted around the same time or before.

I don't think that's a fair assessment at all.
I'm not a fan of every person this season, but I don't think any of us should try and say who is the "8th roommate". BMP/MTV are the ones that made that call, and like it or not, I think everyone got their spot fair and square.

I was responding to NPresh in terms of he or she stating this whole "Who is the eighth roommate" game. I DO like everyone this season, which is rare for me. How is my assessment unfair? On a technical pathology alone, MTV/BMP chose Derek, Jonna, CJ; Bronne, Joey, Emilee, and Jasmine through submission tapes and the seven were casted. If they were to do away with online selection and winner - wouldn't that mean Ayiiia would be exempt from the show? Unless. I don't have all the fact - which is likely - that would be an assumption of doing away with 8 roommates is the end result.
I don't think there is a show without Ayiiia, as the other seven. I do like them all and think Joey, Ayiiia, and now Jasmine may have more drama and air time than some of the others. So while I don't personally agree with doing away with the eighth roomate nor do I want to label, I sort of think that there is always a few yu forget about once the season is over. Whether they are more "put together" and less dramatic or just plain want it that way - I do think that is a statement which is pretty fair.
Edit: apologies ahead of time on the choppiness of my post, I am using my cell which tortures me in terms of posting here lol
I don't think anyone from Hollywood would be the 8th roommate, because from what I remember, there were still 7 to begin with that season.
I just think the addition of Nick and Brittini makes it seem like there were 8 people, but in reality it started with 7.
I think that Ayiiia would have been casted by BMP.
I agree. And Jim Johnston said as much in his blog on the Cancun Dailies site.

Even the Hollywood cast themselves prefer to think of themselves as 8 over 9 if you look at the Youtube video of Will, Brianna, and Kimberly discussing their lives after the horrid Reunion show. Bri said among other things, "Well, out of all nine of us...well, i'd like to say eight but...". That pretty much clinches the opinion that it's not only "The Chosen One" who thinks that being on the show is something that he would've said no to if he had the opportunity to change history but everybody else on the cast, although it would mostly be the other original cast since i don't think Greg has ever said how he felt about Nick and Brittini. He did express in detail what he really thinks of the others, very suprising to me how the only roommate he didn't say a negative remark about was Joey, simply stating about him that he's a "good guy" and "misunderstood".

I am pretty sure that Baya said she knew she was the 8th one chosen for Brooklyn which was why she felt that she didn't get that much screen time because they didn't know what to do with her just looking to have fun.
Another reason why Baya didn't get much airtime is also in a way her fault too. Her bio said the bit about her having panic attacks and she said on the Reunion that she always kept those moments away from the cameras. If she had let the cameras show her having anxiety, she probably would've gotten a bit more airtime. It's not like panic attacks haven't been seen before, just look at Paula so why the big secret?!
