The Time Traveler's Wife
The movie opened today. Has anyone seen it yet? I'm going in a few hours.
Clare has been in love with Henry her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated: Henry is a time traveler--cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan with no control. Despite the fact that Henry's travels force them apart with no warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love. SQUEE!!! I'm so going to see it. The book was really good! I recommmend to it to everyone. I'm not sure if I'm going to see it this weekend or later on, but definitely will be a girl group outing. I looooove me some Rachel McAdams. (She's got that whole running-from-a-distance-and-jumping-into-the-arms-of-your-love down!)
I want to see this! Those of you who have read the book--would you recommend I read it before I go see the movie (in terms of understanding some stuff that may be left out)? I don't know if I'll be able to wait...I love both Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana!

But I wouldn't think so. If you can't wait, just see it! Sometimes it's nice to read the book after the movie because it's like a bonus extended version. And yes Insider, that was me :D

The Time Traveler's Wife - So Sorry, I Lost My Clothes Years Ago - NYTimes.com If I was going to stomach this at the theater, I'd have to be guaranteed later I would, um....never mind... Anyway, I might watch it when it makes its way to HBO.
I will prbibaly just wait until its in one of those 2 for $11 dvd bins at Wal-Mart.

I HAAAATE watching movies at home. I almost never watch DVDs. If I don't see it in a theater, then I probably won't see it. I will never understand how anyone can stand to sit on a sofa and watch a movie. It just isn't the same.

I much prefer it, not just because it is cheaper, but because I hate being in a theater with noisy people or uncomfortable chairs or not being able to eat anything I want. Big action movies or epic movies like LOTR I much prefer to see first in the theater, but with RomComs or something that doesn't need the surround sound or big screen I'd rather see it at home.

I just don't like going to the movie theater to see a bad movie and won't go unless I am "forced." Besides, none of the theaters in my area have a full bar and pause button, which I consider must have amenities! :D

I'm the same way Taters, it takes a lot for me to go out and see a movie, unless I know it is epic. I'm much more contenet to pee and munch on my own terms. :)

I like the theater because I can concentrate fully. I am distracted by too many things at home. I much prefer the social environment of a public viewing.
I only go to the theater for action or horror films.
I am going to see it this weekend...I hope.
I think Insider is saying we are shut-ins and she is a social butterfly. :wink2:
No. Haha. I just meant there's something rather thrilling about sharing an emotional reaction with strangers. (ie laughter, tears, horror, etc)
I find myself looking around to see other peolples reactions.
eeeeeek! yay!
I am going to see the movie this weekend. Although, I haven't heard many good reviews, but the movies never do the books justice, and the book was SOOOO good.
I try not to listen to reviews because I usually end up disagreeing with them.
