Brooklyn brought the ratings but could not keep them. I don't dislike Brooklyn, it had a good cast, but the only reason it got good ratitings for episode one is because it got very good promotion. Cancun didn't.

And it continued to get good ratings until the middle of the season.
I thought for sure this episode would do good.
Cancun is amazing. I hope that MTV realizes their mistakes with promotion. It is so unfair that Hollywood, Sydney, and Brooklyn get loads of promo time yet Cancun got hardly any.
I might sound silly saying this, but MTV needs to get their priorities right: quit beating those damn P. Diddy shows and fake "Hills" telenovelas into the ground and put a little more focus on The Real World. It clearly seems that a little more promotion goes a long way. It's not like Cancun is something that's actually worth hiding...like Inferno 3 was. YIKES, that was a mess!

I totally agree. The Real World is the godfather of all reality TV shows(and the first on MTV) so I think MTV needs to focus more on Real World. MTV needs to focus less on people the Diddy and Paris Hilton, because they make loads of money elsewhere.

Diddy has all the money in the world to make a life supply of 3-ply toilet paper to wipe his *** with; why in the hell is he still on our TV screens? This celebrity is truly acting like a reality TV star, and it's A) scary, B) annoying.

Totally agree. Hardly watched Hollywood, Sydney, and Brooklyn but cannot miss any episode of Cancun.
This is a really good season* I loovvveee Emilee, Aiyiiia, & CJ* Jasmine and Joey are annoying*
How can this season not have good ratings? It's soooo gooooood***
Easily, the ratings are terrible because of the lack of promotion, and because they are terrible at editing.
Looks like they're promoting my least favorite this season:

Here's the thing that doesn't really upset me about the ratings--a lot of people DVR the show, a lot of people watch it online, and a lot of people catch it on reruns because MTV reruns it a lot. In fact, I think it's safe to say that the show is just as popular as it was before but the fact of the matter is that it's just more difficult to gauge now because catching it at 10pm is not the only way to see the newest episode.
