I think you meant "forgettable." But it was hard for them to be part of the reunion when 1) their season just ended and 2) they were only shown during the last five minutes of it.
Regardless of what the majority thinks, I thought London was a decent season, from the episodes I'd seen. I just like the idea of having an international group of people in a season of RW.
I indeed meant, forgettable. And I'd love to see that reunion. I only seen clips of it. In fact most of the reunions I've seen period are from this decade. Challenge and all.
"RW Reunion - Inside Out" (the first four seasons) is available on VHS. If they ever release it on DVD, I'd be glad to add it to my YouTube channel. Clips of it are at Real World Road Rules Videos .
The '93 reunion of the first cast isn't available anywhere. I used to have it on VHS (along with the first season with original music) but no longer have that tape. I wish I'd kept it. I guess the only way to see that one is if MTV decides to have a classic channel where they air old MTV shows and music videos. I doubt that's gonna happen, though.
The '93 reunion was tense. They ended their season talking about wanting to be friends, but return to the loft for a weekend with tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. Someone from Entertainment Weekly came to interview them during this reunion. They were upset that Julie and Eric got the most attention on the show, Julie felt Eric blew her off (now that he was this "big" star on "The Grind"), and Andre brought a girl over (Heather voiced her problems with that). Julie was still in NYC at the time trying to pursue a dance career, and Becky was working as a bartender somewhere.
The reunion ended on a decent note (food and wine will do that for ya), but it had a rough start.
I'm honestly surprised they haven't done Real World: The Hamptons yet. As long as they film it from April to September, there will be plenty of clubs for them to go to. And we all know there are TONS of Mansions to pick from.
Though they never did a season of that, the Hamptons is still the site of one of the most memorable RW quotes from Coral: "Jisela, get off the ho train, cause you're the only one on it!"

I don't think anyone could do The Hamptons on an MTV budget.
I was kinda hoping for this season to be in like DC, Baltimore or Phoenix. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I was hoping for Atlanta.
never say never. I thought there would never be a rw brooklyn or queens and look what happened...
There is a whole thread on it and they banned filming there or something.
There is a whole thread on it and they banned filming there or something.
Oh, yes, didn't it have to do with their Mayor banning filming?
Suspossedly but I doubt it since College Hill was filmed there....
I don't feel like digging for it again, but basically the mayor did not like how The Real World portrayed young African Americans. Nowhere was it ever stated that they had banned BMP from filming in Atlanta.
I hate to progress this but what the **** is she talking about? Other than Karamo, Kevin and Tami the portrayals were up to par. Did she not watch College Hill last year? The made us look like we were messy and pure instigators..

Yea even a casting director said there were specific reasons why it would never be held in Atl. I did not really watch College Hill. To me it seems like BET tries to copy everything MTV is broadcasting.

I've always had the distinct impression that MTV was an equal opportunity exploiter and that exploitation was not race dependant. ;)
DC was not in the cards for the next season, since there was no way Jon Murray would do anything there while George Bush resided at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Discussions for a future season have been promised.
I don't understand why the show hasn't come to Atlanta yet. It's the largest city in the south with millions of people, a beautiful skyline, tons of history and an exciting nightlife. I could see them living in a penthouse in midtown and going to bars/clubs like Halo, Cosmo, Primal or even Flip Flops which is owned by Ace (RW Paris) and Cohutta (RW Sydney).
Not sure what their job would be, but not having the show in Atlanta would be a huge foul. If it's based upon the preferences of Mayor Shirley Franklin, then no need to worry because her term is up in a couple months!

I think it would be great if it came to Atlanta. Atlanta has great nightlife, etc. I've hearing for a while now that Mayor Shirley Franklin does not want the show to be filmed here. She didn't like the way they depicted people or something like that. I think the Real World producers have expressed interest in filming it in Atlanta sometime. So hopefully it will be filmed here after Mayor Shirley Franklin is done her term. with
Sharon or Jacinda were from London.
Sharon was from London as was Neil, I believe. Jacinda was Australian. After the London season they basically ditched the having a local in the foreign country idea.

I know I have the 95 Reunion on tape somewhere I should post it on YouTube. If I do I will let you guys know ASAP. London got no love but the dynamics between the casts was great especially between Tami and Heather. I liked how they filmed that reunion because before they did the reunion they showed the footage of the different castmembers mingling and it was very interesting.
On a side note, The Real World 2000 is on YouTube. It is very similiar in format to the 1995 reunion sans the different casts mingling.

I think an Atlanta season would be great. There has to be a reason why the show hasnt taken place there so it could be the mayor against the show. But really, have blacks been portrayed that poorly on this show? I think they showcase blacks in a relatively positive light. Look at Jasmine, Stephen, Janelle, Shavonda, Jacquese, Irulan, Alton, Nicole, Coral, Malik, and so on these castmembers have been portrayed rather well and not negative at all.

I don't think blacks have been portrayed that poor at all. Most of them have been portrayed very well. I think the mayor doesn't like the way the people of Atlanta are portrayed on TV, or something like that.
What I don't understand is how the mayor is okay with the Real Housewives of Atlanta being filmed there, but she's not okay with The Real World? I think that RW would portray Atlanta a lot better than that show, because RW usually focuses on the good aspects of the city and as long as the citizens aren't vehemently opposed to the filming (see: Austin and Danny's black eye), the citizens are portrayed well also.

That's what I don't understand too. College Hill was filmed here(well in Decatur, but still) not too long ago. I think Mayor Shirley Franklin may have a personal dislike for MTV. I can't wait till her term is over, so MTV can come.

This rumor was debunked at some point in the first few pages of this thread.
The truth is, MTV has just not wanted to go to Atlanta to film The Real World as of yet. Actually, Athens or Savannah would be much more likely IMHO...

I agree that they may actually want to do it in Savannah. It's one of the most pretty cities in Georgia. Also on the BMP site, I saw they said they were recruiting via email in some cities, and Savannah was one of them. Atlanta wasn't on the list, so I think there could be a big possibility it could be done in Savannah first.

Ugh. Real World Savannah? Or even worse, Real World Athens? Those are cool cities but the cast would grow bored with them after a week.
Atlanta would be a much better choice because the city is a like liberal oasis in the mostly conservative dessert of the South, there are a diverse group of people here, and again, more things for the cast to do. It would be great for people in other parts of the country to see what the "new" South is all about.
Since the mayor myth has been debunked, there most be some other reason why they haven't filmed in Atlanta yet ... Shoot, there are big budget movies and TV shows filmed here all the time. Why are you avoiding us Bunim-Murray? lol

I think most of the cast members you listed (Jasmine excluded in part because her season isn't done, and I think Malik and Jacquese seemed to be shown as chill, likeable guys for the most part) could be seen as having had some negative behaviors/aspects of their personalities shown. And I think they are remembered in large part for those negatives. At least, if you just go off of their portrayals on their seasons. I think opinions can differ from message board to message board, from viewer to viewer, and from ethnicity/race. I think some people of ethnic backgrounds can be more critical of people of their ethnicity/race, and that can be a part of the negative views of some of these cast members. Some people do feel most black cast members have been stereotyped in negative ways. I have read a lot of negative comments about some of the mentioned cast members over the years.
