Degrassi: The Next Generation

I used to watch it alot, but haven't watched it lately. I remember when Drake used to be on the show.

I was like "Every time I see "Drake" all I can think of is "Hey that's Jimmy Brooks from Degrassi"! He's so not "hard"... I haven't watched it in YEARS but I used to! Last time I watched regularly was when Darcy first came on the show I think. I was shocked when I read some months later that JT was killed!! That sucked :(

Spinner had Cancer, Darcy got raped, Manny and Jay were together. Mia's baby daddy was revealed, omg it was soo good! Oh and I miss JT! I bawled like a baby when he got stabbed. You must catch up! lol.

I watched until the start of season 8. It's just a completely different show at this point. I can't follow it anymore.

I love degrassi, but i liked the earlier seasons much better. Now they are bringing so many new cast members into it, and it does get extremely confusing and hard to follow. I'll probably end up watching Degrassi goes to Hollywood because it is more about the earlier cast members like Craig, Marco, Paige, Manny, Emma, Jay, and Ellie. I miss Sean, he should definatly come back. And, i love Spinner.

It'll take some time for me to really get into season 8. They have so many different story-lines and cast members, it's too much.

They have already played the episodes in Canada so I just watched them online when they came out. Oh and if anybody cares the-n is playing the episode where JT dies tonight at 11.

From a Google search on season 9. I did not write this: "Also, I was watching Nina's Last Day on-set video again and during the filming shots Peter looked too happy for Mia, I know he's probably cheating on her or something. I just have a strange feeling about this, especially since the episode is titled "Just Can't Get Enough." For those who don't know yet, Marco will be making an appearance in season 9. Kelly will be in season 9 so I'm pretty sure Emma will be present as well. A few days ago they were debating whether they should change the music to the theme song as they were shooting new inserts to the opening sequence. Also, I think season 9 will be focusing on basketball as the main sport. Why do I get the feeling that Derek, KC and that Reese kid will be on the same team..? Raymond cut his hair!!! He looks so much better. I like his outfit too. (Depth, I know you like this lol) Wow, Aislinn (Clare) looks pretty outside of her character. This is the first time seeing Sam (KC) out with the gang. Why does Jamie look like Peter back in season 6?! He needs to change up his hairstyle. Melinda & Charlotte look nice as usual :)"

Looks like season 9 will suck. Ugh.

OMG......I LOVVVVVVVE degrassi!!! The new characters are okay, (I'm really liking Ali, but the others are meh) but I totally miss all the oldie but goodies like Ellie, Marco, Paige, Jimmy (Drake...PFFTTT), Ashley, etc. What are your favorite episodes? I think what bothers me is that the new characters weren't integrated into the show slowly enough. It was literally as if you turned on the show one day and it was a bunch of new kids....very bizarre. It just cut off! We'll never find out if Paige is HIV positive (remember they made a big deal about it taking 6 months?) or the ends of a bunch of other storylines. It sucks. Back when I used to have the-n I'd watch the old school episodes (from the 80s) late at night. Has anyone ever seen that version? It's really good. SO "after school special" but good. Snake, Spike, Joey and Claire are all pimply teens and it's hilarious.

I've never seen the episodes from the 80's, seems like they'd be interesting though.

Back in the day, I used to be OBSESSED with Degrassi. Season 2,3,4 and 7 are my favorites. I know 7 has more of the newer characters but I really liked the Darcy and Spinner storylines. And to be honest, I really don't mind some of the lakehurst kids (Johnny, Bruce, Lucas, Jane) but some of the others (Holly J, Sav, and Anya) are lame. And I hate Danny & Derek. I can't stand how the new characters are reincarnated versions of the old characters. Jay-Johnny Ellie- Jane Johnny's crew- Jay's crew Clair & Alli- Emma & Manny Toby & JT- KC & Conner Holly J- Paige My favorite episodes have to be Rock & Roll High School (Ashley & Craig battle of the bands thing), The one where Jimmy (Drake pffffftttt) got shot, and JT's death and the episode after it. I hate how the older characters have the sucky storylines now. I miss Craig.
