So could I. Honestly, The Island 2 wouldn't be bad, if they just modified it completely.
I think it would have been better if they did actual missions instead of just sitting around all day.

For the Island 2, I think they should have an island of 12 people. Prior to each mission, everyone votes for a person who they want to be a captain for the next round. (For the first mission, the top 2 people with the most votes are captains) Then, captains pick teams and the teams participate in a mission. The winning team captain has to pick 2 people from the losing team (can't pick losing team captain), and everyone votes on which of the two people should stay/be voted off. The winning team captain stays captain and the losing team captain is replaced with another team captain. New teams are picked. However, the catch is, that once the number of people gets down to 8, the host (anyone but TJ) reveals that there is another island, which also started with 12 participants. And NOW, the challenge becomes Island 1 vs. Island 2, with players eliminated until only 1 remains. So it's like the think they're just competing against 11 other people, but there are 12 other people starting in the game, and they won't even know who they are until the are like 1/3 of the way through.
Everyone was talking about how no one would participate if there were to be an Island 2 and it made me think of this question... Do the cast members know what the challenge is (Duel, Inferno, etc) before agreeing to do it or do they not find out till they get to the challenge location?
I think they know because Mark said he knew that Duel 2 was was the challenge before he went.
I think they know because Mark said he knew that Duel 2 was was the challenge before he went.
Not everybody knows. The cast didn't know what the challenge was in Thailand.
I think they know because Mark said he knew that Duel 2 was was the challenge before he went.
Mark is a different story altogether. Some things they know, some things they don't and it often depends on who you are and what Challenge it is. I remember with The Island, some cast members commented to me after the fact that they got most of their information from here before they left.

Yeah I figured it was different with Mark because he said he would only come back if it was an individual challenge with no teams.

Do the cast members know what the challenge is (Duel, Inferno, etc) before agreeing to do it or do they not find out till they get to the challenge location?
I think they know some of the format because it is written in the contract. In the contract, the name of the challenge is not actually the real name. Like for the Island, the contract name was "Escape from Ghost Island" and for the Ruins, it was "The Pit". So I think they know a good bit about what the challenge is, before they participate.
I actually prefer them not giving any insight to what Challenge it is, just so that they can't fully prepare. But I would understand in Mark's case.
Yeah me too. I want to challengers to be surprised when they see the challenge.
I can understand some cases, like if they wanted a cast member badly, yet they wouldn't do it without knowing the format, etc.
So could I. Honestly, The Island 2 wouldn't be bad, if they just modified it completely.
I agree. If they're going to do another Island challenge then they need to change the format of the challenge.
Why does everyone hate Inferno 3? I didnt think it was as bad as Fresh Meat, The Island or either of the Duels.
Inferno 3 wasn't one of the greats to me, but I also would put it ahead of The Island (which I saw bits and pieces of episodes and daily clips), both Duels, and Gauntlet 3 as well. I was just so upset with a lot on G3, and it's a challenge I don't think I want to watch again. At least, not now.

"Trim the fat" was funny. But I think the main "fat" that should have been trimmed was Eric.
"Trim the fat" was funny. But I think the main "fat" that should have been trimmed was Eric.
Exactly. It was so funny to me when they were talking about how they were getting rid of the "weaker" people but yet they ended up getting rid of some of their strongest players. They trimmed NO fat (well they got rid of Casey so that counts I guess). But Yeah the Vets sucked that season.
I doubt I'll ever watch Gauntlet 3 or The Island again. That's how much I disliked them. I'm planning on watching Inferno 3 again, only because I don't remember it at all.
I started watching Inferno 3 again as well. The missions were good, or at least decent (usually I do like the missions for the Inferno series). Although most of the people from earlier in the RW/RR series were on the GG team, the cast had a decent mix of older, mid, and newer people on the cast (at least, for this time period in challenge history). I just think some drama got repetitive and a little monotonous, and I think perhaps their weren't a lot of people who really made you want to root for them just from this show. The people who were supposed to be sweet showed a different side to themselves (the GG team in general didn't come across like the one in I2). Some of the really good competitors seemed to be kind of phoning it in. There wasn't a lot of fun times shown from what I remember. Lots of complaining/whining going on in this one as well.

The Inferno 3 had a decent cast but it was one of the worst challenges to date.
For me, the earliest challenges through to Inferno 2 were really good or really exciting, with Battle then afterwards they took a little dive. Gauntlet 2 and Fresh Meat had some good things going for them, but were not at the level of the prior challenges IMO. Then from there is the lower level in which The Duel through Duel 2 are for me. I think I do like Inferno 3 the best out of that lower level of challenges. I still like watching the challenges because I like seeing an "update" on the cast - how they look, how they have changed, etc. I also like to see who will end up being friends with each other, and I do like seeing the competitions. They are still good for some interesting drama every now and then as well. But I guess I shouldn't really expect for the shows to be as good as they used to be anymore. However, each challenge is a different cast, with different circumstances, so you never know how much you might enjoy it.
I think that The Duel 1 was as good as the first and second Gauntlet/Infernos.
I loved The Duel 1.
I think both Duels were really good.
The Island 2 would also be good if it was half hour episodes.
What are some potential dream fights between castmembers that you'd like to see or wish you could've seen on past challenges? On Inferno 2, I think it would've been interesting to see the Brad/Mike fight escalate a little more had Landon not been there to intervene. Also on Inferno 3, I think Tyrie & CT would've been a pretty sweet fight when Tyrie questioned him after hitting Davis but that never really came to fruition either.
I really thought CT and Kenny were going to fight on I3 after Kenny gave his a bloody nose. On I2, Abram vs. Darrel.
It would have been funny to see Katie cuss out Jo when Jo was having her meltdown on Gauntlet 2. Also, Tori and Aneesa would have been hilarious if it had escalated further.
