Well as we all now know Jon & Kate have filed for divorce!
What is the fate of their show now?
How can they ever date anyone again with having 8 kids?
When did Jon get his ears pierced cause it looks dumb!!
I feel so bad for the kids, and personally think that they should have quit the show to focus on their failing marriage.
I have a feeling that they can turn this into many shows. As it seems like everything they do is for the money.
One season all about the divorce and how the family adjusts
And then a few seasons about the whole single parent, lets switch off living in the house thing that I don't see working out for very long.
I don't watch this show, but I am familiar with the story/concept as it is hard to avoid right now. Having said that, I think it's a terrible, sad thing that this has become so public. Jon and Kate both have their faults, but I think the whole story is just too personal and over-exposed. I think they (or someone) should make a decision to stop filming this. Its become downright uncomfortable to watch.
I didn't watch, but this was the expect result. This practically got more play on CNN then the Iran situation, which goes to show the said state of affairs at news organizations these days.
I think this was expected, I mean throughout the whole show I think they may have kissed once, hugged twice, and said I love maybe 5 times. They never really talked....unless it was about the kids. I think it was more of a parternership....in a business way more than a marriage parternership. That's just how I see it.
I have watched since the beginning of the series and remember when they were a happy couple! Kate has always nitpicked Jon but seemed like a unified couple. As I say that, last season it was noticeable that a rift had started between them because the fighting was more apparant and common.
After watching last night's show, I am not so sure how the living situation is going to work!! Those kids are to young to realize what is going on but will catch on soon enough! The kids are going to end up more screwed up with the parents alternating living in the house.

Yeah,I don't think the living situation that they decided to do will work out.We can just hope for the best for their kids.

At the very least, there will be a sizable trust fund set aside from the show for the kids (if they are properly managing their money.)
They are reported to get up to $75,000 per episode (x 20 episodes = 1.5 million per season.)
I never really watched the show until this controversy started, but think if I was going to choose a side it would be Jon's - as Kate is absolutely relentless! I get the impression he is the one that wants the divorce (although I don't know enough about the situation.)

Let me start by saying, I do not condone cheating. But I have watched this show since the start- and I don't blame Jon one but if he did cheat. And I think a divorce is the best thing for them. Sure, anything at this point will have an impact on the kids- but those three little boys need to see their daddy be a man, and he never was with Kate.
On a funnier note- everytime my husband goes shopping, I love to scream at him to use the coupons!!!!!!!!

Me too NAL!!! I think every woman who has seen that episode says that to her husband.

You would hope so since all Kate talks about is her kids! Also this season is going to be 40 episodes! Plus that new house was just under $1.5 million; so who knows how much money is left!
I think it's really sad that less than a year ago they went to Hawaii to renew their vows and tell their kids over and over that Mommy and Daddy are staying together forever. Renewing your vows is like having a baby... doing it isn't going to fix your relationship. You do them AFTER you've fixed your relationship!
TLC stopped production on the show...no new eppy's til august...I wonder if that will be the divorce court special.
Well just last month they also announced they ordered 40 more episodes! That's just ridiculous to me...

I used to watch this when the series first came out but now its too much. The TV show tore them apart. I know people who cried watching the trailers, true story!
But seriously... how many families that have done these reality shows have stayed together? Off the top of my head I can only think of one....
Just watching the Barkers on tv I never would have thought they'd split.. they were so cute together!

Who are the Darkers? (I feel like I should already know this, LOL)
The Duggars haven't divorced yet...that is the only one I can name :D

Oh the Duggars...I always felt bad for Michelle being the only one without a "J" first name. She is the one freakin' popping them out! Why not honor her and give all the kids "M" names?
The Osbournes haven't either, but I think they have gone through way more heavy stuff than surviving cameras following you around.
But really, there is already a higher divorce rate in parents of multiples so they had the odds against them to start with. Plus, they were young when they got married and started a family, another strike against them. If they hadn't done the show they would probably be divorced by now anyway from all the financial strain they most likely would have felt.
Now they are divorced but they have some nice trust funds set up for the kids, they have their colleges paid for, they can afford private school education for them, a house big enough where they don't have to squish kids in a few rooms and live comfortably in a time of economic crisis.
I'm not saying it's awesome that they are sitting pretty and their family is torn apart, but it does seem a better alternative then living in an unhappy marriage and struggling to pay the bills and feed the kids.

The Barkers, lol.
Travis Barker (blink 182's drummer) and Shana Moakler (Is that her last name?). I loved their show.

I believe that breaks their last record of 9.8ish for their premier. Very impressive indeed.

Oops, typo, :D But yeah I know what you mean, I thought they were a pretty good pair...just goes to show the power of editing, LOL. (you got the name right)
Guess they have been living apart for years...
So the whole thing is a fraud? Probably just stayed together for the television show payday.

When did they move out of their tiny house? Sorry, I haven't watched it in awhile. I thought they were still living in the house that had one bedroom for the six kids lol.

Apparently, she checked both boxes in case Jon does not agree that the marriage is broken; cause if he doesnt then the divorce could last for 2 years!
TLC confirmed they have not lived apart until here recently!!
Also show update, NO new episodes until August 3rd!! Even though they have already filmed enough for 40 episodes and only shown 6 of those. This summer they are going to film newer segments following the divorce to add into the exsisting episodes!!

Kate told People (this week's edition) that he came to her and told her he had a lawyer and she should get one too. She also said divorce is something she would have never done.
That being said, she seems to be the one that filed the papers after what 'Jon did over the weekend" - to protect her family (Jon sniped back.) I have a feeling this is going to get ugly and fast.
