One question: how did Meredith get George from him writing 007 on her hand? I was wondering why she freaked out so badly.
In season 1, he was given the nickname 007, or licensed to kill, by the others after a rough first surgery (he was actually the first intern given a chance to work on a patient.)

Ok but that was soooooo long ago how were us viewer's to remember that!! Boo.
Ok, here we go. Maybe I'm just looking at this the wrong way, but I did not see last night as a cliffhanger, I saw it as George and Izzie both died, so i'm going to write my response to this ep as if they did.
What? You can't do that! :D
Back to 007 -
Oh....and after he got that nickname in the same episode (I think it was the same one) he saved a guy in the elevator and redeemed himself (it was stuck between floors.)
If you're going to kill her, do it halfway through the episode and get it over with, then let us have some closure watching everyone else deal with it. (Maybe that's just me).
I agree. If she died during the surgery, fine. However, to have her survive, then get her memory back and then two seconds later after delivering a line, flatline, was very wrong.
p.s. And yes, it was Denny part 2.
Oh something else that ****** me off, I'm on a roll today ;)
From the Writer's Blog after last week's episode....
First, a warning: this is our last blog of the season. It's also our last podcast and today will be my last tweets of the season.
We're going dark, people.
Why? Because next week's episodes (two in one night) are so explosive and cliff-hanger-y that we, the writers, have all agreed that we can't even talk about them. For fear of giving anything away. We honestly can't say a word....
So this is the last you will hear from us until next season. -Shonda Rhimes

Cowards, much?
Straight from the Ausiello Files...
Yes. And I don't know that you should be saying "which one of them lives and which one of them dies." I know what happens to the characters.
Um...that sounds ominous...
I'll be straight - I don't like how Shonda came off in that interview.
Me either. I'm a huge fan of Grey's, but not Shonda.

George. I also have no idea how Mer got "George" from 007. And I thought about it people, I thought about it. Unexpected? Hell yeah, especially with the double whammy that was Izzie. Now, realistically....would he have been brought in and NO ONE knew it was him? NO. He must have had ID on him, a wallet, his backpack, something, and in the real world when stuff like that goes down the first thing the paramedics to do is survey the street to see who this person that just got hit was, where his wallet is, etc....I know it's a show, but that's just so far ****** fetched.
So you are telling me the paramedics would have loaded him up in that condition and then said...wait here...we will be right back we need to canvas the area and find out who you are? I am guessing that his wallet and the majority of his clothes were all ripped off from being dragged under the bus. And that his injuries were so severe they were more worried about keeping him alive the who he is.
Also George referred to himself as 007 in this very episode which is why I had no problem understanding it was him. and that is where the crybaby came out of me. I could not hold it back...I have never cried that hard over a stupid fake TV show. LOL
I don't think either one of them are going to die. I think that is why T.R. shaved his head recently...to go along with healing from all that type of face/brain trauma and the recovery of it. I think Izzie is going to come back but she will come back a different person in some ways. I don't think she will lose her memory, I jsut think some parts of her personality will change...for the worse. I am thinking a darker Izzie...but not as bad as when Denny died.

Ok you're right, I forgot about the whole being dragged by the bus *cringe*. And no, of course the paramedics would have got him off right away, but it would seem like they would have tried harder to find out who he was. I guess I'm not thinking clearly because I'm just shocked, and bitter :p
When did he refer to himself as 007? I must have missed it.
If Izzy dies, you might as well write Alex off as well.
I can't go through another Izzy/Denny episode with Alex this time. Her character had a full season of wasted, mopey episodes IMHO...

I must've missed it as well.
By the way: Ausiello has both George AND Izzie as possible, not confirmed, fatalities. Leaving open hope perhaps?

ummm I think it was either when he was talking to Owen...or to Bailey. I am going to have to re-watch but I am telling you the second she repeated 007 I literally yelped and the waterworks started. I am making such a big deal about crying because that is just not who I am the only time I cry is when I am pissed (like Arizona, LOL).
I am shcoked and bitter as well.
I'll be straight - I don't like how Shonda came off in that interview.
I've never met the woman, but Shonda Rhimes seems like such a self-important snob in a lot of her interviews. She is a good writer, but come on -- Grey's Anatomy isn't Shakespeare. She's either completely delusional or just a little too pretentious.
The end of the finale was very good, but by the time September rolls around, I don't think I'll particularly care if either of them live or die. :x
