I was waiting for someone to play dirty on one of the duels! Yeah Eric!!..Going back to the Robin and Kim Duel I would have dragged her and pushed her around and made my way up the pole..[[I play duurrty!]]..I was starting to think you couldn't have any other physical contact except stepping on the other person's hand *yawn*..
I liked that too Ms. Dynasty. Finally somebody had the balls to go all out.
Insider, I just think that they are too big of guys to be able to perform that weill in a Challenge like that.

It was funny watching Easy push Derek like a ragdoll though..Even when they both were tired and like *** it Eric KEPT PUSHING DEREK..It was like Eric was saying "My *** is tired but i'd be ****** if i'll let you make it to the top" lol it was hilarious to watch..
I like Big Easy despite The Gauntlet 3. I think he gives his all.
Kim vs. Jenn was lackluster to what I expected would happen.
Yea same here..I also wish that Dunbar chose Paula so we could see her and Kim in the Duel..I think Kim would have won that [[or I'd hope lol]] but it would have never happened because Dunbar's a man of his word i suppose..
I think they keep Big Easy around as comic relief..The challenge where all the guys were on the ropes and had to shake each other off was funny..I mean look at the way his arms moved! it was funny [[and so was Evan's commentary]]
Btw im getting sick of Evan's commentary after basically anything happens..a lot of times its funny, but when its not then it could be edited out lol
I think Kim would of won a duel versus Paula, so I am quite sad Dunbar didn't sway his vote that way. Ah well.
Paula annoys me and she is probably the one female I hate the most on these shows. Kim is definitely my favorite.
After drooling over Landon for about 20 minutes, I realized the Pole Dancing duel was kinda lame. Makes me look forward to next week because I thought Dunbar can beat Dereck. I never really regarded Dereck as that good, I mean, it took him quite some time to beat Big Easy in a climbing challenge lol

I mean Big Easy may not be that athletic but he still has a lot of weight on him and a nudge could have Derek on the other side of New Zealand in an instant..
But I wasnt into Kim that much on her season.."okay, no need to get ghetto" I was like LOL but at the same time, OMG! but I mean the editors show what they want and I came to rather enjoy watching Kim overall..I don't neccesarily hate paula, I just think she feeds into the character MTV has built for her..Paula is agressive man!! "Just say my name already" I was like ****, no wonder Dunbar won't lay you, he's afraid you'll put his *** on a lifetime warranty"

If Derek/Eric switched duel games with Kim/Jenn then it might have been a different story I think. It would serve him well to lose weight and get into better shape...I believe he could be a serious competitor if he did. Kim really was impressive in the Duel and generally I never disliked her that much so I can give her credit. Paula...just...she can be too much to handle sometimes I'll just say. But I can always give her a second chance.
Once again the foreshadowing on this show sucks, you pretty much knew it was going to be either Derek or Easy going home in the first 5 minutes. I hope to see more of Derek though, I know absolutely nothing about him at this point.
Yeah, the lousy editing is ruining this season. So predictable, no real storylines.
I'm so sick of Diem it's not even funny.
Her squealing and horrible sense of fashion is driving me nuts. She needs to get it together.
Fair enough. I do also give her points for the fact that unlike some of the vets there, she wasn't whining and crying about going into Duels. She had the right attitude.
Kim is probably my fav this season. Strong girl, great haircut! Glad she's not dating Dunbar. Sad to see her go.

Jenn's a beast! Love how she's not whining about going in to the duel. She just kicks ***.

That's Paula, our resident trainwreck/drama queen.

OMG, that's hilarious.
This is a cool question. I wish I had better data available, but here we go...
According to MySpace:
Brittini - 5'10"
Jenn - 5'3"
Rachel - 5'6"
Paula - 5'5"
*Tori - 5'8" or 5'9" (Brad's myspace says he's 6'0" and she's not significantly shorter than him)
Question: With all other things held constant, would height be an advantage in this challenge? Yes, due to body length and arm length. Arm length is correlated to height. Taller means longer arms, longer arms (and taller) means longer reach. For every inch height difference, there's generally an additional .3 to .4 inches in arm length. If there really is a 7-inch height difference between Brittini (who is catching flak on this site) and Jenn (who made the comment about height in the episode), Jenn would be giving up 9 to 10 inches in reach to Brittini. If something is 9 inches more within my reach than yours, I can get a better grip on it and get better leverage to pull myself up (and if I'm taller, I probably also have slightly bigger hands, which would help, too). That's where the advantage lies.
However, there are disadvantages that often accompany height, so 'yes' is the answer to a hypothetical in which all other things are held constant. There are a number of other variables at play here, like weight, upper body strength, balance, fear of heights, basic maneuverability, and of course, strategy. Eric is taller than Landon and Brad, but he couldn't hold his own body weight. Aneesa is taller than Rachel and had that same problem. On that note, one could argue upper body strength and weight are more relevant in this challenge than height.
As for the perception of Tori and Rachel being strong while people claim Brittini had a height advantage... Tori lifted herself up the first seven rungs, she said. We see Rachel lifted herself a few times. From the first rung, Brittini used Landon as a step to get up. Could she have climbed up the way Tori and Rachel did? Probably (or maybe not, I don't know or care) but it would've taken longer and used up more energy. The way she and Landon did it doesn't make her look strong, but it was smarter and they took the win.
Oh wow thanks for the breakdown and the heights Cru. I didn't realize Rachel was only 5'6 she seems so much taller to me but maybe that's because on these challenges she always seems to be standing next to Jenn or Veronica who are both short. Nor did I know Brittini was quite so tall (I had her pegged at about 5'8). So it would seem Tori/Brad were the team that most utilized the female partner's height and strength to their benefit (though that ultimately hurt them time wise) while Landon/Brit and Rachel/Mark had a better overall strategy that expended less energy (for the females) and did not require a height advantage (which is why the 4 inch height difference between Brit and Rachel would not prove to be an extreme advantage for Brit). Still, a smarter strategy and strong partner doesn't necessarily negate Brittini's physical strength, all it means is that she hasn't been fully tested yet on a level playing field. Looking forward to when they go back to the individual challenges next week, that should start weeding people out more clearly.
I'll just say this now and get it over with... Brittini is a "coattails" player, both socially and physically. There is no point in building a shrine to her...
If she does another challenge facing really tough players, they will take her out quickly and we'll all be saying "Brittini who?"

LOL. That reminds me of Veronica and a certain RR season where she was the first to go.

****, guess I'll be putting my candles and altar up for auction on ebay then :rip:
IDK, I think she isn't proven and it is without doubt that she has had an easy road this time around but I still am not ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I know you've got the inside track V1, but she wouldn't be the first challenge player to get better with time and ultimately establish themselves as something of a powerhouse. I think she has the capabilities physically and she seems likeable so I'd like to see her on the next challenge and see what she does that's all I'm saying.

I believe she really lucked out getting Landon as a partner. The dailies show that he has her training with him everyday. Landon takes this very seriously and I think he would expect the same of his partner. Had she not gotten Landon as her partner, this probably would have been a whole different game for her.

Oh, anything is possible, but honestly if she were to face Jodi, Evelyn or Beth today in just about any past 1-v-1 comp I can recall, her life expectancy would be short lived.

Alright, but just to be clear I said I thought she was one of the strongest on this challenge - but yeah if you threw her up against the best female players in challenge history that'd be a whole other story. But I think she could take out more than half the girls that came on this challenge one on one. That's just what I think, and even in Mark's interview he said
"Brittini was never a target because I think the girls were a bit intimidated by her. In this case, it didn’t matter that she was a rookie. It mattered that she was a strong competitor. . ."

Paula, Ryan, and Brooke seemed to acknowledge she was a good competitor, better than they thought she'd be and Brooke (grain of salt moment I know) said that Brit seems to be naturally good at everything. Now obviously you have more of an inside track than I do but all I mean to say is that I think she is underestimated. I've said a million times she lucked out getting Landon no doubt, but she is certainly an above average competitor and on this particular season she is one of the strongest all around players (combining strength, intelligence, social game).
Can't say I'm as devoted to or passionate about Brittini as tj is to Evan lol but I don't mind defending her, coattail rider (which in and of itself is a smart strategy anyways) or not.

Ahh touche' I agree with that..But I like Big Easy's fluff.. If he came back all buff and stuff I'd wonder who the ***** this new guy and what is he capable of but it seems like he kinda takes the game seriously so he may shock us..He may even be a new hearthrob on the challenges!! But I digress..
I spoke to Colie about her inappropriate behavior...talking about having a boyfriend while canoodling with Dunbar. ( I also asked her *** were you thinking). She told me it was photo shopped and edited. She wasn't even on that Island. As her mother I totally believe her!

Since when did you decide it was ok to let the foxes guard the hen house? I thought we already had this conversation, lol. ;)
p.s. Did you get the SAT scores I had forwarded along with my resume and 6 job references? I just sent out my income tax forms for the last 5 years today, so they should be there next week.

Eric seems like a fun guy but I'm not sure he could be a serious competitor. I only say that because he's done 4 challenges and we have yet to see him competitive. His advantage in this arena has always been having 60+ lbs on the next guy down (which is no small thing) and he has yet to truly throw that weight around. If he can't do anything with that kind of advantage, taking the weight away would only leave him worse off.

Binary, I get what you're saying about Brittini, and I pretty much agree with you. Yes, she absolutely lucked up with Landon as a partner - he is an amazing competitor time and time again - but Brittini has done a decent job in her efforts. She hasn't been a detriment to Landon at all so far. She's stayed composed in missions and has worked well with Landon. Evan is someone who is a strong competitor, yet aside from the luge mission, him being paired with Diem hasn't helped him to do super well the way Landon and Mark have done well with Brittini and Rachel.
Landon also said in a radio interview that he was scoping out the girls to see who might be athletic when everyone met up to fly out to New Zealand, and he asked to partner with Brittini because he felt she was a good pick. So interesting to note that Landon himself thought something of her ability to compete before they even started. I was surprised to hear that he looked at her and thought "athletic," because she's just tall and slim. Because from appearance only, I wouldn't think she's necessarily athletic. However, I know that being muscular or athletic does not mean that you will automatically do well in missions.

It's probably worth noting, though, that some of the other girls were already spoken for in terms of partners, so Landon's options were probably a bit limited to begin with. I think Brittini is fine, but she hasn't really done anything to lead me to believe that she's significantly better than a run-of-the-mill decent challenge competitor. If she had been in the duel three times like Kim, I think her luck might have run out by now.
I'm surprised Landon didn't pick Ruthie, though. She didn't seem to be in with the group this time, and I remember he seemed to have a lot of respect and liking for her on G2 (I remember him saying that he hoped they could be on the same team next time when she left G2). Maybe he thought her being a small person might be a factor, though. Plus Brittini was an unproven competitor, so it's still surprising to me he just seeked her out.
I don't think she's incredible, but I don't think she's really weak, either, and I think she has held her own decently compared to the other competitors on this challenge.
Really, though, IMO, the way most of these challenges have been set up for the past few years, I don't think they have allowed for much of a good gauge of who ranks above who, player for player, aside from a few players just doing extremely well and standing out in some missions. Too many team/partner missions or not showing times or whatever. Standouts like Mark, Landon, CT, Ruthie, etc have competed in the past where there were missions helped determine things like that better. Now if seems if you aren't the winner of the mission for sure, it's not so easy to tell just how well you did in relation to the others. Just my thoughts.
