As far far as starting the Dunbar/Kim, I thought that coming from people that were actually on the show was a valid source, I wasnt trying to start rumors or trouble.
As far far as starting the Dunbar/Kim, I thought that coming from people that were actually on the show was a valid source, I wasnt trying to start rumors or trouble.
There was nothing wrong with what you wrote. I'm glad you point it out so I could correct the record. I simply disagree with Jenn and Ryan.
Mark specifically stated that he and Rachel were not going to make a list, leaving it up to the only pair they saved - Landon and Brit - to continue on from there.
My interpretation was they probably knew their alliance of 10 would be at the top of the order and they'd leave it to Dunbar, Paula, Derek, Kim, Eric, Jenn, Isaac and Ruthie to figure out the bottom of the order amongst themselves. From the dailies, it seemed like everyone knew the picking order right down to Kim, and the question was whether it would be Isaac and Ruthie or Dunbar and Paula left out.
Wow, I guess I'm glad I missed all the shenanigans last night. Thanks to whoever posted those comments from Ruthie (blanky?) those were hilarious. Yeah maybe Ruthie does hold a grudge, but coming from someone who has spent a few of her dailies talking about a 2 month relationship that ended 7 years ago, I take it with a grain of salt. I could also see how Ruthie could be annoyed if they had a friendship going into it and an agreement the night before. Anessa reminds me of Tina - talk big to cover up for your own weakness. None of the four people that went into the Duel I wanted to go home so that sucked but it was nice to see Kim chanel her inner "demon" unlike Brooke who just laid down. As soon as Isaac kept going on about his toenail you just knew he was going to call Landon out, who the heck grows out their toenails like that, that's just gross. Isaac's comment about calling******* out when he sees them was pretty funny. What's with all the Lando hate though from Ruthie, Isaac and Dunbar? I'm curious, it couldn't just be about the toenail. Normally Evan kind of makes me skin itch but I was **** during the challenge (which was really good btw) when he dropped Diem. I would've dropped that broad too, she has one of those voices that almost make you want to ram your head into a brick wall. And the evil smile on his face afterwards was pretty priceless.
Jesus christ who is editing these episodes? It is completely obvious who is going home 5 minutes into the episode EVERY time.
It is really bad... Yes, I had an idea who was going home going in, but they didn't have to telegraph it 38 seconds into the show to the point that it was almost moot to continue watching. They should take a cue from Survivor as they have at least two cast member "showcases" running in each episode and mix it up so that you know who the candidates are, but it can go either way (and they sometimes outsmart me!)
I find it rather foolish to argue with someone that you do not even know and probably will never know either... anyways The Duel 2 isn't that good in my opinion. I thought it was going to be this huge ,intense, drama-filled, show but so far it has proven me wrong. Is it just the editing that stinks? Because they made the eliminations pretty obvious from the very first 10 minutes of the episode. I say fire the person who ever does these ****** edits and hire somebody good. Hopefully the show will get better. I love Ruthie, it was sad to see her go.
I compelely agree. They always show the person who is going home in the first 10 minutes of the show, with everyone giving confessionals about their opinions of them. They did it with Brooke, and now with Isaac.
I'm curious, what kind of drama would you like to see or what kind of drama were you looking forward to seeing in this challenge?
ANYTHING. As much as we might not want to admit it, that's the main reason most people watch these reality shows, for the drama. Arguements, Katie, something. But over the past few episodes the only drama we have had is over the stupid list, which as far as I know didn't even EXIST on the first Duel. Or atleast not as much.
Just saw the episode. I agree about the editing--in addition to making it completely obvious who is going home, I feel like other things have been unclear. At this point one could probably infer a lot about the partner thing, but I don't think we ever got a flat-out, clear explanation of what was going on with the cast members pairing up in these seemingly concrete dyads. And the last section with Tori and Brad seemed very confusing to me--Tori made a mistake? What was her mistake? She ended up calling the name she was supposed to. I was totally confused. Also, when she said she thought she and Brad were a team, Brad sounded confused and said, "I don't know what made you think that," which seems...wrong. I have to think there was something else going on in that conversation that I am just missing. Granted, I haven't watched the dailies yet; maybe they would be more clarifying. At any rate, I know Brad has more challenge experience, but I thought Tori had a good point--it's the people at the bottom who decide who is going into the duel, and I think it's become apparent that the people at the bottom havbe no problem calling people off the top of "the list." Gaining the ire of the very people who are about to choose someone to call in might not be the best way to do things. I don't know why Brad seemed to think her points were wholly without merit. I totally understood where she was coming from, and even if she was wrong, she was making sense. The challenge could have been a lot of fun, but it ended up being sort of meh. Holding someone above a canyon is, I think, just not as dynamic as production was thinking it would be, and it ended up getting edited down to almost every pair having the exact same interaction.

Certainly you are entitled to your opinion about what "people" may think, but absent some empirical evidence to support your position, it is nothing more than an opinion.

Ok, well maybe I should've put "most of us" somewhere in the post. I mean, just look at how many people still talk about the Katie vs. Veronica fiasco, or Brooke going psycho on her season. I just mean that a lot of people do tune in to these shows for the drama, that's all. Im aware that not everyone does, because sometimes it can be over the top. Just making a lighthearted observation. I apologize again for the other comment in the beginning of the thread. Im still trying to get used to the "flow" of the board. Jumping from three different message boards(especially when one of them is Survivor Sucks), I get a little got up in the way I type some of my posts, lol. But again I apologize.
Man, they really need to do a better job at editing. It was SO obvious this episode! I want to at least be a little surprised, but with all the talk they show about the list and the focus they put on the people going home there is almost no really reason to finish watching unless the challenge really intrigues you. I love Isaac and Ruthie and was sad to see them go. Kim is definitely proving herself, nice job Kim! I can see why Isaac would pick Landon, he is similar in size, though definitely more muscular, and he cut off his baby! How ruuuude ;) Some of you guys are say he should have gone for Easy, but what if he got Push Over? He would have been LAUNCHED out of the Duel! I kinda wish they could just have running commentary from Isaac played over the Duel episodes now that he is gone. Add a little spice and laughter to the show...
It's easy to tell from the editing because sometimes the person going home had little to no screen time and then suddenly they highlight them as if they suddenly found the footage. Though I had a feeling Aneesa wouldn't pick Isaac so even without the editing I had a feeling Ruthie would be the last one picked. Isaac is just hilarious...it was a shame he wasn't featured more and now he is gone.....along with his toenail of power. And Ruthie...I thought would throw Kim around but Kim actually used a good strategy to win.
Does anyone know if there is a link between being Jewish and growing out your big toenail? The reason I ask is because I did TMI with a Jewish guy some years ago and his big toenail was really long. It totally weirded me out. That particular guy was weird in general, so I didn't think too much of it. When I saw that bit about Isaac last night, however, the memory of that guy came back.
It's easy to tell from the editing because sometimes the person going home had little to no screen time and then suddenly they highlight them as if they suddenly found the footage.
Exactly. I almost forgot Issac was on the challenge and then all of a sudden they open with him. It was an ominous sign...
Exactly. I almost forgot Issac was on the challenge and then all of a sudden they open with him. I was hoping that the toenail was some kind of joke that he played out to the very end but then again...you just don't know with that guy, LOL. I am going to miss him.

Even the Dont Let Go Dunbar and Paula were first because of Landon's picking order, bahaha. Isaac dislikes Landon because he cut Fernando, the long toenail Isaac grew out. Gross. I have no idea why Ruthie would dislike Landon with the exception that he sent home her partner. But I mean, really, Isaac should of picked an easier challenger.
Well, that was clearly the clincher that he was not long for the show, lol.
lol I know...every time they say that it's like the kiss of death. Curse you MJ! And Landon...knowing he might be called....clipped Isaac's toenail in an effort to weaken him so he could win. It all makes sense now.
While I consider Ruthie a little powerhouse and always really liked her, and in one on one challenges she really is pretty good - I was completely disappointed with her in the duel. Not only did Kim out smart her by hanging out in the corner where Ruthie's loop needed to be, she seemed asleep in there. Big props to Kim, who is probably my favorite female now =)
I still have not watched the episode, it wasnt posted on MTV yet last time I checked. I just wanted to comment on the Ruthie comments though...First of all, I love Ruthie, and a few years back she well out-performed Rachel. Rachel has always been overrated in my opinion. I know those comments make her look a little crazy, but try to put yourself in their shoes. I would be ****** too. In the heat of anger most of us get carried away.
Ruthie must have been ****** and that had to surface again having watched her own demise in the Duel. Kim went in there and took out Ruthie who did seem off her game a little. I'll give props to Kim...much respect to her. Now for her to instantly take back that respect next week :P
Dunbar dislikes Landon for two reasons - Landon is seemingly the powerhouse guy to beat, and when Landon wins challenges he makes Dunbar be the last person to be picked. I have no idea why Ruthie would dislike Landon with the exception that he sent home her partner. But I mean, really, Isaac should of picked an easier challenger.
Thanks. I understood the sort of glossy overlay of it I guess I just assumed there could be something more, after all Dunbar didn't seem to express nearly as much outrage towards Rachel and Mark, Evan or other people supposedly in the "power alliance" even though it isn't just Landon setting up the order. It seemed kind of personal especially when he referred to Brittini (I think it was Brittini) as a skeazebucket it made me think there was some other behind the scenes stuff going on. Rachel and Mark won and set up the order, not Landon, unless he is the one that told Anessa to pick MJ? And then Ruthie's comments added to my curiosity, it wasn't as though Landon was the one that called out Isaac it was the other way around. Isaac, yeah all that could just come down to a toenail but I don't totally believe that either, especially when he was giving his speech about*******. It could be just because he's a strong player but I thought maybe there is something more to it, IDK.
Ruthie has always been a solid competitor - but I don't think she is as powerful as she once was. She did not do very well in BOTS2 - I can remember Coral saying "We've been waiting for the mighty Ruthie to show up and she hasn't" and thats why they voted her off. I don't ever remember Ruthie going against Rachel so I think she's just shooting off her mouth. I think she is just upset that the game has changed since her day - the nice players dont make it until the end - you either have to be incredibly strong in every event or you need a solid alliance.
(T)hey never went head to head, but there was a points system that Ruthie topped, and Rachel was in the middle, maybe even closer to the bottom then the middle, I can not remember

Has the editing sucked so bad in a challenge? Ever?

Isaac as a 5' 5" Megatron? I just can't stop laughing at that thought. He certainly is as original as Coral, absent her occasional mean spirited commentary.
Does anyone know if there is a link between being Jewish and growing out your big toenail?
Well I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did...
His social skills and outside cast friendships kept him around. Since the Sydney season, he has done many club appearances with other RW/RR people.
Has the editing sucked so bad in a challenge? Ever?
Man, I don't know! It is sooo bad! If they want an intense, interesting challenge with twists, they might want to start actually watching the edited episodes before they air them. I am slowly loosing interest with the predictability and the Evan and Paula interview show. They do actually interview all the cast members right? I am sure other have things to say about the challenges besides describing the rules. We even know Isaac was funnier than both of them, and I think Diem or Tori could say a couple lines like "This is so scary! Waahhhhh!" once in a while instead of Paula. Hmph.

I think it also has to do with me watching too much reality t.v. that I can spot the tell-tale signs of an exit edit happening :( but last night seemed REALLY obvious to me. I try to stay away from spoilers because I like being surprised. I do have a weakness though that needs to be indulged now and then ;)
