I agree with the fact that Darrell does have factors for and opposing. I guess depending on the type of game, he will know his position. I still would like to believe that he is perhaps 3rd or 4th in pecking order in regards to physical and social game play.
As for Ev, I think the loss on G3 and The Island has transformed her. You're right she is a much different social player, but I still think The Island will leave some discord between her and her boat mates (inparticular Johnny & Kenny). With that said, I am unsure that she would not throw missions if this is indeed a Gauntlet style challenge to
"cut the fat". This could also be an inferno type of challenge as well, and if that's the case, then having alliance members on the other team would strongly favor a Wes/Kelly Anne/ Ev axis and Veronica and Darrell would find themselves more likely to be involved in a few elimination battles. I think Ev will do what is advantageous for her and her team without degrading a competitor, even Veronica.
There is always danger in assuming that the last time you saw Johnny, Kenny and Evelyn together on TV was the last time they may have discussed The Island. It wasn't the last time. Johnny and Evelyn have had several long conversations about what happened in Panama. I would describe their relationship as of last month as cordial, understanding, respectful and acknowledging of past mistakes. Kenny and Eve have talked several times as well, and Kenny is very aware that it's better to have Evelyn involved early, without deception (not G3 style), if you are going to need strong women at the end for a team mission that will take hours to complete.

It absolutely sucks not to have this much insight, and to be proven wrong or misguided time and time again. It's funny because for the Duel 2 ...... it could have easily been assumed that (for example) Robin and Aneesa would be at odds, ditto for Evan and Diem working together, ditto for Aneesa and diem, katie & rachel, jenn & paula, etc ....................
I have to accept and haven't yet, that during lulls between similar cast mates appearing on different challenges, that relationships do in fact change over the course of time. However, I think the casting is done to assume past history, to the normal, out of the loop viewers such as myself.

Casting people do think somewhat in those terms, but they also ask potential cast members about past challenges and current friendships, so they are aware that nothing is static.
For example, I'm sure production would love a full on Kenny vs Wes confrontation over Johanna. The problem with it is after both give production a little bluster on the subject for TV spurposes, the facts are that Johanna moved on from her failed engagement with Wes long before The Island was taped, and Wes moved on as well, most recently with Kelly Anne, and they are a couple. Johanna has her own circle of friends in Wales, with Kenny having long ago dropped into the "friend zone."
My ideal format would be champions paired up with challengers. The champions will be called randomly to pick a partner and at best, Veronica will pick the strongest challenger guy.
OR, everyone will just leave my V alone. Gosh Ev! To think I started to like you. Lol

I kinda like that idea. How do you think the teams would pair up? I guess it would depend if they're allowed to pair themselves, or if there's some sort of order to determine who picks first. But assuming everyone could pair themselves, what do you think the teams would look like?
I, for one, would love to see Johnny come back and host :)
I would, too. A while back I read he got married and was going to UCLA to finish his degree. I don't know if he finished that or what he's up to now.
That actual process of pairing is exactly why I hate the format. If indeed they competed for order, it wouldn't matter because they get take the best partners. Honestly, how fair would a Ev/Wes pair be against a Shauvon/Adam pair?

The very thought of that makes me cringe. That would be overkill.

Exactly. That's why I never like or have liked pair formats. They honestly are so lopsided. Teams have different dynamics. Pairs are just unfair and I could not stand watching a Challenge with certain teams dominating EVERYTHING.

I agree. The fact that they got to choose the boats in The Island made it extremely unfair, and pretty much everyone knew who was going to win.
Exactly cystic. They would have to do some major thinking and planning in order for it to be fair, because technically, picking a number out of a hat to determine the order is still unfair, because people still get the choice.
Teams would be the only fair format, or individual.
I just hope this challenge isn't nothing like The Island, and I hope they never make a sequel.
I think the newbies/rookies will do fine. I can't wait to see Sarah! She was my fav from Brooklyn.
Will this air during the season of "The Real World: Cancun" or after that is completely over??
I'm really excited about this challenge. I hope that it is 2 teams and not individual or partners.

I'm pretty sure it will air after Cancun, sometime in the fall.
I am really wanting the cast to be paired up! I think that will be cool.
You mean dating during the show? I agree, as much as I can't stand Danny from Austin, him and Melinda were adorable. I don't know what happened after Austin but I can't stand Danny.

What was it that makes everyone seem to hate Danny? I mean he's not my favorite guy but I don't hate him.
I didn't watch Austin so I might've just missed something.

NO LOL. I am talking about competition wise.

I liked him on Austin, but on the challenges I don't like him
I have faith in knowing that Ibis will do good. :)
Everyone that is saying she is weak, I hope she proves you guys wrong! I am also rooting for the newbies :)

"Everyone" invariably is clueless. No worries -- unless you think that at some point during the first week Ibis may say to herself, "This is not the vacation in Thailand I was hoping for."
I do think she may stay to herself within the first week, And I know she has 3 close friends watching out for her (Brad, Derrick, and Katie).
I know she'll do good and prove herself :)
Thanks V1MAN
Darrell seems to have challenge magic and has been 4 for 4 so far. Can he make it 5 for 5? Yeah he very well can make it to the end as he has shown that consistence before. Syrus definitely is no push over either and he has dropped weight which means he is in even better shape. Whether or not he makes it to the end...we'll see...but he definitely is a competitor and it'd be wrong to underestimate him.
Oh yeah I hope Katie can win this one...she needs to get to the end for me to fully enjoy this season lol. And it'll be interesting to see Ibis again.

I would love it if Katie could win! She has so much fight in her, it'd be nice to see her win.
I agree. Katie winning again would be very cool! But at this point there are so many people I want to win I have to wait for the season to roll around.
I agree. Katie winning again would be very cool! But at this point there are so many people I want to win I have to wait for the season to roll around.
Katie is Ok, but her best bet imo would be an individual challenge because a team in a team challenge, she is considered expendable and moreover "dead weight" by her peers.
I hope that there are only a few winners 6 max. BMP would buy my viewership for life if they did a Fresh Meat style pairing (random picking or color code matching), individual elimination rounds per gender to dismantle and form new teams, and Final challenge slots for only 3 teams. And similar to Fresh Meat, the challenge winner would pick a team to go into "The Pit" and the remaining teams would pick the other team to enter the pit. I could only imagine the deception towards the middle and end. In this scenario, Katie may aso be at an advantage if she is considered a weaker player.
This would be ideal ................ and unfavorable for an Evan type alliance who would eventually have to go at each other for sake of making the finals, esp if they are hindered by a weak opponent and the most exceiting factor of going up against someone they fear. I can only wish, but I speculate what most have in a Gauntlet type style challenge with 2 teams.

What if the previous winners could only be paired up with people who have not won before? The more I am thinking about this the more I like the concept. That way Wes, Ev, Darrell, Derrick, Kenny, ect, are always competeing against each other. Who gets to choose their partner? The people who have never won a challenge. They would probably have to compete first to determine the order in who gets first pick.
Why isn't anyone speculating anymore? :(
Well this may be a good thing because sometimes we get to excited and think we know everything when we really don't.
Anyways from watching Duel 2, Kim has proven herself to be a very good competitor. I also think Brianna, Sarah, Susie, Ev, Johanna, Veronica, Ibis, and Tonya will be very good competitors.
I hoping for teams or individual format.
I know this season will be intense! I wonder who is eliminated already haha
